A top end hotel. Close to river but not bang smack in the city. Nice touches like fresh flowers in the lobby. Superb amenities. Close to the river which is great to walk along I upgraded to a junior suite (it had a freestanding bath). Very comfortable. Perhaps ask for a room up high as you could hear traffic. Lambert’s restaurant perfect. Swimming pool terrific

Really disappointing experience. I left behind some expensive creams (hair and face amenities) and despite calling several times to see if they were picked up, I was practically hung up on. Just dont understand how there wasnt even a follow up. Completely disillusioned with the hotel staff and their nonchalant attitude.

Great location so close to the city, with beautiful rooms and fantastic rooftop bar. The pool was nice in the morning. Staff are helpful and breakfast at Lamberts was wonderful. Lots of carparking downstairs. It's walking distance to Dockside and the city ferry. We had no problems during our 2 night stay here.

I’ve been staying at the point for a few months now when in Brisbane for business. It’s well positioned to the city and easy to get in and out of being right next to the bridge. Onsite parking is also good and there’s lots of it. The staff have always been great to deal with and easy going. The rooms are a bit dated due to the age of the building but the advantage is the bathrooms are big. I checked out the restaurant downstairs last nite with a business colleague. It was nice but over priced for a business trip dinner. $30-40 for a mains plus sides is a bit high. Also check out the bar on top if you have a Chance. The view is amazing!

Checking out today of the fab hotel lovely lobby, I would say 4 star experience. Big spacious rooms, we had a balcony suite. This was perfect as we have a 1yo and gave us more space if she was sleeping in the bedroom or cot. 2 big TV's with chrome cast this was great for the little one. Beautiful view from the balcony. We had room service on of the nights and it was just a limited fancier menu. Ampol parking spaces in the basement which is secure. The only thing I could fault was the pool being in a very shaded area which made it very cold. Great location for the Gabba, 17 min walk on straight roads and 15 minute walk to the city hopper ferry. Definitely would stay here again

After reading so many glowing reviews and with a current TA Traveller’s Choice award, I had high expectation and was disappointed. This is a mid range hotel with bland and soulless rooms. I have stayed in many, many better 4 star hotels. The foyer is the most upmarket part of the hotel. The rooms have been renovated with new furniture and fittings, except for the 1990’s bathroom. There are lots of wear and tear and scuff marks. The photos on the website create high expectations that simply won’t be met. The TA website refers to a turn down service - this is not something I want or need but it is untrue and adds to false expectations of luxury. The rooftop bar was closed for a private function when I wanted to use it. The pool is small and wedged in a dark corner next to the restaurant so does not look especially inviting (unlike most pools.) The internet was hit and miss but the option to chrome cast is very good. Having said that, we had a balcony room and it was a great size with a nice, separate living room, a desk area, and lots of light streaming in. The king size bed was very comfy and everything was clean except the bathroom which was a bit tatty around the edges. All the glowing reviews about the “great location” also disappointed me. Taste is subjective of course. The Point is set in a suburban pocket with residential high rises on all sides. There is barely a shop to be found and just a few cafes and restaurants sparsely dotted around. Mainly you have to traverse unpleasant main roads to get anywhere. For such an overdeveloped area, there was not many signs of life on the streets at all. There are some nice walks to be found along the river in both directions once you navigate the blocked access routes - the nearest ferry stop and cliff path are closed from flood damage and the signage is very poor. When you get to the river’s edge away from the main road, it is very pleasant. We walked across the Story Bridge twice and it is easy walking (although not so pleasant with the road noise), and dinner at the Howard Smith Wharf at the other end of the bridge from The Point is highly recommended. I am surprised at so many other reviews saying it is conveniently located. If you have no time pressures, then you can use the ferries to traverse the river into the CBD. It is a very lovely 30 minute walk (once you cross the main road and find the unsigned path) along the river to South Bank but you still need to cross the river from there to get into the CBD. You could walk to the Gabba without problems from The Point. We walked to Suncorp stadium but it took an hour and was not a pleasant walk at all. Better to taxi/Uber this. Taking into account the pricing, I would rate this hotel as great value if you're not fussed about location and you keep your expectations realistic.

The hotel is looking quite tired, no milk in room on arrival, told to go down to the front or find a room cleaner. Breakfast was slow, over 4 nights, had 2 different menus, nothing explained, except on checkout, when advised that some of the sides were an additional cost. Lovely location, could get around easily. Staff were in general friendly, maybe a couple of the breakfast staff need a little more training or guidance, Eagles Nest was good spot for a drink, with the views.
