Booked a studio apartment. The photos advertised online look nothing like the actual room. The room was very cheap and nasty. No fan or air con in bedroom, only Ac in lounge area. The pictures advertised a big table with 5 chairs on balcony.... in reality it was a tiny round table with ONE little metal chair. When I arrived I was calling from the front doors unable to get in. I stood there watching the receptionist just sit there doing nothing, letting the phone ring! I had to go and tap on the glass so she would open the doors.

for $155 a night in April 2019, I've never forgotten how bad this place was and would advise to avoid this place. Its so dirty you're uncomfortable the whole night. There is something itchy in the carpet and every surface seemed to be grimy. Its old and run down.

The whole place stinks from the rubbish chute so when you get out of the lift it’s like walking into a refuse tip. Pans and cutlery (what there was!) was filthy. Cutlery draw was disgusting. Stains on carpet. Linen stained, pillows and doonas stained. Balcony filthy. Bedroom blind broken. Dryer intermittently worked. Inadequate furniture. No cleaning items such as broom or mop. Vaccuum cleaner had no wand to it. No dust pan. No cleaning products. Chipped crockery. Son and I told we were not allowed to play with a ball or inflatable ring in pool yet people were allowed to smoke around pool. BBQs locked and unusable. Sent email to try and rectify issues. They sorted some issues out but not all. Do not stay here!

Chosen for convenience because family live in the complex. The common areas are bright, the pool is lovely. The apartments available for rental are privately owned I believe so dealings are with individual owners. Booking was easy, key pick up was exactly as advised. The studio apartment is on the pool level, so windows are quite shaded by plants (for privacy) so it's a bit dark. The ceiling fans are wonderful (once you've worked out how to get them started - maybe some hints?) . Good amenities - well appointed kitchen with appliances, great fridge. Washing machine and dryer if required. Bed is a Murphy, very comfortable. I guess the only down is the bathroom - the drain odour is rather bad, I suspect not just this apartment? and the sofa needs a bit more stuffing. The shower is a good one so for the convenience and the location I'd stay here again.

Officially the worse stay I've ever had. I've been prompted to send in this to prepare other people.
First - it's not a 4-star hotel
Inability to check-in, I arrive just after 8pm coming from the airport. The check-in process took until - I kid you not! 1am. They have this insane process of emailing through you passport and credit card details. If you are an international traveller, you will need to organise Wifi in advanced to upload the photos and credit card details. I tried giving my credit card number over the phone, but due to the language barrier, I spend about 45 mins (Nearly $100 phone bill) repeat back numbers again and again.
They couldn't process our company card remotely and so I had to repeat the process with my personal card.
Checking in Once I finally when through a crazy game of find and seek, looking for mailboxes, grabbing letters, getting pins, collecting keys, I finally got to my room and it had people in the room.
So again, had to phone the "receptionist" tell them someone was in the room, wait while they call their manager. Wait while they pick a new room.
Head back outside the hotel, play find the mailbox, find the pin, enter the pin, find the key and head back up.
This was a F#%^ crazy experience, needless to say, I have a new worst ever stay!
If you are in Brisbane and you need an option, Base backers have private rooms for half the price and 24/7 reception. Just book in before midnight.

It’s an older place, but it is nice and roomy and the pool looks amazing. Although when arriving, you aren’t allowed into reception very easy as the doors are locked. And you aren’t allowed to Park out the front, you are told to move your car to the car park, then you have to Come inside to get your booking and get in your car and move it again. It would be much quicker to park out the front, go in and check in then park your car and head straight to your room.

If you want to stay somewhere that tells you the information you need - don't stay here! You can't get into the building to check in because it also has apartments - there is also no concierge outside to let you in - you just have to wait until someone activates the sensor from inside, because reception won't come to help. Be careful when leave by your deposit, mine was also my money to get me to the airport, some places put it straight back on your card - or at least inform you of how this is taken - not cathedral place... their concierge did not tell me anything when it was taken and told me a taxi is the best option to get to the airport - did not mention Uber, buses, train or airport pickup bus services. Hallway on second floor has a constant curry smell. Apartment has everything you need, had a 'once over' clean - mould and stained carpet. Overall nice - but mistakes and general lack of sentiment leaves a stain on my time in Brisbane. Will it be coming back.

I booked Cathedral Place for New Years Eve - unfortunately I was stuck in China for business at the time of my booking. I tried to let them know as soon as possible which was 4 days before we had to be there. Their policy states that they don't do cancellations within 7 days from the day you have to be there and no refunds - which is fair (I didn't have a problem with that). But they wouldn't let me reschedule and they are super hard to get hold of (hardly answer their phones or emails) so I couldn't even try to send someone in my place which I wanted to do. Being that they refused to reschedule, I basically paid them over AUD $300 for NOTHING. Won't try to book there again - I think I got a glimpse of what the rest of their service is like.

Cathedral Place - close to the City, river and public transport. Each unit is individually owned and our rental was in need of maintenance and upgrading. It was dark, the one old aircon struggled to keep the 2 bedroom unit cool as there were no ceiling fans, and the crockery and cutlery were dirty. It was definitely NOT the photo on Agoda.
Customer service was also not the best. We had booked a parking space which was not organised. When we eventually got one it was double booked. We were also told that the booking did not include the use of 2 bathrooms and if we used only one we would not be charged extra. Ridiculous considering it was a 2 bedroom unit and one bathroom was an on-suite. We arrived early and could not even sit in the cool lobby to wait for check-in as the entrance door requires a key.
Such a disappointment as the location and pool area are a real plus.

There's nothing to like about this property, absolutely disgusting & unhealthy. Do NOT be fooled by the: photos; extremely large spacious reception area; 'enhanced cleanliness measures'; gym or available reception hours ! On arrival you're immediately charged a $250 deposit for any damage caused, refundable in 5-7 business days. Then you receive your key & swipe tag with limited directions to navigate your way through the grounds with no sign posting hopefully to end up at the right apartment block. Entry is a skill at all points with the swipe tower meters from the door of entry. Our apartment tower 'F', was not air conditioned, smelt of cooking, rubbish & the carpet required vacuuming. Our 2 bdrm apartment was disgusting, filthy from the floor up: The balcony was dirty The only outdoor furniture was 1 broken wooden chair - abandoned & left in the corner. No mop, bucket, broom, dustpan & brush or rubbish bin. The gym advertised as open from 1 March was NOT open/available. I felt dirty & uncomfortable whilst staying here. I could not bring myself to touch or use anything - it was disgusting ! And remember before I'd ventured through to this I'd paid a $250 deposit & been given typed instructions on leaving 'the property neat and tidy' & how to dispose of my rubbish. The reception was not open as stated Sat 12-4pm. I went to discuss my disappointment at various times over the weekend with it closed & its shutter down, as it was on checkout. Please see more in detailed section.
