Firstly location: Next to Woolworth's and within 2 blocks of Crocasaurus Cove and the centre of nightlife in Darwin. The Waterfront, Stokes Wharf, Bicentennial Park and eating districts are within a 10 min walk/$10 Uber,
The apartments are large well layed out and comfortable. My room on the third floor was very clean and easy to relax in. Staff were excellent. Overall a great place to stay with a small family, whether or not you want to cook.
My only negative comment is the $10/night parking fee, where most hotels in Darwin are free. I will stay here again.

7 night stay in a 2 bedroom family apartment. Third floor corner location. Perfect for afternoon sunsets on the balcony. Twin bed mattresses and/or bed bases noisy with any kind of movement. Kitchen set up good but instruction manuals for dishwasher and oven would be useful. A container to hold the cutlery in the one place in the dishwasher is necessary. Knives, forks, spoons falling through the racks to the bottom of the machine which could create a mechanical problem if any should impact with the spinning washer blades. Housekeeping should check remotes for fans and TV as batteries dead but Reception replaced them. Pool towels sadly lacking in appeal. We likened them to reject bath towels (ours were a faded mauve colour and not long enough to cover a sun lounge. To gain entry to security undercover parking you have to alight from your vehicle to place the apartment door/security gate card against the panel to activate the sliding gate. Too bad if there is an unforeseen thunderstorm. To exit, the gate slides open automatically. Metro charge $10 per day for carparking. Overall we had an enjoyable stay, having a hire car at our disposal is necessary to sightsee the region. A lot of hire car operations limit to a maximum 100kms per day. We used Sixt for unlimited kilometres and a 25% discount for RACQ members.

The Metro is a little tired looking, but the apartments are roomy, comfy and really well furnished. Unfortunately my room backed onto the Woolworths loading bay so lots of truck activity (reversing beeps!) late at night and early in the morning. It was very bright and the pillows were VERY big! They might have had thinner ones if I'd asked though. The location is excellent and I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The secure carpark was convenient and was suitable for large 4WD's with approx 2.5m height. Wet season rates were very generous, but I think the light rooms and loading bay noise would prevent me staying again.

I was very happy to receive a free upgrade to a better room upon checkin. I found the apartment to be very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The apartment had everything I needed. The staff could be more friendly and accommodating and a vending machine would be a great idea to purchase items when the reception is closed. I would strongly recommend staying here, the location is ideal and within easy walking distance to the Waterfront, Smith & Mitchell Streets. The swimming pool was nice and the bbq area quite large. The property is very clean. House keeping is every 3 days so I asked for towels and bin liners at reception. The is penty of onside parking if required.

In theory this place should be good but it is in need of a lot of basic maintenance. I am staying here for two weeks and asked for a room change after the first night. I don't recommend the rooms from say 2022 to 2028 as they are opposite the woolies loading dock and the garbage collection and are very noisey.
In the first room, I had a shower screen crack that was taped up, it needed painting around where the air conditioner used to be and the verandah door handle / lock was in dire straights. On top of that, it had an adjoining room which was not my booking but you could hear evey word as if they were in the lounge room with you.
This new room is much quieter but it literally has no light fitting (it was there previously) in the lounge room, the fan in the bathroom doesn't work, the light in the hall doesn't work and they asked if I minded having a bedside lamp on only one side of the bed.
As others have said the shower is over the bath, it is a big step in and no rails anywhere to hold for balance.
Finally, and it is a little thing, you have to get out of the car to tap your card to enter the carpark. As a single female, I feel a little vunerable doing ths and never know whether to lock the car, leave the car running and dash for it etc.
Staff are friendly and helpful and it could be excellent if the owners just kept up with some basic maintenance.

Stayed for 2 weeks in a studio apartment.
Hotel looking a little tired, but in a pretty good location (Woolworths 100m away) but no views.
Staff were very good with room lightly serviced almost every day ( new sheets every 3-4 days) and towels as needed. Room supplies of tea/coffee and toilet paper restocked daily.
Pool area was good but pool stairs would allow easier access than the current pool ladders.

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was everything I was hoping. The bed was comfortable and the room itself was clean and well set out. I would stay again without hesitation. The location was excellent and the check in and check out was easy. On-site secured parking was an added bonus and the property itself was quiet.

Room was reasonably clean. Curtains were a bit grubby and coming apart. Had to peg my curtain together in the bedroom. Otherwise, apartment was very clean. Great location next to Woolworths. A few issues with the room when checked in, with most resolved. Telephone in room doesn’t work, was told that there was a problem with the lines, but they never got fixed for the 5 nights I was there, so I’m guessing none are connected. As it’s next to Woolworths, I would people to request a room on the opposite side, as our room was next to the loading bay, with trucks arriving from 7.00am. Had a few nights where is was noisy either with people outside, or in adjacent rooms - which could happen at any accomodation.

We had booked a trip to Groote Eylandt, and the night here was part of the package. We had spent the day at Litchfield National Park, so did not arrive at the Metro Advance Apartments in town until about 8 pm - had we more time, it would have been better to arrive earlier (we could have checked in from 2 pm), and take full advantage of the apartment and the central location. It was only about a 7 minute walk to the Bicentennial Park, where you can watch the sun set, or a 20 minute walk to the Darwin Waterfront. The apartment was very spacious, and included a kitchenette and dining table, which would be very handy if you were staying a few days. There was a lovely hand written note welcoming us, and some delicious treats. The bathroom contained everything you need and the king sized bed was very comfy. The bed did not have a doona on it, which we thought a bit unusual, and there was only one thin blanket in the cupboard - by the time we realised this, reception was closed for the evening, however we were able to call the night manager (on our mobile as the phone in the room did not work) and he brought us another blanket. I'd certainly consider staying here again

Hi I don't know exactly but it's relatively high. Service vans ECT fit easy. Unless you have a truck, you should be fine.
Yes. The Wi-Fi is free and I found it to be fast and reliable during my stay.
There is an entire floor which opens on to the pool area
