Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nothing fancy but good location, clean and a comfortable bed (walk to the Mater Hospital, Gabba, South Bank , CBD or Suncorp), free car parking. Stayed here twice in different rooms, both similar layouts with small balcony. Reception staff friendly

Needed a place for my son and i to stay that was close by to hospital. Staff were friendly room was clean and tidy but a little dated. Bed was nice. Location was perfect for what we needed. Shower was decent out tiles sloped so water would run out into the rest of the shower area.

Staff helpful. Great views and good accomodation. Handy apartments for anyone with a vehicle as there is reserved parking for all units on the property. It appears to be set up for people who provide their own food. Not recommend for those without transport as there is no cafe, deli or food shop very close. One very obliging staff member helped us out with some food items. Air conditioner needs attention and shower water pressure very poor.

Stayed in a room for 3 adults was 3 single beds which could be reconfigured accordingly. Room had a small dining table & chairs, microwave, kettle, toaster, glasses, cups. Small balcony with a 2 chair table. We were on 6 floor & had city views including story bridge. Rooms are very clean & pressure in shower fantastic while only hall cubicle. Due to show running late & traffic we had to check in after reception had closed but this wasn’t an issue at all

Stayed one night at Hillcrest apartments on Vulture Street on the second floor facing the pool grounds and street. Comfortable and clean, but the traffic noise did not stop until after midnight. Possibility better on higher floors if available. Definitely need double glass windows to reduce traffic noise here.

We unfortunately didn’t stay, as Covid lockdowns and restrictions hit again! Was coming for the cricket and as unsure if we would be allowed in or out of the state phoned the property and spoke with Nicole who was so very helpful. Nicole gave us up to nearly day of arrival to cancel free of charge....and unfortunately we have just done so...we will definitely stay next time because of her helpful attitude..... The tip here is though, always book directly with the property, so they don’t lose commission to overseas companies...and you get flexibility to cancel or change if necessary

Hillcrest is close to everything you need... Southbank, 10 min walk to the Gabba... Mater Hospital... Bus Station. The staff were very friendly and when we needed something, they went out of there way to help. Bed was comfortable for a good night's rest.. we had continenal breakfast 2 of the 3 mornings we stayed. As a regular traveller the one thing you look forward to is not being able to hear slamming neighbour doors. My stay at Hillcrest would have to be the worst ever. Every 30 mins or less I would get loud slamming door noises boom and shudder through my room. I was shocked to hear from a permanent Tennant that they had been dealing with this also and had been asking the management for over 9 months to rectify the gas door closers, but with no avail or care. What kind of business runs like this ? The surety of a peaceful sleep must be a prerequisite over every other thing.

Thanks for your feedback, as the doors have been adjusted and new locks recently installed it is disappointing to hear there is still an issue. We appreciate all feedback and will be attending to rectify this as soon as possible.

Great place to stay, and I was very impressed with the apartment and the friendly service. I’m not familiar with Brisbane City, and am very glad my friends recommended the Hillcrest apartments. I had a one bedroom apartment, very large and really well appointed and modern, good bedroom, comfortable bed, large window to look at the city lights, and a front balcony overlooking the pool, I’d requested a lower floor apartment and that was great. The pool and BBQ area were lit up at night, very pretty. There is also an onsite restaurant that serves coffee early in the morning (I was there at 7am great!) plus a Buffet breakfast and I received vouchers towards this for each morning. There is free wifi and it works really well, no cut out time. Reception, Restaurant and all staff were great, and my apartment was cleaned and restocked daily. Will definitely stay here again. (Also just a short walk to Southbank and river walks.)
