This is our second time staying here. We came back because of a great experience a year earlier. We stay here when visiting friends on the north side of Brisbane and while traveling to or from the Sunshine Coast. Great location with easy access to the freeway north, Chermside shopping centre, and cafes and restaurants of Sandgate and Redcliffe. Very friendly and courteous staff.

Yet another great visit to Aspley Carsel. We booked the room 20 or 21 I can't remember the number but the room near the pool. I think we might have had a miscommunication as we got room 14 but that being said it was just as good as the other room. I just like privacy when having a smoke is all, that being said not many people are outside so it wasn't too bad. I was very happy that the owner still had the room ready for us after returning from Asia even though my card had failed while I was away. He didn't bother me with emails asking for payment. I called him from the Airport to let him know we were on our way and he said the key is in the safe box ready for me. The next morning after I woke up and was outside is when he mentioned my card failed and if I could fix up the payment which was no problem. I guess from my last review of enjoying my stay so much he took a chance for me that I still wanted the room. Very much appreciated and I will be back again. The room was very clean and we all slept very well. Only a few minor things could have made the stay a little better. The door makes a noise each time you open it to go out and the shower head squeals the hotter the water the louder it gets. But the shower head still still gives a good shower. Oh, and I am a big coffee drinker I used up all the coffee and some of the tea but I guess I could have asked for some more. Again the owner stopped to chat for about 10 minutes. Very friendly and easy to speak to. When treated as a guest and not just another customer like other hotels do it makes the visit so much more enjoyable. We will see you again. WiFi was slow at times but mostly good. The room has everything you need. Thanks...

Have stayed on a number of occasions when going to entertainment center for concerts. Love the friendly welcome, the ease of check in, rooms are well appointed and always clean and tidy. For the first time ever I got an upgrade to a king deluxe room for being returning customer. The mattress was the best bed I've sleep in outside of my own, and when you suffer with a back condition this matters a lot.
Definitely will be back and highly recommend this place.

An older style motel on a very busy main road.
The traffic woke me once or twice during the nights I stayed.
The room was clean & spacious, though the bathroom had a stale smell even with the window open.
I didn’t see any meal availability but there are plenty of eating options within 5 minutes.
The pool looked good but I decided against it as there were too many people enjoying it so I went back to the cool of my room. The air conditioning works great in the heat.
Parking is free, though it wasn’t close to my upstairs room.

This place is so nice to stay in. Lovely spacious room with great facilities… very clean and comfortable. The guy at reception was so happy and friendly and even changed our room location for us. This looks to have been recently renovated. So much nicer (and more affordable) than some we have stayed at on the Gold Coast. Would definitely recommend.

We spent several days here. The pool and spacious well-equipped kitchen were a real plus. There is a laundry and breakfast is available if required. It was an ideal base to explore the Moreton Bay area and the Sunshine Coast. Owner Ross and his missus deserve credit for a well-run operation

I travel to Aspley a few times a year for business and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The Carsel Inn is walking distance from shops, restaurants and pubs, so ideal when travelling if you don't have a car.
The rooms are large and clean. The bed is comfy. The owners are wonderful people who accommodate to their guests where ever they can and the price affordable.

Well situated on the Gympie Rd the Aspley Carsel Motor Inn was a good choice for our recent trip to QLD to visit family. Our Clean, bright affordable room was well appointed and despite being on a major road the traffic noise was unnoticeable. Friendly, helpful staff made the stay pleasant. Would definitely return.

Had a good feeling about our room, right from the first walk through the door. My Daughter and I stayed in Room #23, which is situated on ground level towards the back of the property. This was the Deluxe Queen Twin Share Room, with a Queen bed and Single bed configuration (each bed was triple sheeted).
The room was quiet, our large back window overlooked a dead end street. Both the bathroom and bedroom windows had security screens, which made us feel safe. All was clean and tidy and set out to give a feeling of spaciousness.
Bathroom had ample floor space with good wiggle room in the shower cubicle and around the toilet.
All rooms had carparks, some are a little tight if you have a large car.
Management were nice and helpful, offering assistance to us in their communications before, during and after our stay. A few days prior to arrival, I emailed asking if we could book in and take our room key around midday. Promptly received an email back advising that it was okay and that our room should be ready for us at that time, which it certainly was when we arrived.
Motor Inn is handy to Chermside Shopping Centre (first 3 hours parking free), Strathpine, Bald Hills and Bracken Ridge areas. Although situated on the main road into Brisbane City, we had no problem entering and leaving the property by car.
Plenty of food outlets within a km radius of accommodation, and also pamphlets in our room of businesses that do phone order delivery. Motor Inn does offer room service breakfast, which needs to be ordered the evening before.
If you're looking for accommodation on the north side of Brisbane, Aspley Carsel Motor Inn is one of the better places to stay.
