Disappointing 'service' at this hotel which relies on location. I was there for five nights and my room was not serviced during the entire five days. I suspect there is only one cleaning team that works from the bottom up. They always seemed to arrive at my room to clean it late afternoon just as I was returning from a full day in Darwin and need to rest and shower before going out in the night. The first two days that it happened I smiled and accepted their apologies but after the 3rd and 4th day tht it still hadn't been 'serviced', I was VERY disappointed! The breakfast room was also disappointing., this is not a 'cheap' hotel and yet wooden stirring sticks for your coffee and even though the breakfast room was not 'busy', it was a challenge to find a table that had been cleared of the last guest's mess.

Based on price and location we booked a Studio room for a weeks stay in June which unknown to us coincided with the annual Greek Festival. The H 105 we found ideal as it was close enough to a selection of shops , cafes restaurants and pubs yet far enough not to be affected by late night revellers and festival attendees. The studio room was well equipped with fridge , microwave, iron , ironing board , crockery and cutlery though the actual bed space was rather small and cramped. Besides free WiFi there was a well equipped laundry with Washing machine and Dryer that was shared with the adjoining studio apartment, The staff especially Manisha at Reception and Check in was very helpful and provided service with a smile. Thankful we made a booking early in the year as closer to the date Hotel prices in Darwin seemed rather expensive. This was our first visit to Darwin and we will re visit and stay at this hotel again.

The accommodation was on Mitchell St, which is a busy 'party' street in Darwin but at a quiet end. This was ideal. It is a large complex, some 14 or so floors and we stayed on floor 6 - about half way. We rented a studio room. It was compact but comfortable. The room had a shared laundry (with the next room) with free washing powder. The room and facilities all very modern so very welcoming. We didn't use the wifi, but it was available and free. There is a fridge, micro/combi conventional oven and tea and coffee making facilities in the room too. As well as a TV and air conditioning. There is also a safe deposit box as well. There is a bar and restaurant on the Ground Floor. Everything you need.
The location is great for a base in Darwin whilst you walk around and see the sights of the city and enjoy everything Darwin has to offer.
The staff were very accommodating and that included giving us a later check out (11am instead of 10am) and looking after our bags on the last day.
Location wise, facility wise and comfort wise it was all good and we would stay again. Another great feature is FREE off street parking. Perfect.
There was no toaster! We had to use the combination micro/conventional oven to do our toast which took forever.
We had a shared entrance so it was noisy when people in the next room came through the main entry door (i.e. Door 613, then it separated into 613a and 613b).
The air conditioning, whilst working, seemed to not get the temperature of the room low enough. The sun and heat come through the large window and the room gets pretty hot. We set the air con to 22c but it never got there.
We were charged a higher credit card surcharge than advertised on the Booking.com confirmation (1.5% instead of 0.6%). I did query this and got a refund for the difference but beware. Hopefully they will update their terms and conditions on the Booking.com website.

Booked a 9 night stay with the family. The rooms were clean and fresh, AC worked well in the darwin heat. Facilities were all clean and well maintained, we used the BBQ area, to do a big cook-up for approx 30 people, with no problems. The staff and manager were ever so helpful, with any request we had including a late checkout as our flight was not until 4.30pm, which allowed us to leave for the airport refreshed. Would not hesitate in recommending Jim and his crew to anyone, and I would not hesitate in booking here again due to its central location to everything.

From the moment we checked in to the time we had to check out the reception staff were friendly and helpful could not fault them (lovely Ladies) very spacious 1 bedroom apartment very clean great balcony view of both city and ocean. Could not fault the very lovely house keeping staff our apartment was serviced every day with fresh towels, bed made, garbage removal. Considering when I booked my accommodation it said apartments only get serviced every 3rd day of your stay. Considering there is a bar/hotel there was no loud noise during the nights. Restaurant menu is value for money. Buffet breakfast is basic ($20 if purchased ticket from hotel reception) would love to see the a la carte breakfast menu back. My partner and I have stayed at this hotel many many times and we are very impressed with it overall would fully recommend to everyone 😀

After booking the H on Mitchell I nearly cancelled because of all the bad reviews. I only have praise for this hotel, everything was clean and well maintained, the staff were friendly and the meals good.
We had a twin one-bedroom apartment, it was well equipped, spacious and had lovely views over Darwin and Fanny Bay. I particularly liked the spacious balcony. There was a notice saying our room would be serviced every 3rd day, but it was actually done daily and everything was replenished, our housekeeper did an amazing job.
The bar and restaurant are decorated nicely and are frequented by both tourists and locals. Service is casual, you order at the counter and get buzzed when it is ready. We had dinner and breakfast inhouse on a number of occasions and the food was good.
The hotel is well located on Mitchell Street and within a 15-minute walk of many attractions. Carparking was provided at a reasonable fee and the bays were very spacious.
I highly recommend the H on Mitchell (maybe management has lifted its game after seeing the bad reviews), but honestly, I couldn't fault it.

