The Point Brisbane Hotel offers a polarizing experience according to guests, with some questioning the value due to pricey food and a lack of luxury features. While the rooms draw mixed reactions for their varying states of modernity and comfort, the hotel's cleanliness receives unanimous commendation.
Amenities, including the pool and dining options, generally meet guest expectations, and the rooftop bar's atmosphere is a hit thanks to its live music and views. The location and service, however, have garnered mixed reviews, with the staff's professionalism being noted amidst some service inconsistencies.

Detailed Reviews
Arrived about 2 pm on Friday the 17th for the expected flawless check in. Unfortunately we were advised that even though the room had been cleaned ready for occupancy the House cleaning supervisor had yet to inspect and approve ready for the guests. We decided to enjoy a drink at the bar and after ordering, the bar staff informed us that due to the unexpected delay the drinks were complimentary, an apology was given for the delay, we were also provided with a cheese plate to enjoy while waiting. The staff gave us exceptional service. Amy and Yvonne who looked after us at the bar and Brianna from Reception. When our Executive suite was ready we found that our luggage had been taken to the suite and laid out for us and the up-grade cost was waived due to the inconvenience. We have stayed here a number of times, this small glitch was professionally attended to . We look forward to our Birthday celebration at Lamberts and our next stay at the Point, Brisbane.

chose this hotel as was on 60% discount when we booked our flights with Singapore Airlines- Agoda booking. The hotel is in a quiet street and is a 5-7 minute walk from 2 drop off points of the free City Hopper ferry service which we used to get across the Brisbane river to the CBD and the Roma street parklands. Also enjoyed a breezy walk along the docklands wharf a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
The executive suite came with a popup USB ports on the writing table, and had at least 3 sockets in the living room area. Free laundry detergent to use the 4 washing machines, and there were 4 tumble dryers on the basement and the basement parking was well laid out and free to use. Free bottles of drinking water, high quality toiletries in adequate volume tubes with 2 soap bars , a comfortable bed and sofa in the lounge area made our stay enjoyable and restful.
The hotel reception service was efficient and the cleanliness and room service of good standard.
Good value for money with the free parking and laundry, and convenient locaion to free ferry services.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I stayed at the Points in Brisbane on a weekend in late August to celebrate my birthday. I purchased a package through luxury escapes which included the room, a bottle of wine,
a drink each and breakfast and parking as well as New Farm chocolates. It was exceptionally good value.
The Hotel is located in Kangaroo Point. I’m not sure how old the hotel is but I’d say 15-25 years. Some other hotels I’ve stayed in of this vintage recently have really shown their age. However, this hotel was exceptionally clean in all areas of the room and hotel - no lingering dust smells as you often find in older hotels.
The bed was really comfortable and our rate featured a turn down service with complimentary evening chocolates which was a nice touch. The bathroom had also been renovated and featured a large bath as well as a separate large shower.
The breakfast provided was delicious with a good range to choose from as well as Barista made coffee. I didn’t use the pool although the pool area was nice. My husband and I did go and have an evening cocktail to watch the sunset on the Sunday night at the rooftop bar Eagles Nest and that was lovely.
The hotel is located in a lovely area and it is an easy walk to the Ferry or the Story Bridge Hotel where we went for dinner . Overall we had a lovely stay and it formed a great part of my month long birthday celebrations . Thankyou so much the Points Hotel.

Located in a quiet neighborhood of Brisbane, 5-10 minutes by taxi to the city center. Alternatively someone can take the City Hooper (free boat). Point hotel offers free shuttle service to the dock. We stayed there from December 22 until January 3, 2020 in an executive suite, a couple and our 15y son.
Although we booked from their own hotel website for three adults, we were charged extra for the child sleeping on the living room sofa. We have traveled worldwide and for the third time in Australia and that was something never seen before. I realized when reception desk asked for signatures and although I explained and encouraged them to consult their manager about, there was no result.
Our suite was on the 9th floor and had a nice view of the story bridge and the river. It was comfortable and consisted of a small living room, a bathroom, a separate bedroom and a balcony. But there is an urgent need for renovation, especially the bathroom. Because i had a guide for a better room with helpful Chris, i realized that only the junior suites were new and refurbished, but were small for a family stay. The cleanliness was very good. Breakfast was perfect, with great variety and good quality. There was a small outdoor pool next to the hotel. Car park is also available. A small bar is opened nearby the ground floor lounge until 22:00 (Saturday until 23:00). Although I wanted to enjoy a dinner or a few drinks in Eagles Nest with the panoramic view, it was opened only on New Year's Eve, but did not accommodate under 18ys. The wifi signal was very low in the room, especially in the bedroom it was totally off.
The biggest advantage of the hotel and the reason we continue staying for the whole 10 days there, was the Excellent, Polite, Cheerful and Smiling STAFF!!! They really helped to make our stay at the hotel better.
I should mention special thanks to Hannah, Justine, Justin, Chris and Bianka. Also to Alba and Nadja of the restaurant.

