The first room we entered absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke so we requested a room change, that we eventually received but someone else (later arrival), had to go into that smelly room. It was supposed to be a ‘non smoking’ complex! The room we were placed into had : marks/stains on cushion cover grubby shower balcony that could not be used due to extreme heat being pushed out from air conditioning unit water dripping from AC unit onto our heads, when laying in bed carpet very old noisy due to traffic and local pub on corner could not look at view due to not being able to use balcony(extremely hot) Pool looked to be very good! Location fine Free parking
Picked this place out simply for the price. A lot cheaper than most places around Bris CBD and at Kangaroo Point. Glad I did!! Fantastic little spot. Great view from my room and balcony (see attached pic). Close to free ferry. One minute wait for Uber. Aged but comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.
Rude on phone to make booking. She should be guarding a wrecking yard not manning a phone. There are plenty of great places to stay in Brisbane but the reviews here say it all. Rather sleep under the bridge.
This is the second time I have stayed at Bridgewater as I find it to be clean; comfortable and convenient. The pool is an absolute highlight of the facility and the desk service is pleasant and helpful. I look forward to returning upon my next business trip.
The stay was a huge let down due to the many ways the service presentation falls short. No doubt the location is tops and views just awesome, with such a huge potential for a perfect magical time but... 1. Beds were extremely old with bases that sag so the mattresses do the spoon. We were shown several beds in various rooms that were the same. Our bed was so bad we slept on the base of ensemble only, and when we pulled up the mattress we found it was very worn out and ripped apart as the photo shows. Look like something you find at the tip. They had an added cushion thrown on top of this, under the blankets, which did not help of course. 2. Having a fantastic pool for a swim everyday, extra towels are a necessity and would be nice. But everything was a struggle. Soaps and shampoo were minimal so we struggled and had to use our own. We were offered one box of tissues for a few days at the location. Presentation came across as cheap and uncaring. 3. Bed cover was stained and gross. But even so, small pleasures would go a long way - like how things are laid on the bed when you arrive, but there was no thoughtfulness in presentation. 4. Choosing a larger room with kitchen was important, but the kitchen was sad and difficult. Pots were old tin, really? We did not find the rubbish bin until last day of a 3 day stay. This was an inconvenience as we had to put the toilet rubbish bin in the hallway which was just wrong, and this was awkward when inviting other guests in for a meal. 5. The tea and coffee was old and should have been thrown out. The options very poor. BYO for alcohol might be fair enough if actually a let down for many people who might like to have a drink on hand and quite willing to pay. However, a totally empty fridge is just so unwelcoming. 6. The pool was awesome, the grounds fantastic, but we were not given keys to the gate system so we felt hemmed in. We did not realise the walkways to boardwalk were available outside the property until the last day when it was too late. Such a let down for this location as access to the boardwalk is so important. 7. The carpets folded up and looked very poor and present tripping hazards. This pulled the whole room down. Overall the pool was the only real bonus of this visit. The gym was not welcoming. The sauna not in order. The pool toilet and shower was not nice.…
