Beautiful hotel, foyer is stunning with its grand stair case upto the Ballroom, staff were all very informative and attentative, any request we had they answered straight away, the breakfast was unbelievable, so much to choose from and such s beautiful sitting area out by the river. The rooms are a bit dated for such a beautiful hotel I feel the actual room was dated, the bathroom was lovely just the bed area, buy still nice, bed was huge and pillows probably need a variety of different sized ones, they were all too high for me so ended sleeping with no pillow as I need a half flat one, so maybe just a variety of sizes if I could change anything.. view wasn' too bad, cranes are in front of view building the new foot bridge bit they won't be there forever so once foot bridge is done will be lovely. The off street parking wasn't too much of a problem as it was only a 2 minute walk to the car or to the hotel. Location is really great so close to Queen St Mall and so many wonderful restaurants all around hotel.

This hotel is tired and not worthy of its prestige star ranking. We stayed on 6th floor in older section of hotel. The corridor was neglected and we noticed wall paper peeling off the wall. The room was comfortable but dated and had stains on the curtains. The linen and towels had lost thier freshness from too many washes and not at the standard expected of this class of hotel. Room lighting particularly in the bathroom was poor. The included breakfast was a shambles! Tables too close together, inadequate amount of cutlery in tins on tables and steel uncomfortable chairs. The usual buffet array was available but was notably cold! There was no service to tables at all. Noticeabley under staffed. Steer clear of this place until it is refurbished and under new management! Definitely not worth the money paid compared with other hotels recently visited at same price!

A beautifully appointed hotel in a convenient location with the botanical gardens on the doorstep and many restaurants around the hotel. The room was large and airy and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The staff were friendly and the lobby was grand. The downside of the hotel is that the pool is in the shade for most of the day.

My wife and I don’t understand the negative reviews. We arrived 3 days ago after a tiring journey from England to be met with efficient great service from the front desk, help from the concierge and good advise about going to the on-site restaurant La Boca to eat before last orders at 9 pm. Our room on the 14th floor has an amazing view complete with a large bathroom and plentiful supplies of tea coffee and milk. The decor is smart and up to date. The meal in the restaurant was excellent and the staff so polite and engaging. The view of an illuminated Storey Bridge was beautiful. Each day we have asked for advice from the concierge team all of whom have been so helpful. The swimming pool is a delight and the location of the hotel is so convenient for the river and public transport. There are plenty of local bars and coffee shops to frequent. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Such a charming hotel. The lift assistant Soumen was especially helpful after such a stressful business trip. Give that man a raise! It made my week. Will definitely be back to the lovely hotel to enjoy Brisbane.

Met with friends for the Sunday afternoon Chocolatine High Tea Experience. While we were waiting I visited the loo- all are mismatched and badly in need of renovation. Another reviewer called this a “hotel in decline” and I have to agree. Great location, but that’s all. Very limited savoury selection- turkey sandwiches were dry- mushroom tarts were lovely. Since we were at a high tea venue I expected more than three varieties of tea on offer, and for them to be loose leaf, not generic teabags with the tags hanging out of the pot. Sweet offerings were nice enough but nothing to write home about. The overall impression was of a once fine hotel sadly hanging on by its fingernails. Seems I’m not the only patron to feel this way.

The most delicious restaurant on this trip to Australia! ! You can choose between seafood and meat for Argentinian BBQ, no matter which one you choose, they are all delicious! ! As for seafood, the flower branches are very soft and tender; the shrimps are also very fresh and sweet. The lamb chops were also grilled to perfection. There are also scallops that feel like a holiday luxury. It’s grilled, remember to eat it while it’s hot! ! In addition to barbecue, there are also chef cooking demonstrations and red and white wine pairings. It is a novel experience that is not only delicious but also a feast for the eyes! !

We booked a Riverview twin for a girls weekend. On arrival our room wasn't correct , the front desk arranged another twin room as opposed to the king bed we had been allocated. In a nutshell. The bed was comfy, the room was adequate and the bathroom was large enough for two people The downside was for a $450 a night room we were disappointed to find there was no tv casting or pay movies, the bar didn't have a cocktail menu and the breakfast room was extremely crowded with lots of items not replenished particularly quickly. You also had to pay for real coffee. Compared to other hotels in the city for that price we would have expected just those finishing touches. The parking was $50 a night. We probably wouldn't stay again.

If you have a hearing impairment (3.6 million Australians do), don't stay here. There are NO SUBTITLES on the "SMART" TV. Parking is exorbitant at $45 per day. They didn't bother to check whether we parked on or off sites (off site is $30 per day) but automatically charged the higher on site rate. The bed was comfortable. The rooms are dated and in need of renovation but the prices are still the same as modern, far better appointed hotels. $45 for a very average buffet breakfast is also excessive. I recommend that look for better value!

Did not enjoy the experience at all. We arrived 10 mins before designated check in time but the lady refused to give us the key as the room was “not ready”. 10 mins later we lined up again and she gave the key. Car park was tricky to navigate. Narrow. Room was underwhelming so we decided to go shopping in the city. Dinner was included and the restaurant was like an overpriced cafe. I was expecting a bit more luxury. Dinner wasn’t great but included in room package and we ordered drinks and paid up front. I insisted on a receipt as I had a feeling we’d be charged to our room for them. Once in the room we thought we might watch a movie or Netflix. Disappointed to find out there was only free to air available. We are locals so we decided to go home and sleep there. It was more comfortable. The next day we came back for breakfast (also included) and to check out. Breakfast was fine, nothing fancy. On check out it was no surprise to find out our drinks had been charged to the room. I had to produce the receipt to prove we’d paid. After talking to a manger she removed the charge. I would not recommend this place nor will we be back. It’s not worth the money.
