This B&B is around 3 miles from Darwin Airport and 7 miles from down town Darwin. I must say at the outset that it really is advisable to have a car. That is the lesson we learned mainly due to the high temperatures and the fact that the bus is almost a 10 minute walk. The owners have provided a car-parking spot for the B&B.
The rooms (bedroom and bathroom) are under the family elevated home. The two rooms are separated by what the owners call a 'breezeway'; it is an alley about 10' wide connecting the front entrance of the house to the rear garden. Please see photograph.
Peg, the B&B owner is an avid gardener and the mature garden (see photographs) has many trees and shrubs. All in all with its spa pool it has been described by some guests as an oasis.
The bedroom is adequate with good air-conditioning and is serviced each morning. It is however rather 'tired' and good do with re-decoration. The bed linen is well worn and again would benefit from a make-over.
The bathroom is across the breezeway which is unfortunate but no other option is available. There is always hot water and the facilities are serviceable.
The breakfast is good; Peg leaves it in the fridge on a tray.
There is a small BBQ for guests; also a small garden spa.
Generally this B&B is off the beaten track but the really good news is that the price is low seemingly taking account of the facilities offered. It was on that basis we booked it and were not disappointed. On price alone it may merit a 5* scoring but I have endeavoured to be objective.
Internet is available and the strength is excellent.
With Peg's blessing one can use the washing machine.
There is also a TV in the breezeway.
Peg will only take bookings for a minimum stay of three nights.
Peg has lived in the area for 40 years so she is very knowledgeable.
Generally, this B&B should be fine if you have your own transport but research it well and make your own mind up. Clearly it will not be for everyone.

Peg the owner is very hospitable and knowledgeable having lived in the area for many years
the bedroom is roomy but the disadvantage is that the bathroom is across the open patio area - known as a breezeway. I would point out however that there is only one room for rental so no other guests are there and the owners live in the house above this accommodation.
Peg leave breakfast in the fridge over night and it is more that sufficient - juice, cereal milk bread for toasting teabags jam butter and marmalade.
the bed linen is rather past its usage and needs replaced.
The whole place could do with a good spring clean and a fresh lick of paint.
If you don't like lizards and other creepy crawleys then this isn't the place for you,
It is situated in a quiet street about 15 mins from the airport and 20 minutes from Darwin city centre. Walking time to the nearest bus stop is approximately 10 mins.
