Detailed Reviews
We stayed a single night in room 46B, a studio with fantastic river views on the 10th floor. Booked directly after ringing ahead to check details. The onsite manager confirmed this room was unrenovated, but they were able to accommodate early/late check-in and out, and organised a hair dryer and champagne glasses on request. Both Sharon and Quarn were very helpful.
The room was clean, bed was comfy and water in the shower was hot. Free parking and great views from the pool. Traffic noise from the freeway is loud on the balcony, but this is the middle of the city! Close the doors and it was quiet on the 10th floor.
We paid for the amazing view and it was worth it - watching the sunset change colours of the river and the city lights come on was magic.
If you are looking for immaculate high quality fittings, find somewhere else to stay, but if you aren't too precious, and want a spectacular view in easy walking distance to Southbank, this fits the bill. Not worth paying full price, but if you can get discounted prices this is a good option.

Reading past reviews I steeled myself (and prepped my spray and wipe and my own linen) for this place.... who even wrote those reviews?!
This place is in a prime location for south bank, river and bus/train public transport, the check in process was smooth, great parking on site, and a very secure building all round with lovely aesthetics. The pool area is lovely and it took me only 5 minutes to walk to work (Flight Centre Buliding) which has cafe’s and a grocery store for convenience.
The room is lovely & clean, with some modern touches and as I got the cheapest room with a kitchenette I was BLOWN AWAY to walk in to a huge space with a big verandah and what I consider a full size kitchen and stocked cupboards, seperate bedroom and bathroom.
So comfortable and I am so pleased with my choice. I put away my spray and wipe and instead enjoyed some time
On the balcony.
Will 110% be staying here every time I am visiting south Brisbane!

We stayed due to the close proximity to The Mater Private Hospital. The original booking was made through Agoda as it was far cheaper than booking directly through the management. Location is faultless. Walking distance to The Mater Complex, Southbank etc. The views are spectacular. However..... the 2 BR apartment, despite being a good size was so outdated and poorly maintained. If you are a light sleeper, forget it (especially Room 50). Never before have I ever stayed in an apartment/room with such loud air con units. There is one located in the lounge room and “main” bedroom. The second bedroom has a ceiling fan, which is highly inadequate for a Brisbane summer. You couldn’t even hear the TV when the lounge unit was running. The carpets are threadbare, mis-matched furnishings, crappy pillows, broken or no towel rails. This could be such a fabulous apartment if renovated and air con updated to quiet units. The pool area great. Undercover parking for $15 a night. Just know what you are booking.

We stayed here as our son needed to go to the Childrens Hospital and it is literally a 2 minute walk away.
A glitch with bookings.com meant an amendment to our booking wasn't received by River Plaza and we had not been booked for our first night. The Building Manager Sharon was quick to rectify this and went in herself on a Sunday at very short notice to clean a room for us.
Our apartment was very clean and comfortable as was reception, the foyer and other communal areas.
The views are spectacular and the apartments are within walking distance to the Childrens Hospital and all that Southbank has to offer.
Rooms must be soundproofed as we would not have known there was a single other person staying here. Recliner lounges and decent water pressure in the shower were appreciated. If I could change one thing, it would be the mattress, although comfortable, you can feel every movement from the person next to you but that may just be because I am used to my Silent Partner mattress at home.
Thank you for having us Sharon, if we need to come back to Brisbane, we will definitely stay again.

This was the most terrible hotel experience. The aircon in the living room sounded like a jet plane landing and was ineffective. There was no aircon in the bedroom and it was impossible to open the door to the balcony. So it was hot and noisy. The bed was like an old sponge...completely uncomfortable. Impossible to sleep. There was a vacuum cleaner and ironing board in the wardrobe- no space to hang clothes. Terrible shower pressure. The whole space was tired, ugly and stained. I had booked for three nights but left after one. They refused to give a refund even though it was impossible to sleep there. Do not stay here!

Tired & old esp bathroom in apt 11A. Assume privately owned & in the holiday letting pool, but owners need to take time out & inspect this apt.
Views & location do not make up for old & tired...given the high nightly rates.
Shower is over a 1/2 bath with high sides which if mobility issues makes if difficult to step in & out...shld have checked 1st but assumed a walk in shower.
Turned shower on & water picked up like a grey fluff in bath, apart from that apt was clean
Curtains in bedroom have small holes in them. Fan only in bedroom with air-conditioning ( in wall type) for rest of apt.
Secure undercover carpark which was included in the rate.
Friendly reception.
But would look elsewhere

We absolutely loved staying here, the location was perfect and our 2 bedroom apartment exceeded our expectations. It was clean and with so much space. The view from our balcony was amazing, although it's a slightly older apartment building, it is exceptional value.

Three of us stayed here for three nights in a one bedroom apartment. Rung the number on the reception door on arrival, was let in and waited a short time for the manageress named Skye, who was pleasant and who sorted us out promptly. He place was fantastic, room was clean and tidy. Couch turned into a bed for my 12 yo son. Living and b/room opened out to the balcony, which had amazing city/river views. Room had a washer and dryer. Carpark and kitchen.

Great location, close to Southbank. The room had a nice balcony overlooking the river and CBD. Fabulous. It wasn’t expensive. That’s all on the plus side. However….
Room looked tired. Tiny bathroom, no fan (never good) and a broken soap holder in the small shower which turned the whole shower experience into quite a challenge in a number of ways. None of them good 😢. An old Air Con, and a remote would have been helpful instead of having to kneel down in front of it whenever it needed attending to.
Maybe you’d have more luck with a bigger, more expensive unit perhaps. Good luck finding out.

Helpful and polite and would recommend to others. They allow us to check in early and explain anything we asked. Yes we would stay again. The view was amazing and we really enjoyed our stay.
Handy to shopping and getting transport was no problem.

We got parking included but we did have a bath/shower combo so the rooms must be different- maybe request when booking.
