The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Fortitude Valley station yet far enough away to be in a quiet location. Check was simple, there was a lovely outside courtyard beside my room. The room was spacious with a small balcony overlooking a side street. The bed was comfortable, there was air conditioning, a decent sized fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom had a large walk in shower with toiletries. The room was also tidied every day. There is a breakfast area and an underground car park. Would highly recommend this boutique hotel as it’s central enough with good transportation links, also plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby.

I booked the hotel due to the price and location and this was as expected.

Everything was quite adequate without ever being outstanding.

Check in was adequate but hardly made me feel particularly welcome. Had a tariff where breakfast was included and the person I checked in with vaguely pointed toward the cafe when I asked how it worked.

Room was comfortable enough and probably worth the price paid. Will also say it was surprisingly quiet being just off St Paul's Terrace.

A number of little things bugged me about the place though. Teaspoons missing from the room. No information about the hotel or it's facilities was available in the room. Air conditioning quite noisy. There was a room service tray that was outside a room near the lift when I checked in at about 6pm that was still there at 9am the next morning.

The management could look at some of the other hotels in the area for tips on outstanding customer service e.g. The Constance, particularly relating to check in. Having said this the gentleman working in the cafe was brilliant.

Just back from a great 3 night stay at Kennigo Hotel Brisbane.
What a great place to stay.
Hotel is 6 years ole but was completely renovated 3 months ago. Everything is new clean tidy and organized. Their new restaurant was not yet finished but I believe will be completed in the next few weeks.
Very easy to drive to and undercover secure parking is very reasonable at $15 per night.
Staff could not be more friendly or helpful. The Barista, Ms Young, even remembered or order at all our coffees after the first. She is great.
Front desk staff went well above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant and that we were well catered for. The bottle of wine and cheese platter brought to our room after sign in was a very welcome touch.
The room was clean and very comfortable. Tea, Coffee and Hot chocolate were supplied along with the usual mini bar. TV was wall mounted and approximately 100cm. Bathroom was well organized but could have had 1 more towel rail.
Our only hint for improved may have been an extra 30cm on room width.
Hotel is located on a quite street and Valley Train station, Exhibition grounds and Hospital are all an easy walk.

Paid extra for breakfast and two days we stayed there, it had a very limited menu and definitely not worth the $25 allocation that we had on the first day.
Staff couldnt be more accommodating. They were really nice.
Housekeeping could’ve refilled the toilet paper and the tea/coffee.

Love my stay at Kennigo Hotel Brisbane. Great location, within walking distance to train station, restaurants, convenience store and supermarket. The room is minimalist style with heavy-dark curtain, which is great to block the sunlight, lighting that's could be lit and arrange individually as needed, quite generous storage for wardrobe and storing anything else like snacks or other general things. In the bathroom they provide basic essential needs like soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion in great botol labeled very nicely, installed very neatly in the bathroom. These are not only good quality (does not make your skin dry) but also smells very good. Something that's not most hotels do these days, so this is a rare thing and I really appreciate this. The
housekeeping clean up the room everyday without fail, provide clean towels set, bath mat and clean-neat bed. All floor are very clean and I can only compare this service to one of brand - four star hotel at CBD Brisbane area, the same standard of cleanliness which is a top notch! When you're going to the lobby, You'll find friendly faces, great customer service from the reception to the cafe people. They serve great coffee and minimal choice of pastry and muffins. I can say that the muffin taste good, of course you cannot compare this one to top notch Italian cake taste like but this is the great cafe cake taste like. The overall experience here is good, the people here don't talk much but give an extraordinary services and comfortable stay so I definitely recommend this hotel as one of your choice to stay while you are in Brisbane and the good thing is only one station away from CBD area. Thank you Kennigo Hotel Brisbane!

The Kennigo Hotel surpassed my expectations. The location is amazing, just a short walk to the Fortitude Valley Mall where not only the train station is located there is a Woolworths Supermarket and many food and drink options, which I found very convenient as a solo traveler.

