We are 85 and 81 and booked into Melaleuca on Mitchell. After some discussion the young lady and young man on reception said they felt sure we would have ore quiet in their motel next door. The Value Inn. We had booked and paid for Melaleuca and they transferred the booking to the Value Inn. This was excellent. Close to...

This is a party hostel but I had no problems sleeping in a private room. I couldn't imagine staying in a dorm. Young people partying by the pool until 4am every night Kitchen is always rammed full of people. Bathrooms need updating and in a lot of cases repairing. However showers are reasonably hot and powerful. Coles supermarket across the...

The only good thing about that hostel was the staff which was friendly and helpful at any time. Kitchen is way too small for the amount of guests staying and is already in the early evening a real mess. The stoves were a disaster, as there is no marking which knob is operating which plate or which position is full...

I generally stay in low season - I can imagine how noisy and busy high season could be. First stayed in 2006 when the hostel was very new, then it was awesome in my opinion! each time can see a decline as the hostel gets old and not a lot of money is spent to keep the hostel where it...

There are bedbugs in the hostel. The Beds are very bad and broken. generally the hostel is not clean at all and very noisy. One of the worst hostels in Australia. Better look for a other hostel or hotel

Party hostel very close to bars and clubs in Darwin. The kitchen is a massive down side to this hostel as it is disgustingly hot in there and they don't provide plates, bowls, cups, cutlery etc- you have to pay a deposit for them and keep a close eye on them to make sure someone doesn't nab them while you...

Excellent place to have some cheap beers, a swim and enjoy the party atmosphere created by the locals. Get involved with the music, drink specials, pool volley ball and enjoy the true sense of Darwin. Tourists and locals make this place, they enjoy the music, drink and party hard. Accomadation is reasobable but dont think you will get much sleep...

I stayed here when I was backpacking across Australia as part of a Round The World trip with my younger brother. It's a party hostel, so if that's not your scene I'd say this is not the place for you, though having said that my brother and I weren't big on the party scene but we just didn't join in...

I stayed here for five nights on a mostly solo trip. There was not as much of a social atmosphere as there have been at other hostels. There is a pool, a bar and a great sundeck, but most people seemed to already be with a group by the time they checked in. Darwin itself is a bit more spread...

We stayed just one night in a private room. The hostel is pretty big, with long bare corridors and countless rooms making it seem more like a prison with no character. Even though we were at the far end away from the bar, we could still hear the music for most of the night, so maybe look elsewhere if you...
