When we first arrived I was surprised that the apartments are a 15 minute drive out of the city centre,although very close to the airport. I was concerned that my research had let me down, however my initial hesitance was soon overcome as actually the Alcyone is in an excellent location.
It is situated on a new development on the river where there are plenty of shops ,restaurants, supermarkets and a cafes right outside the door
A short walk away is a ferry terminal with regular fast and inexpensive ferries which travel into the city centre and other visitor attractions . A really pleasant and interesting trip on the river.
The apartments themselves are modern, clean, well equipped with a separate restaurant downstairs which is open 24/7 and offers excellent food and drink at a reasonable price
All the reception staff were very helpful and friendly

I stayed here for 4 weeks on business. The room was bright clean large and airy. My room was on the Kingsford Smith Drive side so had significant road noise but the room & location made up for that. Our family 3 of us stayed at the apartment hotel for 3 nights during the new year 2023, when we checked in we were be told the rooms would be cleaned everyday but public holiday, we booked 3 nights none of the days our rooms be cleaned even it was not public holiday. We payed the cleaning fee but our rooms not be cleaned, we should get refund for the cleaning fee. So disappointed.

My husband and 4 year old daughter stayed here for 8 days. We actually left / early checked out from another hotel/apartment in fortitude valley that was terrible and dirty and came to this one and it was a lovely difference.
Alcyone is well decorated, equiped with everything you need to cook meals, working and clean washer / dryer.
We had 2 bathrooms, a room with a king and a room with a queen.
We also had a balcony with table and chairs. The kitchen what’s a dishwasher and full size fridge.
We used the pool and outdoor areas a couple of times. The pool is very deep so need to supervise kids closely.
Housekeeping visited once during our stay.
Only thing I would change was having some proper curtains in the lounge area because it made our room very light early in the morning.
Staff are friendly and helpful. All round very good accomodation.
Also highly recommended cafe H that is right outside - you can order online easily and they are open early / late with breakfast lunch dinner all day.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. We enjoyed feeling like we were staying in a full apartment versus just a normal hotel room. Having a full kitchen was a treat. The balcony was lovely too. The bed was very comfortable. The convenience to 24 hour cafe is nice, along with several other options within an easy walk, including the IGA grocery store.

Stayed here one night prior to our cruise.
The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. So lovely to be talk to.
Location of this hotel is close to airport, however we booked this hotel for its proximity to the cruise terminal, not realising the terminal has moved, so it was a $40 taxi fare to terminal.
The location is fab though if you have children. A fantastic park located across the road, and if you ask reception they have ping pong bets/balls and a basketball.
The cafe downstairs is open 24/7!! Great coffee and simple meals. The location is also great with IGA downstairs, ice cream shop, a variety of restaurants & a cinema.
The pool looked lovely as did the bbq area, & gym however as we were only there one night we didn’t get to experience it.
Our room was neat and tidy with a small laundry/kitchen which was handy.
The only downside was the strong smell of cigarettes from the hallway of level 10. I suspect this was from permanent residents. Our room also had an overpowering scent which I suspect was the ‘signature scent’ and as I’m sensitive to smells it made me quite nauseated.
We really enjoyed our stay here & would recommend.

We stayed just one night before going North the next day. Proximity to the airport is good and our apartment was very well appointed and very clean. We had returned from an offshore island so having a washing machine and dryer was a bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful and recommended some places nearby for dinner, we chose Birds Nest Japanese and it was delicious.

We stayed here for one night with included parking (booked in advance). Hotel staff are friendly but there is little contact with them - we only saw the one person at reception throughout our stay (not the same person of course). Parking is good - a bit tight to get in if you have a big car / 4WD.
Room is good and comfortable, bathroom is small, bed is very comfortable and the AC works well
Kitchen is well equipped, bottled water is available at cost ($3.50 a bottle Dec 2022).
My only real gripe is that having stayed here a year ago in much the same room, the price has increased by $128 per night (from $206 to $334) which in my opinion is excessive for what you get.

All very good as usual. Reception staff always go 1 step further to assist. my suggestion is to check the condition of the mattresses as I've noticed that on my return stays they are becoming consumed and hence bowed. Another request is that the gym needs to be aired more often with disinfectants. although the cleanliness generally is very good, the gym area needs greater attention