Wow, what a terrible, stressful and forgetful experience at this place. I wasn't even meant to stay here but was moved from their sister hotel on Smith St due to them overbooking the place. Upon arrival with my 10 year old daughter in a wheelchair I looked up after getting out of the taxi to find a male and female grabbing my bags and slinging them over their shoulder. I asked who they were and what they were doing. The female replied "we are taking your bags and running away" and then proceeded to tell me they worked there. Neither of them wore uniforms and the male looked like he had just walked off the street in his jeans and black Adidas or Nike polo. He had a thick accent and came across more as a holiday maker from Europe than someone who actually worked in the hotel. I told them at reception I was impressed by being shunted to this hotel and was told by the male that they weren't affiliated with the H on Smith. Well the website under the section "sister hotels" certainly says they are affiliated. First impression was poor and the staff looked totally disinterested. The room was ok in size but probably could have done with a vacuum to remove the dead bus in the carpet and the wall in the bedroom could have been cleaned to remove the filthy old hand marks. The pool was ok in size but was falling apart. The tiles were falling off all over the pool and there was a large amount of calcium build up on the tiles in areas. It looked unloved to be honest. Breakfast in Lizards was an inexperience for all the wrong reasons. Only option was Big Breakfast that had to be cooked. That's fine but no other option for kids like cereal or an omelette. Breakfast was included in the booking but I was made to sign a docket each day that said breakfast was $20 each and that if I wanted to pay nothing then I had to get a voucher from reception, which is totally contrary to what reception told me when I booked in. Breakfast didn't come with a cold drink or a coffee like a normal hotel. This had to be asked for so that we had something to wash the breakfast down with. Checkout was super simple and I was told the $100 bond would be released but might take a couple of days to hit my account. It has now been three days and still nothing. I pre booked a cab the night before with the hotel so we could get to the airport in the morning. 90 minutes after the cab was meant to arrive it hadn't shown up and when they reception lady rang the cab company she actually rang the wrong company as they had no idea what she was talking about. Lots of stress later we finally got a cab and made check in for our flight by 4 minutes. The three days were a ruin as my father had flown u p from Melbourne as well to spend time with his grand daughter and we booked the same hotel. We were punted but he wasn't.

Hi Terry, Thanks for your feedback. I understand you were disappointed to be moved from H on Smith to H on Mitchell and I do apologise for this. To address some of your concerns, please be assured that it was our Front Office Manager and Maintenance Manager (who does wear jeans and an "H Hotels" polo shirt due to the nature of his work) who assisted you with your bags. Your package did include a $20 breakfast credit and anything from the menu can be ordered including drinks and these are made fresh to order. I understand that a confirmation text message was sent to your mobile from 13 Cabs the night prior to your departure regarding your confirmed booking for a wheelchair taxi, however unfortunately this taxi did not arrive on time. As discussed with the front desk team you agreed for a normal taxi to be booked on your behalf instead. Again we are very sorry that your hotel stay was not what you had hoped it would be and please be assured we have taken your feedback on board to improve our processes. Thanks again Miranda

We stayed for just over a week in May. Positives - large space with all appliances needed in a kitchen. Spacious balcony and large television in the bedroom. Great location on Mitchell street. Cons- slight mouldy smell in the corridor and can be stuffy in the rooms even with the aircon on. We asked for a room refresh early morning and staff didn’t come until 3pm after we had to ask a second time when we had already returned to the hotel. The bed is super hard with only a sheet instead of a fittest sheet which seemed cheap and annoying. Pillows are terrible. Staff at front counter needs improving with customer service.
It was a comfortable stay and we enjoyed ourself but for the price there needs to be some improvements.

Currently staying at H on Mitchell 29/8/2022 and housekeeping took our towels this morning it’s now 5.00pm and our towels have not been replaced. We would really like to have a shower! Been down to reception and waited 20 minutes both times only to be told they are still at the laundry. A few guests were asking the same questions however, the girl on reception couldn’t give a damn & just fobbed us off. Asked if they had any pool towels and got the same reply. Very poor service bring your own towel if you plan on staying here.
