This hotel is located right in the middle of the City and within walking distance of many attractions, cafes and shopping. This is the first time I’ve ever stayed but it definitely will not be the last. The staff at the Hyatt were amazing, helpful and really friendly. Check in was a breeze, even though we arrived really early and expected to drop our bags off and have to wander around town until 3, the staff really went above and beyond to get us in a room which we were really grateful for. The rooms were clean and tidy. The sliding doors to the bathroom were a bit tricky and didn’t offer a lot of privacy for the person in using the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and heard minimal noise on the 23 floor. Our package did not not include breakfast but we still had a great brekky, a bit overpriced but it was served immediately and tasted great. My only concern was that our room was not made up while we were there which was not overly inconvenient but it would have been nice.

We were really excited to see the Hyatt brand come to Brisbane with this old property being taken over and “Hyatt-fied”. The hard product is pretty good- excellent location in the midst of the city and decent sized rooms with modern finishings. Unfortunately, none of the King rooms have actual King beds so you have the choice between much smaller sized Queen rooms or you have to live with two singles shoved together (which they, of course, incorrectly call “King” on their website). We were really impressed how this was communicated to us in advance but this doesn’t change the fact that this hotel simply has no acceptable King mattresses available which is a total no go for a hotel that calls itself Hyatt Regency. In a similar vein, the pool looks lovely at 8am in the morning but turns out to be pretty useless at all other times of the day as it’s “smartly” built in a way so that it gets the hotel’s own shadow for most of the day. We dared regardless and not only is it shady throughout the day but also not heated in the slightest, hence freezing cold.

What we were really unhappy about was the housekeeping service which seemed to be leftover from whatever minor brand this properly was in the past: Inattentive, slack and not hygienic we found their service on every single day of our stay: Not a single time did they vacuum the floors (!!!) and every day we had to call up and ask for things like fresh coffee capsules, bathroom amenities or clean glasses. The latter turned out to be a major endeavour for the staff and required several renewed calls to the front desk to get it finally fixed. Not good enough.

As this is the only Hyatt property in Brisbane for now, I will be back and am hoping that those issues outlined above will be addressed in due course though I doubt they will bother to get proper new King-sized mattresses as they certainly should.

Not a particularly good stay. Very difficult to get to with its main entrance right off a shopping mall. I drove around the block several times without finding the vehicle entrance. It took a call to the hotel and help from the staff to describe how to drive down a pedestrian Mall dodging startled people to find the dark laneway which lead the hotel garage. This could have been better advised by the hotel. Restaurant food and service was very good but my impression of the hotel overall was ruined by poor housekeeping on 3 or 4 nights I stayed. Either my room was not made up at all or when it was, they forgot to replace towels (2 occasions), no soap or shampoo, bed poorly made (if at all) and a room service tray that remained outside my door for 36 hours. Looks to me like the Head of Housekeeping doesn't get out of the office much to supervise and oversight the work of the housekeeping staff. Overall, barely average Hyatt.

We had a great stay at Hyatt and one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time due to the overall comfort. Location was great so close to everything mostly walked to places we wanted to go. Room was very inviting and we were giving a free upgrade on arrival so we could check in straight away which we were so thankful for.

I did have a great stay here. Everything was clean, the room was extremely quiet- I didn’t hear a single room door shut or another voice while I was there. Staff were really nice, breakfast was nice but I just can’t quite agree that it’s a 5 star hotel. When I stay at 5 star hotels, I associate 5 stars along with beautiful scents in the lobby, walking into the hotel and feeling you’re somewhere special, staff are dressed impeccably, water in the room, fluffy robes to wear, heated pool, designer ammenities, ammenities provides that you didn’t even know that you need, a pillow menu (even if you don’t need it), turn down service etc. as I said, my stay was absolutely fine but it is not a 5 star hotel.

This was our first stay ay the Hyatt Brisbane but we took advantage of a Luxury Escapes deal and we were extremely impressed with the total package. It's unfortunate that the hotel has to use the car park under the Myer Center and I would think for week-end stay it would be perfect but on a Thursday it took a bit of effort to find a space, however after going around and around we eventually found one and there is a discount when validated through the hotel. The hotel is very well presented, the staff at the front desk very helpful in fact everywhere we went around the city people went out of their way. which made the break very pleasant. The room layout was interesting with the use of pocket doors around the bathroom which gave the room more of a larger look and it worked very well. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower excellent and facilities top class. The jazz band playing on Thursday night were probably a little too noisy especially if it was a romantic night but they softened it down after a while bit I think a piano or guitar would be more suitable. Nei behind the bar knew his wines, the food presented was above par, I had the beefburger and thought it was one of the best I have had for some time, I supect it may have been made in house as the chips looked hand cut, if not they were still above average. My wife's calamari was very tasty, the wine list adequate. Breakfast was excellent with eggs made to order and a good selection and a toaster that actually worked properly. Checking out was as efficient as checking in, full marks to a hotel that made the week-end more enjoyable.

