It was comfortable, neat, tidy and in the ideal location to be able to get around Fortitude Valley/City. Ubers were easy to order and catch.

The room was great and amazing colour scheme, shower was large and had all the supplies you may want (including dressing gowns)
The bed was very comfortable and they provided a range of pillows types.

Very happy with the reception staff, friendly and very accommodating. They operate 24/7 which i found very helpful.

They offer early check in (1200h) and later check out (1500h) for a additional fee which is more expensive then others near location.

Public Car parking that is located behind and under the hotel has a flat fee which is reasonable ($17) but has limited car spaces.

Overall my experience was remarkable and I will stay at another Sage Hotel again!

I spent 2 nights at the Sage Hotel last week during a visit to Brisbane to attend a wedding. The hotel is in James St Fortitude Valley close to eateries, markets and a variety of shops. There is secure parking under the hotel for a cost of $17 per night. A lift takes you from the carpark to the hotel lobby. There is bike hire opposite if you would like to head out for a ride. The area is also in a great location for walkers. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was in the centre of the hotel and looked out into an internal area that contained decorative metal frames. The window was able to be opened. It was very quiet and block out curtains darkened the room making for a great night’s sleep. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was ample room to store clothes and luggage in a cupboard in the bathroom. An iron and ironing board were there for your use along with a hair dryer, toiletries and towels. The room also contained a coffee machine and electric kettle if tea was your preference. A drawer below contained the equipment needed for the beverage of your choice. Milk was provided in the fridge. A large screen TV with access to a variety of movies was on the wall. Due to Covid bath robes, notepaper, pens etc have been removed from rooms, but are available from reception if needed.
Unfortunately there are no restaurants in the hotel. I am quite happy to venture out for lunch and dinner, but would have loved to have been able to have breakfast on site. There are places nearby where breakfast can be obtained.
A great hotel for a short break in Brisbane.

The small but comfortable room was perfect for a solo traveller staying in this area of the city on a mid-week night. The staff are welcoming and gave good advice regarding available parking and dining options in the immediate area (of which there are many). The available desk space/work station is quite small but didn't impact on my stay. Perfectly serviceable for one night but would take a larger room if I was there for any longer than one night.

1. Advertises free shuttle;
No longer operates

2. Advertises pool and gym;
Does not mention the fact that it's via a voucher system and located at a different location with a different business.

3. Room service was ad hoc and something missed every day, including;
* cleaning cloth left in room on table
* no fresh towels twice
* used towels left behind even when fresh ones left
*cups and glasses not replaced with clean ones
* face cloth only replaced once
* bath mat missing and not replaced most days
* bed not made properly once;
First day the bottom sheet was not even straightened.
Subsequent days bottom sheet was pulled up so that 40 cm at bottom of mattress had no coverage

4. No toilet brush supplied so we couldn't clean after use; worse still, it was not cleaned during servicing either; not once, so it remained visibly dirty for several days.

5. Tubes of personal use items only replaced randomly, so sometimes product was not available.

6. Reporting deficiencies to front desk did not result in room being serviced properly. Just a mumbled apology with no eye contact.
We had to request towels on our last evening.

7. Literature in room indicates a breakfast service, but upon enquiry we were referred to nearest open cafe.

A wonderful place to stay! A special shout out to Kate on the front desk, who went above and beyond with her customer service, printing our documents and doing a photocopy for us.
The location is excellent - right next to the trendy James St precinct, 10 min walk to Howard Smith wharves and 10 min walk to gasworks (right where you want to be!)
The hotel has a lot of unexpected nice touches - like fancy MOR brand conditioner and moisturisers, free iced tea in the lobby, takeaway cocktails for sale in cute jars, and a coffee bar in the foyer. It’s also got pet friendly rooms!
The rooms were comfortable, clean and modern. The bed was comfy with great pillows, the TV was massive, the WiFi worked well, and the shower pressure was great.
The only thing that wasn’t great was the view out our window - we looked straight onto a cement wall. I suppose that’s luck of the draw though!

We could not fault our stay. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were spotlessly clean and well fitted out. It was very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area and truely you would be hard pressed to be In a better location. Close to shops, restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in the Fortitude Valley district. Honestly no complaints what ever. They were also very happy to take a booking for just one night whereas other hotels were looking for at least a 2 night stay. Great hotel - delightful staff. Will definitely stay again.

I requested a courtyard room as I had stayed there before - it was a nice room overlooking the rear of the premises. This time the room was very poky and claustrophobic with an internal courtyard that looked like you were looking into a prison cell with a privacy screen that was open (not private). It was not inviting at all any plants and only a cheap-looking chair and table. I didn't even use it.
I paid $180 per night. On top of this, there was a lot of confusion around parking and as such, I paid parking to go in and then on top of that additional parking each time until I was told that I could get an unlimited day pass. I didn't find the reception staff inviting at all if anything the staff who checked me in was very unhelpful.
I would never stay at The Sage again.

We were a family of four who stayed in a deluxe twin and had a great stay. The hotel is modern and fresh, sparkly clean but not overdone. The room was large and spacious and had everything we needed, plus lots of nice extra touches, like a coffee machine, and loads of hanging, storage space, and nice bathroom products. No onsite restaurant, but close enough to many, and good room service options for local eateries. The hotel is close to great cafes and restaurants, the valley, and importantly, plenty of fun things for the kids, like the New Farm Park and child friendly Talking Toucan cafe down he street. Lots of street parking, or a 25 dollar garage. This was perfect, and good value for money. We will return next time we are in Brisbane.

We enjoyed our stay in a King Deluxe Room for 4 nights. The room was very clean, and well equiped with a bar fridge, coffee machine, iron / ironing board and robes. We could not hear any street noise in our street-facing room on the forth floor.

The bathroom was quite spacious, with a full-sized bath and two basins. The floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom made the area feel more spacious. The balcony ran the entire length of the room, and we were lucky enough to have a view of the city.

The hotel is in a great location on James Street, with plenty of food and shopping options nearby. NoDo, King Arthur and Blue Bear Cafe all serve great coffee!

The rooms have a small bar fridge with no freezer. There is only the coffee machine and electric jug. I’m not sure how you would manage meals over 8 days.