It was also a short walk to the Royal Brisbane Hospital which was perfect as I was there for a week to visit my mother who was in the Hospital.

Apart from that when I arrived I was able to get a room on the top floor with beautiful views.

The room itself had floor to ceiling glass, was spacious and clean with a handy mini fridge, a desk and chair, a luggage rack and a beautiful large bathroom. It was completely quiet and peaceful and the blackout curtains and excellent A/C meant for sound sleeping each night.

I really enjoyed going downstairs each morning for an excellent cup of coffee made with a smile by the lovely staff and sampling the pastries and other offerings for breakfast from their restaurant next door. It couldn’t have been more convenient.

All the staff were so kind and welcoming and as a woman traveling solo I felt so safe and comfortable at the Kennigo. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Brisbane!

We booked a standard Queen room about a month ago and were offered an upgrade to a Queen Vista Room for an extra $30 a couple of days before we were due to arrive. We opted to pay for the upgrade and were very disappointed once we arrived.
The upgrade offer was for:
A room with either city views or courtyard views - The actual view in our room through the two small, narrow windows was 2/3 taken up with the side wall of the next building with just a small view of the city in the upmost section of the window.

A coffee machine - Only 2 coffee pods supplied with the machine, no way to heat the milk and the machine didn't work when we tried to make the coffees in the morning.

A slightly bigger room - mmm... maybe, but the standard room must be very small if that room was bigger.

I will say that the room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower had good hot water flow.

Probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again because we just felt a little ripped off / conned for paying an extra $30 for a room that was nice but didn't really have anything special.

The room was slightly small but very nicely decorated and comfortable. Bathroom/shower etc facilities were fantastic. What disappointed most was the lack of housekeeping services ie cleanliness. In our 4 night stay not once was the room made up or rubbish bins emptied. Fresh towels were not provided until we complained to reception and even then the used towels were not removed. Even the garage was a mess with rubbish lying around everywhere.

We stayed in room 117 which was the studio section of a interconnecting room. It had all new furnishings and everything was incredibly clean.
The staff checked us in with a smile and we had friendly encounters on departure too.
The bed was super comfortable, we couldn't feel the divide so I'm assuming it was a full king of decent quality.
The bathroom fittings are all new too so it was refreshing to get ready to go out in comfort with decent lighting etc.
Being so close (walking distance) to the valley, and that we were on level 1, we couldn't hear any street noise which was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Prior to check in I called three separate times to ask a question and all three times the phone went unanswered. So then I sent an email that was responded to the next day.
Check in was smooth, went to my room, and while unpacking I was noticing multiple cleanliness issues. Carpets were dirty, bathroom was not clean with really terrible tile gunge, makeup on the vanity, wet tissue all over the tile floor, stains on bed cushions, dust on all surfaces. Returned to front desk to let them know I wasn’t happy and was shifted to another floor (minus the balcony access- same price). Immediately I noted the curtain half hanging off, and the room was without a coffee maker, which was listed on my booking. Front desk fixed curtain and supplied a coffee machine after making another trip to the front desk.
Was a short while later I found the toilet seat hanging on by its fingernails. Had to mention that to get it fixed on my way out to an appointment. Returned later that night and it was fixed.
The carpets were just as unclean as previous room and the cushions worse. At that point I just wanted some rest and food. The Resturant was closed for renovations and there was no room service so made the mistake of walking to find food in the dark.
Location is close to Brunswick St which I had no clue was so dubious. Didn’t feel safe walking the street to find food during the evening, or day for that matter. Ubereats worked. My room had no utensils, not even a teaspoon to stir a coffee, had to ask for a wine glass, and it arrived with a chip and crack so had to get another and while the front desk was very accommodating I found that when (I assume they were the actual owners) were present that there was some tension in the air, snide comments about other staff and the hunting around for simple things like a wine glass and coffee pods was seemingly, a task. Was a bit weird actually.
Overall the hotel is underwhelming, everywhere I looked was like it needed a scrub. Rundown and not maintained comes to mind. Such a pity.
