The Hyatt Regency Brisbane garners appreciation for its modern and comfortable atmosphere, with rooms that are clean and well-maintained, though some guests find them on the smaller side. Its central location earns high marks for convenience to local attractions, though parking can be tricky.
While the service and amenities receive a mix of feedback, with mentions of friendly staff but also slow service at times, the pool and breakfast stand out positively. Opinions on value vary, with some guests questioning room quality and additional charges.

I recently stayed with my family at the Hyatt Regency Brisbane and had a comfortable experience, though there were a few minor issues.
Pros:
Location: Located in the CBD with bus transportation and landmarks within walking distance. A plethora of stores nearby adds to the convenience.
Service: Despite being year-end and their busiest time, the service was great. The concierge was always welcoming and greeted us when waiting for rides. They also promptly sent up requested items.
Bar Food: The breakfast and bar food were okay, nothing extraordinary but satisfactory.
Cons:
Staff Shortage: There seemed to be a shortage of staff, likely due to year-end time off.
Housekeeping Issues: Housekeeping did their job, but there were issues like being late to make up rooms and sometimes forgetting to refill waters despite specific requests with notes and tips.
Conclusion: Hyatt Regency Brisbane's excellent location and great service make it a solid choice for a family stay in the CBD. While there were minor inconveniences due to apparent staff shortages, the overall experience was pleasant. The attentive concierge service particularly stood out and added to the welcoming atmosphere.

The trip to Brisbane was made on a whim as we were in Syndey on vacation. Decided to drive up to visit some friends and booked the room. As a hyatt member the room included breakfast at a lower rate than just the room for a non hyatt member. We had a room at the higher level with river views. The view was excellent from the room, room was wonderful, breakfast was over the top. The bedding was crisp and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom slippers and shower robe was the frosting on the cake. Great stay.

Dear Cassie, Greetings from the Hyatt Regency Brisbane! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a great experience during your stay in Brisbane. It’s great to know that the room, river views, and breakfast all exceeded your expectations. We agree, there's nothing like crisp bedding and those little touches like slippers and a robe to make a stay extra special. We hope your spontaneous trip was as memorable as your stay with us! Looking forward to welcoming you again on your next visit. Safe travels! Kind Regards, Alexandra Clayton, Sales and Marketing Coordinator!

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I would say the hotel is designed around business clients rather than holiday guests. The rooms are dated and lacking in storage space for clothing etc. You cannot open a window even slightly to get fresh air and there are no balconies to the rooms. I would not class the bedrooms as 4 or 5 star accommodation. The rest of the hotel areas were fine. The sunloungers by the pool were very uncomfortable, again not what would be expected for a 4/5 star hotel. The service and breakfast could not be faulted and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I strongly suggest if considering this establishment - research other options! 1. Access to checkin reception situated up a rubishbin littered lane way. 2. No assistance available with bags to 2nd floor reception or from reception to room. 3 . WARNING! Foxtel not available in rooms 4. Small bottled water is available in room @$5. - No complimentary provided. 5. TV reception in room repeatedly ceased up ( I was informed due to wall mounting causing overheating)

We'd booked a 1 Queen and 1 Double Bed deluxe room for ourselves and our adult son. We were very pleasantly surprised to see that this was 2 adjoining rooms, and that the room with the double bed had it's own bathroom, TV, and separate entry door. The rooms were lovely. My only comment would be that next time we would ask for rooms not near the lifts if that was possible, just to avoid any noise from the lifts and people entering/exiting the lifts. The hotel entry is on the Queen Street Mall and is very close to restaurants, supermarkets, etc etc. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to many CBD (as they call downtown) locations and sights. Guests aren't paying for the outside appearance of the hotel thankfully. We had room 711/713 which becomes a 2 bedroom "suite" and that is ideal for family. Pool should be open later than 6 pm but that may be because July is winter in Brisbane. Check out Burnett Lane (don't bother with the mall side entrance). Death & Taxes bar, Antico and other restaurants, including Lune from Kate Reid in the mornings.

Had a very nice 3 night stay at the Hyatt Regency in a city view room on the 12th floor. Got a great rate close in which included valet parking and breakfast on luxury escapes.
I had come off a red eye flight and appreciated the reception allowing me to check in at 10am. Something that doesn't happen at all hotels.
This hotel is in arguably the best central cbd location in Brisbane. It's located right on queen st mall, the premier and main shopping precinct. The hotel is a little hard to find if coming by car. You have to turn in off Adelaide Road into a pedestrian mall area and then turn sharp right into Burnett lane. I must say the hotel is poorly signposted. If the hotel could make their signage more obvious that would help guests coming by car or Uber taxi drivers.
There's also an entrance down the escalator, straight on to the mall. Look for the Dymocks sign at the top end of the mall. I noticed there is a Coles downstairs in the opposite Uptown Mall.
The hotel is very well located with a 15 min walk to the glorious Southbank promenade, the Cat ferries and also the theatres. We enjoyed attending beauty and the beast musical and could walk there. The hotel is quintessentially Hyatt in my view with its contemporary lines and wood trims. The staff were polite and helpful.
The room, although compact, was reasonably newly refurbished and I appreciated the decent, responsive air con, comfy bed and usb plugs in the room.
If I were to suggest something I would say that the provision of fold out luggage racks in the rooms, would be helpful for those travelling with two suitcases. Also a couple of coat hooks in the hallway would improve the functionality of the room immensely.
Breakfast buffet was good enough.
We were able to checkout at 12pm due to being world of Hyatt and paid another $25 an hour to keep the room until 4pm.
I would return to this hotel again if visiting Brisbane on the back of the updated rooms and central location.

