Friendly manager who cam and showed us to our studio, with kitchen, bathroom etc. ideal for our needs. Plug missing from the bathroom, apparently people pinch them, was quickly replaced when requested. There was a problem with the WIFI during our stay which they didn't fix during our three nights there. Lovely comfortable room with plenty of space on the same level as the pool. Which we didn't use because it rained a lot.

We spent one night here after flying into Brisbane.
Easy to find from the airport and conveniently located across the road from Toowong shopping mall. The lady at reception was really friendly and upgraded us to a king room.
The room itself was nice enough. Basic and clean amenities in the room; tv, coffee making facilities, microwave, wifi, fluffy towels etc.
Free parking was fantastic.
We'd stay here again.

There are plenty of VERY nice things to say about the "Toowong Inn" but, the TOP NICEST thing to say can be summarized in one word... ..."Gregory"!
Gregory is a true Gentleman and HE and his very kind, sweet, and truly caring staff are why I will ALWAYS stay @ the "Toowong Inn" any time that I visit the Brisbane Area!
In addition to being a perfect gentleman, Gregory is the Very Best Concierge for the entire Brisbane Area, Australia, and quite possibly, the better part of the world! He will tell you all of the very best places to see and what are the very best in local restaurants!
In addition to Gregory, I made so many nice and amazingly interesting contacts and friends @ the "Toowong Inn" because "anyone who knows anything" about Brisbane always makes a habit of staying here!
The "Toowong Inn" is perfectly located very close to Downtown Brisbane, South Bank, Queensland University, etc.
Toowong is also a very nice area to stay in with plenty of all levels of shopping (toowong Village) and Gregory will tell you the very best places to eat for your money! My favorite in the area is "JackPot Noodle", in fact I ate there a majority of my evenings while in Toowong! Also check out "the Boatshed @ The Regatta Hotel"!!!
Anyway, my bottom-line...???

I am a frequent traveler and whenever in Brisbane visiting my daughter I would stay at Toowong Inn as I quite like the place and nice to return to a place of familiarity. This morning at about 8 am my daughter and I checked into the motel and was taken back and very disappointed with unwelcoming gestures and rudeness by the reception staff . We knew this reception lady before and she might be the hotel manager. Thus pretty shocked that she asked us why we were checking into the hotel again ! We already had bookings made on line on their website. Next I enquired if the room we stayed previously was available . Her answer was rude and irrelevant, and she said that if I wanted to switch room it would incur a cost. Firstly , it was the same type of room that I had booked on line so why incur additional cost. Secondly I wouldn’t have asked to switch room if it weren’t even available . Why should anyone pay money to get such unpleasant welcome and stay . So I wrote in to cancel my entire booking and stated that I would observe the cancellation policy of paying the one night fees, and went to book another hotel down the road for more professionalism and respect for guests.
I thought any hotel and businesses should be very happy to have repeat customers. Why should anyone patronize a hotel that does not appreciate return guests and such unprofessionalism. By the way I am a Singaporean, and whatever the case, there should not be any prejudice against any race or nationalities and what more in hospitality industry ! We are very disappointed by this particular staff at Toowong Inn and we hope the owners of the motel would review this seriously .

As a family owned small business we do take guest reviews seriously and we have always prided ourselves on our guest relations and customer service as can be seen from our many glowing reviews on both this website and others online and in person, and is represented in the many guests who continue to support us via return bookings. Lydia I am disappointed that you have had this experience, as in the past when you have stayed with us as was the case this time we have endeavored to make your stay as pleasant as possible by meeting all your requests as we had done this time by setting up the room with all of the extra cooking equipment and crockery, as well as early check in and late checkout to name a few of those extras. Over a period of 2 years you have made 10 Reservations with us and cancelled 4 or just not arrived. Yes on this occasion you were charged a one night cancellation cost which is our policy, you did not mention in is this review the booking from last week where you did not arrive or notify us you were not staying – I personally rang your mobile number on the night you were to arrive, I did not receive a reply from the message I left, you were not charged for this, nor for the many occasions when you arrived for early check in or late check out. I am disappointed and offended that you felt that you were a victim of racial prejudice.

Stayed here with work. Think i must have got one if the oldest rooms they had. Very old and dated decor and fit out. Although adjacent to toowong mall, and clean, this is VERY basic accommodation.

Stayed with family for a short visit. Wifi was "choppy" as logging in took some time. However, the room was clean and the balcony was a good size for us to sit outside. We enjoyed the close proximity, less than 5 minutes walk to the shops especially the supermarkets and good restaurants and public transport.

We stayed in a loft suite - 2 adults & 3 kids. The cleaners were lovely and friendly.
But it was so hot & muggy in the room because the air conditioner was way to small for the room. The manager did go & buy 1 cheap fan but that did nothing to help the situation, it was even stinking hot upstairs where the air con is situated & we were out of the room all day, everyday. The only Foxtel was a couple of sports channels & the WiFi was crap.
There also was 3 washers & dryers but every single time I went to do a wash they all were taken up with the hotel towels & curtains. I had to hand wash once & then the next time I hung out in front of the laundromat for 2 hours to wait for someone to finally grab their washing.
We picked this hotel for the laundry, foxtel, wifi & aircon & we got none of it.
The whole room stunk of mould
The worst was my children & I were getting electric shocks from the light switch in the bathroom & the manager didnt really care. He said that he had an electrician "look" at it & said it worked fine but as I told him it was after showers it happened & he just shrugged his shoulders!! NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. This is a safety hazard!!!!
I will never return. Worst hotel stay ever!!!

The spacious ground floor Disabled Room (103) has a kitchen, large fridge, bench top hot plates, oven and microwave (no dishwasher). The unit was basically clean except the oven, which was quite dirty. There was only one dull ceiling light for the lounge/dining/kitchen area and if we didn't have the walk-in shower at minimal pressure, the bathroom floor flooded. Location is good, free undercover parking a bonus. Although I have made some negative points, these are only relatively minor and on the whole our stay was quite pleasant.

We stayed here to be close by for an event my daughter had at UQ. The room was spacious for 3 of us, clean and tidy, if a little dated. Kitchenette includes bar fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and hotplate. Heaps of crockery and cutlery, clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to lovely restaurants, and Toowong Shopping centre. Ample off street parking, and well priced for what you get.
