Located in a strategic spot, the Brisbane Marriott Hotel garners praise for its prime location and sweeping river views, making it a hit for families and business travelers alike. While the hotel's cleanliness often receives commendations for spotless rooms, some guests have pointed out maintenance and housekeeping inconsistencies that mar the experience.
Despite the spacious rooms, the value proposition is questioned due to the high prices, with reviewers highlighting outdated amenities and additional fees that dampen the perceived worth. Service quality also varies, with mentions of helpful staff alongside reports of unresponsiveness and delays.

Detailed Reviews
My wife and I spent 8 nights at the Marriott Brisbane Hotel. We had a river view room and despite the many tall buildings along the river, our view was substantially clear of any buildings blocking the view. The hotel is in a great CBD location very close to the Brisbane river and easy walking distance to the Storey Bridge, Howard Smith and Eagle Street Piers (great bars and restaurants) as well as access to the river ferry services. There is also a handy convenience store at the back of the hotel in Howard Street and we felt safe in the surrounding areas at all times.
Staff were absolutely amazing (other than one or 2 exceptions who seemed to want to make things difficult). We ate at the hotel's Motions Dining restaurant several times and found the staff their so incredibly friendly and helpful. They accommodated menu & dietary changes without any hesitation, were super friendly in recommending places to visit and the food was very fresh and tasty. The food sometimes did take a long time to come out but was worth the wait. To Emily, your NZ waitress and the entire team at Motions dining, THANK YOU for everything you did to make our meals and trip to Brisbane so memorable.
The concierge team are absolutely incredible. So polite and helpful with dinner recommendations and assistance with directions.when taking the car out of Valet Parking. To Lloyd and all of you - a BIG thank you too !
Our room was spacious, comfortable and very quiet at all times. Our only criticism was the pillows were just to soft. We ended up having to go and buy our own pillows and we were quite disappointed no reimbursement was offered to us by the hotel, especially as we are Marriott Bonvoy Members. However, the hotel did try their best to find suitable pillows for us before we resorted to buying our own.
In the end we left feeling that some of the staff were now our friends rather than hotel employees. We hope to come back again one day soon !

I stayed here just 1 night but had a pleasant stay. They upgraded my room to a River view just because I am a high ranking Bonvoy member which was appreciated. They even to my room a complementary bottle of wine and some peanut brittle which was a nice touch and allowed me to access their computer in their top floor for printing out documents. The room itself was lovely and modern and I had a restful sleep. The room temperature was easy to set and and allowed perfect room airflow. Overall, this 1 night experience is what I've come to expect with Marriott and it's the main reason why I keep staying at their hotels. I did not have time to try their other facilities including fitness room, pool, and spa. Nor did I try their breakfast or restaurants... there simply wasn't enough time. The other aspect of the hotel I enjoyed was the close proximity to the River and city center. It was such a perfect location to the heart of the city.

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott for the sixth time in 13 months from 22-29 December 2019 because it is our favourite hotel in Brisbane. The rooms are very comfortable and spotless and the staff are always very welcoming and willing to make you feel at home, especially Samantha, Elizabeth and Alina in the Executive Lounge, Jonathan from the Concierge and Kathleen at the Reception desk. Perhaps our only criticism is that the staff at the Reception desk has no knowledge of the Club Marriott membership benefits and we always have to spend a long time explaining to them about this and producing unnecessary documentation. The fact that there are different members of staff at the Reception every day desk does not help at all. There is an urgent need for the staff to be informed about this to avoid situations like this. Apart from this everything went fine. Excellent hotel.

Grandparents and two Granddaughters 13 and 10 and a family room that consisted of two very small 'double' beds. Cleanliness was mediocre as on moving the one lounge chair in the room it revealed dirt and an empty bottle of water. The towels in the bathroom were threadbare and one in particular was very frayed along the edge. After checking in about 2.30pm we went to the restaurant for afternoon tea only to be told that High Tea needed to be ordered 24 hours in advance. Nothing sweet was available other than desert. Youngest Granddaughter ordered a milkshake, it was warm and mostly bubbles. Breakfast was buffet style with a poor selection of bread and freshly made omelets that were dry and tasteless. On the bright side the staff were exceptionally helpful and lovely.

