If you like boogers on the walls and sleeping under a doona that smells like every person before you then this is the place for you. If I'm completely honest, I felt nauseous looking at the wall in my bed so was out and about as much as possible. The lack of cleaning in the dorms however was made up... More

Take my advice do not stay in this hostel, it is a disgrace. The place is so dirty. The minute you enter the hostel it looks old and filthy. The rooms and bathrooms are worse. There was a smell of vomit in my room and a vomit stain. We booked a private room hoping they would be a bit nicer.... More

Got to the hostel and I couldn't even tell which bed was mine there was so much stuff everywhere. I think they were probably long term residents as there was stuff all over the floor and all over other beds, etc. I got up to my bed and there was a dark hair on my supposedly clean pillow. Looked up... More

We only have one good thing to say about this accomodation: That the staff was very helpfull and friendly. Except from that, we had a terrible visit. The sheet had stains on it when we got there, there was cockroaches in the shower and i got "stabbed" in the back by a broken spring when I lay on the bed.... More

I booked here for location. I'd seen it had mixed reviews over different websites so I thought I'd give it a go. I was on a 6 bed dorm whereby 3 are obviously long term stayers and have taken over the whole of the floor space with their clothes, food and general "stuff". The room is not cleaned throughly and... Thank you for taking the time to write us a review Melanie. We are sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience. Our share dorms do have a few long-term stayers and the rooms tend to get “live in”. However, our reception is open 24 hours, and we encourage guests to come and speak with us at any time if they... More

The hostel is really well located, opposite Central station and a 5 minute walk to the Queen St Mall. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Especially Laura at the travel desk who booked my east coast trip for me! I was in a single room, it was basic but clean, as were the bathrooms. There was a bit... More

Will start with the good points: The BEST kitchen we've had while travelling down the East Coast. It is constantly kept clean by staff, lots of storage space, plenty of pots and pans, and a large seating area. Can't fault it. Comfortable beds, and we stayed in room 401 which was a really good size for six people (I think... More

We have been travelling the east coast of Australia for about two months now and stayed in numerous hostels. Nomads Brisbane by far has been the absolute worst experience of my time in Australia thus far. The entire place is covered in filth, from my dirty bed sheets to the poo-covered toilets to the other guests. The rooms are dominated... More

The hostel is very central and the staff are lovely, but it's situated right over a bar, with shouting and screaming going on until well after 2am every morning. Barely slept whilst there, ending up checking out early.

Booked here with a friend for two nights in a 12 bedroom female deluxe. Put in a 8 bed female dorm. Good points first - location great right outside central station, the building is so cute and has a lot of character, lots of help to book tours here and the staff on the desk are slow but friendly. Bad... More

All rooms are secured via electronic keycards, while you can keep your valuables doubly secured with our supplied lockers. Linen is also provided so there's no need to bring your sleeping bag! If the sun's not your thing then we also have common areas to kick back, relax, and get some quality tv time; that or cook up a feast in our guest kitchen! If you're looking for work, why not let our Job Club give you a nudge in the right direction? Likewise, our friendly travel desk staff don't just know everything about the beautiful South-East Queensland - they can give you advice about anywhere in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific! Downstairs the Down Under Bar is where you can go full on, flat out! Come on down to Brisbane's most famous backpacker bar where you can win great prizes, dance the night away, or even meet Mr/Mrs Right (or Mr/Mrs Right Now!).
