Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is overpriced and offers no value for Bonvoy members. During check-in, the front desk person insisted that I received an upgrade, but I asked him to check my reservation. After that, he admitted that the room was not available for an upgrade. He tried to lie about my upgrade but admitted it when I challenged his standard message. The room was small but functional, and it was on a lower floor even though I paid extra for a higher floor. He said the hotel was fully booked. I found it very overpriced for what they offered, which was nothing. I would advise against paying extra for your rooms! If you must, book the cheapest room. Or find another hotel My status went down from the prior year because of this incident. I don't see many benefits as a Bonvoy member and have started staying at other hotels.

Really enjoyed our stay in the Marriott Brisbane, arrived early for check in and room was available straight away, with an amazing river view. The hotel bar was buzzy and good drinks selection. Front desk staff were super helpful. Recommend for a stay in Brisbane.

Please forward this to your guest experience manager Have stayed here many times and I feel the service has dropped off dramatically. We arrived after I had a day procedure that morning. Not feeling great, arrived and no assistance offered with our bags., so we struggled up to our floor. Other guests were offered a glass of wine…. Not us.Room was nice, but no minibar - the fridge was completely empty. Parking was $30 per night which is ridiculous for a 2 night stay. Had dinner t the restaurant and we weren’t allowed to be seated a a window table…..table remained empty for our entire time. We were allocated a table that appeared to have a dripping ceiling over it. When we mentioned the drips that were landing on us we were told by 2 wait staff that it was a known issue…. No offer to move us. Left to be dropped on while eating our meal. Now feeling like 2nd class guests! On our last evening the lights failed in the room at around 10-30. We we rising early and hoped it would resolve itself overnight….No - trying to pack in the dark was not great. All in all $330 a night without breakfast was disappointing to say the least and we won’t be back

Good Location by the riverbank, rooms where fine, pretty typical of a Marriott hotel or any other 3/4 star hotel. Breakfast in the lounge was good, they had a decent selection, staff very helpful. Parking was pretty pricy but I would think you expect that in any hotel in Brisbane.

My husband and I spent 5 nights in the Marriott in Brisbane. There was a mix up with BonVoy as they had sent a confirmation of our suite reward request and at check in there was not a suite available. The most lovely lady at reception, Sheryl and Hayden tried to accommodate our room request. As it turned out we were happy with our bridge view room. The staff are all so friendly. We enjoyed the location as you can walk everywhere. We just want to say that we really appreciated the effort and look forward to our stay with you again on January 22. Best regards Dwaine and Lana BLEAKLEY.

Location is perfect. Great views of the river and the bridge from the room. Staff were all very helpful and particularly the concierge staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. The restaurant was nice and we had access to the club floor which was a perfect place to stop at the end of the day for me and my 2 teens.

Very good CBD hotel. We loved the fact that it was very close to everywhere we wanted to go. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. Valet parking, Sanju Joseph and the concierge team were fab and made the effort to try and connect with us every time we got our car. It was nice to have that personal touch. We went to the executive lounge for breakfast. Was a bit hit and miss and often missing things and food gone and not replaced, plates not cleared and things not replaced. We opted to go out for dinners as the restaurant menu didn’t look very kid friendly. Enjoyed many a swim in the pool. More attention needed as often it was several hours between servicing down there and they ran out of towels etc. Overall a great stay though

We had stayed at the Brisbane Marriot twice before our current stay. The previous two stays were fantastic with a great room, super helpful staff and great food down in the lobby level restaurant. However, this changed drastically for the worse at our current stay. Reception staff told us there were no rooms available when there were, several mistakes with our orders in the restaurant downstairs and staff got agitated with room change requests or other requests to bring things up to the room. There are a few outstanding employees still there like Danielle and Lloyd down on concierge. However, despite some other staff being friendly they let us down in many respects and we were not made to feel welcome despite being Marriott Bonvoy members.

Dear 25dc, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback from your recent stay. I was delighted to read that you have stayed at the hotel multiple times previously and have enjoyed these stays. On this occasion however, I can see that we fell short of your expectations. Was given room on the 5th floor . The hallway was not air conditioned which was concerning. My room took 6 hours to cool down from 81 degrees to 72 ( 26 Celsius to 22). I asked hotel to disable the motion sensor so when I left the room would not get hot. They declined. I returned 4 hours later and the room was hot again. I had to change rooms. This should not happen!

Dear csteets, Thank-you for sharing details of your recent experience at our hotel and bringing to our attention that the air conditioner in your guest room was not functioning correctly. A comprehensive rooms maintenance program is completed on each guest room multiple times each year, and I apologize that on this occasion your stay was disrupted by an air conditioning issue. The maintenance team have attended to the issue and do not expect any further recurrence. It was good to see that the reception team were able to offer you a move to another room to make the remainder of your stay more comfortable. Thank-you once again for your comments and allowing us to improve our service. Kind regards, Jade Farquharson Executive Assistant - Brisbane Marriott Hotel