We had to book this last minute due to flight cancellations and having to amend our trip but was a great hotel. There’s free parking onsite and the rooms have views towards the river and city. There isn’t much in the local area but you can get the mini ferry across to the city and there are some bars etc in walking distance. The pool is lovely outside and well stocked with towels and they offer waitress service. We were there to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and after a days delay due to flights, we were glad to finally be there and relaxing. We casually mentioned this to our hostess Michaela as she was bringing us food and she came back the next time with some brownies and a birthday message in chocolate sauce! Was a really lovely and thoughtful surprise and we appreciated the effort she went to. Michaela served us several times over our stay and was always friendly and efficient, great service!
The rooms are large and have everything you need and beds were comfy. Nice big balcony and good AC.
Only issue was that I was so looking forward to the rooftop bar, one of the reasons I chose the hotel. I was disappointed to see it was only open on set days but we planned our trip around going to the bar, we invited a friend to join us. On the Friday we went up to the bar and a rather rude woman came running at us as soon as we walked at the lift. She wasn’t a staff member but I presume someone who had booked the room. She told us we had to leave and the bar was reserved, there was no guests there at that time and she wouldn’t even let us look at the view quickly. I was so disappointed but thought we would try again on Sunday even though it was the day we were leaving. On the Sunday it was closed of busy again. Such a shame, was really looking forward to sharing a bottle of wine in such a unique bar with my boyfriend and friends.
Other wise a great stay, recommend especially for the staff and parking but don’t let the rooftop bar be the reason you book !

We have previously stayed at The Point and over it, but this time it was even better. Every single staff member was went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a larger room, a junior suite, which was an unexpected pleasure. The massive king size bed was soooo comfortable and the feather pillows were lovely to sink into. The hotel also provides a pillow menu to accommodate for different people's needs. Our Luxury Escape deal also included a full buffet breakfast, which was excellent. There is also a lap pool and a gym.
The location is an easy half hour walk from Fortitude Valley and just a 5 minute walk down to Dockside to catch the free City Hopper ferry across to the Southbank and the city.
We will definitely return again.

We booked a luxury escapes package and finally got to use it after two cancellations due Covid.
Drove in from Brisbane airport late last Thursday night for 2 nights with free undercover parking.
Reception 24 hours and were friendly on our arrival and checking was easy.
We had a junior suite which was huge but was facing Brisbane city and fab views but was also on main freeways which resulted in noise from Early morning.
Our bed would have to be one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on including our own at home.
Breakfast was included and we chose from a menu which was delivered to the table.
All was good including service from Maria.
It was a big breaky.
Nice lap pool Area for an afternoon swim and Eagles Nest on 12 th floor for pre dinner drinks was worth a visit for great views before dinner.
We ate at Lamberts restaurant on the ground floor and really enjoyed our meal. Service was great thank you although wine by the glass was a bit expensive.
This hotel is a short 10 minute walk to catch ferry into city… a five minute walk to one of the best French bakeries I have ever been to…Christian Jacques in Basildon Street with hotel and convenience store virtually next door and a liquor store and Italian and japanese restaurant 3-4 minutes walk away across Ferrymans Bridge.
All in all, a very nice property, great customer service and a nice area to stay outside, but close to the city

One would be hard pressed to say anything other than that we were impressive with the cleanliness and excellent value at this hotel.
On arrival receptionist Reina met my wife and I, she is the most gracious and helpful receptionist ever. She went the extra mile personally showing us rooms ensuring that we could safely access the shower (hip disability) and ensuring absolute satisfaction with the room itself. The beds are super comfortable.
I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary breakfast. Table service cooked breakfast to order promptly served by our friendly waiter Joe. On requesting a bottle of red wine not stocked in the bar, no trouble to Joe, he retrieved a bottle from the cellar in no time.
All the staff rate highly, greeting us and helping or just a friendly chat daily.

Location: Not really close to Queen's street and South Bank, but already very good because you can use Ferry to go to those tourist spots.
Staff: Very friendly and helpful.
Room: quite big with a balcony. One value to add is that we can watch the fireworks in the room because the room can see the Story Bridge
Price: Quite reasonable and a parking space is included.

I have stayed here on a number of occasions, and the warm welcome received from the moment you enter the lobby to the moment you depart certainly encourages the return visit.
Ideally located in beautiful Kangaroo Point, this is a ideal place for those that like an early morning jog as the access to the riverside is fantastic. Then it's an easy walk across Story Bridge or a quick ferry and you're in the heart of Brisbane.
The rooms are beautifully kept, light and airy. The breakfast buffet is beautifully presented, and considering how close you are to busy roads the pool area is very relaxing indeed.
You have easy access to a lot of very good dining options, however should you wish to have a night in, Lambert's will not disappoint.
It's always a good sign when you only see smiling faces, and every member of the team here has a smile on their face. It gives you a real feeling of comfort.
And there is very convenient parking too! That's a big plus in this city.