I'm sharing my thoughts on my experience up to this point, which includes day three out of seven.
My stay at this hotel has been disappointing!!
While some staff members were helpful, others were disinterested and unhelpful. The lack of information regarding the hotel facilities and trading hours during check-in was surprising, and when I called to inquire, staff members frequently responded with "it's a good question" to even simple inquiries!!
The blankets in my room had a musty smell, as it had stayed wet for too long. Despite multiple requests for an additional blanket as I wasn't feeling well and felt cold, they sent us a mattress protector instead of a blanket, as apparently there wasn't even one extra blanket available in the whole hotel!!!!!!!
My partner and I required an extra desk and chair as we were planning to work from our room for a week, but despite several requests, we received no communication regarding availability. Shockingly, we were informed that there were no chairs and tables available in the entire hotel for us to use!!
When I inquired about places to visit on our way to Gold Coast and Byron Bay, the front desk team had no information available!!
On the positive side, the location of the hotel is superb if you want to be in the middle of the city, and the swimming pool is good.
Regarding parking, there was no parking available at the hotel during our stay. We had to park at the nearby Myer parking, and each time we entered or exited the parking lot, we had to pay, which can add up quickly.
The room service at this hotel is horrendous, indicating that no training has been provided. We were shocked when they took away our extra blanket without asking us, and they didn't even leave us with one towel!! Furthermore, they didn't change the bed sheet even though I noticed a night before that there was a bit of blood from my finger on the sheet which they didn't change. Is this really a 5-star hotel? The lack of attention to detail and basic amenities is disappointing.
Also my husband found broken glass next to the pool, which was a concerning safety issue. Unfortunately, there was no one around to clean it, so he had to take the glass to reception and ask them to send someone to clean it.
Overall, my experience at this hotel has been disappointing, and I'm not looking forward to the rest of my stay. The poor customer service, subpar accommodations, lack of helpful information, and unavailability of basic amenities were frustrating.

The room was quite nice and spacious. However, if they tell you that breakfast is included when you check in, it's not. When I checked in I was told that everything was paid in full and breakfast was included. I don't normally eat breakfast but when it's included in the price I thought I would go down and have something. The selection was quite good and the food was nice. But I was very disappointed when I went to check out that I was charged about $125 for one person for 2 mornings. The breakfast wasn't nice enough for that price. I questioned the staff upon check out and they said that the charge is applied after the stay and that the room was paid in full. To which my response was don't tell people it's included if you are going to charge them. Or tell them they will be charged for it regardless of if they eat it and I would have eaten more.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hyatt Regency! The location of the hotel is extremely convenient, especially for a first-time visitor like me. I was able to get to many interesting places around Brisbane without doing much research beforehand, simply by walking in the area around the hotel. Even museums in the South Bank area are within walkable distance. There is a Coles grocery store near the hotel as well, and they have a nice selection of fruits and prepackaged food. I found it very nice that I could just go back and have a coffee and rest in the room after walking the whole morning, before my afternoon excursions.
I was upgraded to a room on the top floor at check-in, and it has a beautiful view of the city hall area and the clock tower, which really defined my Brisbane experience. The room I was in was very stylishly furbished and comfortable, and it was very clean and neat. But I did notice some white mould around the upper shelves of the wooden closet in the bathroom area. I did not see them until I thought I sensed a musty smell and then saw them when looking up.
The breakfast at the hotel was another excellent experience. There was a great selection of food and the breakfast area has a nice view of the street outside. In particular, the lady at the omelette station was very nice and friendly, and she even remembered me on the second morning.
The staff members who helped me at both check in and check out were very nice as well, especially the staff who worked at the bell desk. He was very helpful with giving directions when I arrived and needed a place to park the car and help with my luggage.
I did have a weird experience my first night here though. As a solo traveller, I always slept in the centre of the bed at night, and line the pillows around the bed, and that is usually the position I find myself in in the mornings. But on the first night something seemed to have happened, because when I woke up in the morning, I was sleeping on only one side of the bed and two of the pillows that had been lined along the side of the bed were neatly placed back near the top of the bed on the other side, as if someone was sleeping there. I was also only using half the blanket, with the other half covering the other side of the bed, but there was no one there and no crease on that side of the bed. I only stayed there two nights, and this only happened on the first night, so I thought that was really weird. I always travel alone and this has never happened before so I am quite sure it wasn't me. Anyhow I thought that was an interesting little occurrence!