Hotel Quarantine Brisbane - I cannot fault this beautiful hotel for making our quarantine experience as five star as possible. It’s tricky for all involved but the food is amazing. Taking the care to give us printed menus for the day. Delivering outside orders promptly. Really super helpful staff doing all they can with the restrictions imposed on both sides. Just thank you so much Marriott Brisbane. I was super nervous and anxious about 14 days in a room without an open window or a balcony. However, despite neither the room is immaculate, spacious, and great city view. The bathroom has a separate bath, again all immaculate. The air con vent is clear of dust. We feel blessed to have been allocated a hotel that truly cares about it’s quarantine guests. Thank you so so so so much. And to El Chef - the food is amazing, nutritious and delicious (thank you)

We recently spent 14 days in a very small room without access to sunlight or fresh air looking out on the buildings in Adelaide Street. A very small bar fridge and kettle were the only facilities provided. I had been in Sydney for surgery and needed to use heat and gel packs for my rehab however there was no freezer nor microwave available. The staff were accomodating although the ice that I had requested 3 times each day arrived randomly. The food was all but inedible. Sometimes it was impossible to work out what we were eating particularly when, in desperation, we changed to vegetarian which came with no description.
I’ve read the positive reviews posted earlier and I can only assume that quarantine fatigue has set in with chefs etc as this is my worst experience in accomodation anywhere in the world and I have travelled to some pretty interesting places.

We recently had the wonderful occasion to stay at the Brisbane Marriot from 21st February to the 23rd February. We were in the Kangaroo Point suite, 2716 which was beautifully presented and very well equipped. The highlight of our stay was the wonderful staff!
Particularly Rambir in the Motion restaurant, both at our High tea and Buffet breakfast Sunday morning. His pleasant and professional attitude was very much appreciated likewise, Kartia, Samantha (sorry may be Stephanie?) and team in the Executive lounge were also friendly, professional, attentive and very welcoming. All our needs and wants were met with smiles and kindness.
From the warm welcome at the car entrance & then check in to collecting our car as we checked out, all the team assisted with smiles and ensured everything was to our liking.
Once again, we’re reminded why we love the Brisbane Marriott, the people!
As we were a family gathered for the weekend to celebrate our dear Mum’s 80th Birthday, we couldn’t have ask for anything better. Our Mum had the perfect celebrations.
Thanks to all

Still a nice place to stay
Even though some parts of the hotel are looking little long in the tooth, carpets are getting a bit old, elevator are frustrating when the buttons don’t match up.
However The rooms are comfortable, awesome pillows and the hotel is close to the city. Great gym and the lobby area and bar are a good place in the evening.
Beds were comfortable even though the air on didn’t seem to be working overly well, and occasionally made a sound like a lawn mower starting up.
The shower has a setting of either scolding hot or tepid warm to cold.
However for work it’s a great place to stay and I really enjoy the vibe.

Given that this is being marketted as 5 star, I would beg to differ. Some improvements are needed on the soft product, on the service side, the staff are doing all they can given the shortage and hearing that staff would rather work at the Westin or W Brisbane.Given the price I paid, I would recommend the The Calile.
Staff at the front desk are fine, There is no lunch at the hotel, and the dining options late night are limited to wraps, which when jetlagged is dissapointing if you would like something warm.
The underware in my laundry came unfolded (while not a huge thing, the lack of care is highlighted considering it was expensive), dumped into a bag and included a special Gstring from someone else.
Overall, when similiarly priced against the Westin, I would consider staying there when next in Brisbane. They had apparently put in 20mAUD into this hotel recently, not sure where it went as it looks like a typical early 2000s design.

Dear Gregory, Thank you for taking the time to share details of your experience following your recent stay with us. While the guest comments we receive are generally complimentary to the hotel product, we will use your comments as a training tool to maintain an even greater focus on our cleaning and maintenance programs. I am also pleased to advise that we will be launching a new Restaurant, Bar and In-Room Dining menu this week which will address the concerns you have raised with our current lunch and overnight food offerings. Thank you also for letting us know about the issue with your laundry - I had not previously been made aware of any issues regarding our laundry service and will address those issues directly. Thank you for sharing feedback from your recent stay and once again I apologise for the service shortfalls experienced. I do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel when your travels next bring you back to Brisbane. Kind regards, Kelvin Ramm General Manager Brisbane Marriott Hotel