I'm sharing my thoughts on my experience up to this point, which includes day three out of seven.

My stay at this hotel has been disappointing!!

While some staff members were helpful, others were disinterested and unhelpful. The lack of information regarding the hotel facilities and trading hours during check-in was surprising, and when I called to inquire, staff members frequently responded with "it's a good question" to even simple inquiries!!

The blankets in my room had a musty smell, as it had stayed wet for too long. Despite multiple requests for an additional blanket as I wasn't feeling well and felt cold, they sent us a mattress protector instead of a blanket, as apparently there wasn't even one extra blanket available in the whole hotel!!!!!!!

My partner and I required an extra desk and chair as we were planning to work from our room for a week, but despite several requests, we received no communication regarding availability. Shockingly, we were informed that there were no chairs and tables available in the entire hotel for us to use!!

When I inquired about places to visit on our way to Gold Coast and Byron Bay, the front desk team had no information available!!

On the positive side, the location of the hotel is superb if you want to be in the middle of the city, and the swimming pool is good.

Regarding parking, there was no parking available at the hotel during our stay. We had to park at the nearby Myer parking, and each time we entered or exited the parking lot, we had to pay, which can add up quickly.

The room service at this hotel is horrendous, indicating that no training has been provided. We were shocked when they took away our extra blanket without asking us, and they didn't even leave us with one towel!! Furthermore, they didn't change the bed sheet even though I noticed a night before that there was a bit of blood from my finger on the sheet which they didn't change. Is this really a 5-star hotel? The lack of attention to detail and basic amenities is disappointing.

Also my husband found broken glass next to the pool, which was a concerning safety issue. Unfortunately, there was no one around to clean it, so he had to take the glass to reception and ask them to send someone to clean it.

Overall, my experience at this hotel has been disappointing, and I'm not looking forward to the rest of my stay. The poor customer service, subpar accommodations, lack of helpful information, and unavailability of basic amenities were frustrating.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hyatt Regency! The location of the hotel is extremely convenient, especially for a first-time visitor like me. I was able to get to many interesting places around Brisbane without doing much research beforehand, simply by walking in the area around the hotel. Even museums in the South Bank area are within walkable distance. There is a Coles grocery store near the hotel as well, and they have a nice selection of fruits and prepackaged food. I found it very nice that I could just go back and have a coffee and rest in the room after walking the whole morning, before my afternoon excursions.

I was upgraded to a room on the top floor at check-in, and it has a beautiful view of the city hall area and the clock tower, which really defined my Brisbane experience. The room I was in was very stylishly furbished and comfortable, and it was very clean and neat. But I did notice some white mould around the upper shelves of the wooden closet in the bathroom area. I did not see them until I thought I sensed a musty smell and then saw them when looking up.

The breakfast at the hotel was another excellent experience. There was a great selection of food and the breakfast area has a nice view of the street outside. In particular, the lady at the omelette station was very nice and friendly, and she even remembered me on the second morning.

The staff members who helped me at both check in and check out were very nice as well, especially the staff who worked at the bell desk. He was very helpful with giving directions when I arrived and needed a place to park the car and help with my luggage.

I did have a weird experience my first night here though. As a solo traveller, I always slept in the centre of the bed at night, and line the pillows around the bed, and that is usually the position I find myself in in the mornings. But on the first night something seemed to have happened, because when I woke up in the morning, I was sleeping on only one side of the bed and two of the pillows that had been lined along the side of the bed were neatly placed back near the top of the bed on the other side, as if someone was sleeping there. I was also only using half the blanket, with the other half covering the other side of the bed, but there was no one there and no crease on that side of the bed. I only stayed there two nights, and this only happened on the first night, so I thought that was really weird. I always travel alone and this has never happened before so I am quite sure it wasn't me. Anyhow I thought that was an interesting little occurrence!

The property is located in the middle of city centre of Brisbane. Treasury casino is only a few steps away. There are many restaurants around the hotel, hence you don't have to think hard what to have for lunch/dinner. However these are the only good things about Hyatt Brisbane.

Room service needs a lot of improvements. I booked 2 rooms, service level for the 2 rooms were not comparable. For example, coffee pods were only refilled in one of the rooms. Bathroom mats were never provided until requested. Room service was not provided for the 2 rooms on 2nd Jan hence we had to take our trash out ourself and deposited them in the public rubbish bin just outside the hotel. 2 free bottles of sparkling wines provided on 31st Dec however were very much unexpected and very much appreciated. Coffee machine in room 2003 was non functional, however was replaced.

Excellent central location only 2 min walk.from the Brisbane Casino. Very helpful staff and clean rooms. Room service food was excellent. Valet parking was expensive compared to some but given city central location was worth it.
