Detailed Reviews
I have found our new Brisbane CBD luxury accommodation. Excellent customer service and friendly staff on arrival, the large reception area, stunning English feel, Royal Albert teaware is all around you, deluxe suite is absolutely massive, large windows, in-room laundry facilities, a minibar with a wide range of refreshments, stocked fridge, beautiful long bathroom, pillow top mattresses, the room is spotless, fresh, warm and inviting. On-site elevated stacker parking (F&F Tokyo Drift) for smaller cars, though our large truck was best parked at the Myer Centre, all of this for a great price! Walk out the front reception area, to a wonderful cafe, newsagent, eatery onto the street to a ladies make-up store (perfect) Location is directly opposite the Myer Centre and our favourite Beach Resort. Love it! Well done Royal Albert Brisbane 50 stars

This period hotel is well maintained and offers a classy alternative to chipboard furniture found in many new modern hotels. Staff very helpful with valet parking and reasonable rates.
Very quiet stay despite location with secondary glazing in large and spacious rooms.

We found our room to be clean and tidy but the real highlight was the staff. The Reception staff were extremely, cheerful and accommodating. We asked whether we could be providing with rubber matting for the shower floor as my wife is unstable. A staff member arrived within minutes and placed the mat (and chair) in place. Wife asked him about access to the wifi and he fixed that as well and just to top it off I was having trouble with the TV remote and he decided it best to replace. All done in no time. My only comments (and these apply to most Hotels) - why don't they check TV remotes before each guest arrives and the inevitable complaint about the security deposit.

We appreciate your feedback, and we will discuss this matter with our housekeeping team to avoid this in future. Furthermore, the preauthorization acts as a security bond for the room. This security bond also covers the costs if any incidentals for example, mini bar, room service, etc that you have throughout your stay. This amount is then released back to the guests upon the departure, however depending on who you bank with it may take up to 5-7 business days for the funds to clear accordingly. Please kindly note, the amount should show as a pending transaction and will clear automatically from your account and no longer listed in your bank statement in the future. Kind Regards, Royal Albert Team

You can't ask for a better location or a better hotel for the price. From our friendly greeting at the door to the warm goodbye as we left, we felt "right at home" at the Royal Albert.
We had reserved a 1 bedroom suite for our stay and were certainly not disappointed. The beds were firm but comfortable providing an excellent night sleep. The kitchen was fully stocked with cutlery and glassware, etc.
The staff (ALL of them) were accommodating and extremely helpful with a few things we needed. E.G. Our washer/dryer (in the room) would not work on the drying cycle. 1 phone call to the front office and a staff member was there to check things out. When he couldn't get it working, he took our clothes and had them dried in another location and returned to us in 40 minutes!
The location of the hotel is perfect. Literally across the entrance to the Queen Street Mall (and all that that has to offer) and is withing one or two blocks from many of the cities major bus routes. A couple of blocks and you are at the river and across the bridge to SouthBank.
I will not hesitate to book the Royal Albert on my next trip to Brisbane!

The Royal Albert Hotel must be one of the most comfortable hotels in Brisbane. It is located in the centre of the city and within walking distance of everything. The hotel has the characteristic high ceilings and wide hallways of a hotel built with care. The rooms are immaculate with full kitchen, laundry facilities.

The Royal Albert Hotel is in an old building (1913) in central Brisbane, very handy for all the shops and the river. The reception is in a small arcade with a busy restaurant at the front so a little difficult to spot at first glance.
The reception staff were welcoming, and the desk is staffed for 24 hours a day although the main doors are locked from 8 pm. Your key card will give you access and also allows operation of the lifts.
My room was bigger than I expected, although I had not studied the pictures on the website closely. It was advertised as a queen room but was very big, with both a desk and a dining table with four chairs, as well as a sofa that turns into a sofa bed.
There was a well-stocked kitchenette and another surprise was the washer and dryer in the room which saved me having to find a local launderette. As well as a microwave, kettle and toaster, there was a small hob, iron, ironing board and hairdryer. No safe though. The bed was comfortable. The air-con / heater was set to 22 and there was a note on it asking that it not be changed. The temperature in the room was fine, although I could have done with a bit of boost to the temperature in the bathroom for my morning shower.
If I have any complaints it is about the water strength in the shower which was very very poor, I wash my hair most days and it was not strong enough to rinse the conditioner so I had to finish rinsing my hair over the sink. Not ideal.
My other complaint relates to the cleaning, the bed was made but some of the towels and face cloth had been taken and not replaced. This included the bath mat towel. And the cleaner had removed a small bag of rubbish from the bin but for some reason then abandoned it by the microwave.
I’ve seen reviews mentioning the noise, my room was adequately sound proofed, and faced onto an office block at the back of the building rather than onto Albert or Elizabeth Streets. I did hear some noise from the room next door late at night but it was very muffled, and not really an issue.
This is a well located hotel for anyone looking for somewhere to stay in central Brisbane, and the rooms are charming.

Stopped by for a meal. due to COVID they were only allowed 10 diners. We were outside but they had heaters fixed into the umbrellas so we were nice and warm. My daughter had the steak, which she rarely eats, and she said it was delicious. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the lamb kebab which was also good. Nothing was too much trouble when we asked to vary the menu a little. Young man serving us was very attentive and obliging. Would I return yes. It was reasonably priced as well.

My wife and I stayed 5 nights, arriving at midnight from the BNE Airport.
A nice receptionist copied my passport, confirmed my prepayment and took a A$100 deposit before providing our key card. We used it to operate 1 of the 2 fast elevators up to the 4th floor.
Room #402, carpeted and spacious, opened to a fully outfitted bathroom with a nice tile shower, then a comfortable queen and couch across a fully outfitted kitchenette, desk, dining table and chairs.
The AC was quiet with a wall control but the room WIFI did not operate and the washing machine was Out of Order. We worked with reception & moved up 1 floor to fully functional #506 for the balance of our stay, with a window wall that looks down on Brisbane’s ‘Shibuya Crossing’. Both rooms were outfitted with high quality furniture and lovely paintings.
We walked 180m across the street to the Coles supermarket and 2 blocks east to the Woolworths both in the multi street pedestrian zone of shops/stores.
Overall a great stay but WIFI should be stronger.

This was a different option from the norm. Most hotels in Brisbane are high rises and I've stayed in a few over the years when staying in the city to see shows etc. I thought I'd try the Royal Albert and I'm glad I did. As great as the views are in high rises I sleep better closer to the ground, lol. Also this is an older style hotel, with quaint decor and most importantly larger rooms. There is plenty of space to plonk your bags and still walk around. There was a queen bed in the room and my friend and i shared that but there is also the option of the pull out sofa - even not pulled out it would have been big enough for a small to average sized person to sleep on. There was some traffic noise but it's the middle of the city so that's any place you stay. They are doing roadworks around the building but the reception sent me easy to follow instructions for how to get into the carpark, so it didn't cause a problem. The staff were lovely and helpful. The parking is reasonably priced and valet, which felt a bit luxurious. Next morning we ate breakfast in the cafe downstairs and it was delicious. Location is also great as you can just walk over to the mall if you want to shop or catch a movie. I think I've found my new favourite overnight city stay.

No, fixed double glazing. The rooms are air conditioned/heated with your own in unit control. Opening windows would not be a good idea due to the noisy position of the hotel. The double glazing means there is no noise inside.
Parking is available and the daily rate is reasonable. I think it was $30 a day. Not sure about the safes and no pool
