Reviews summary

Powered by AI
Travelodge Resort Darwin enjoys a central location that many travelers find convenient, situated close to various city attractions, supermarkets, and dining options. While the pools and cleanliness, especially of the pool areas, earn praise from guests, the overall atmosphere and amenities receive mixed reviews due to maintenance issues and a lack of facilities. The service quality often disappoints, with reports of unhelpful staff.
Room conditions are varied, with some being comfortable and clean, yet others have noted malfunctioning appliances. Despite these issues, many guests feel the hotel provides good value for its location and pricing.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed in a villa, which was roomy and comfortable for a couple. The location is very central - right in the middle of the city and a short walk from the waterfront precinct.
The resort is well served with a couple of pools, laundry, 24 hr reception. Beware however that parking inside the security gate costs extra ($10 per day). The villas have washing machine and dryer, and cooking facilities, though the latter are fairly basic (two glass-top hotplates and a microwave, plus a toaster and electric kettle), and cooking and serving utensils are limited.

murrayd244, Thanks for the review. The rooms are comfortable and our location is great for all attractions in the city. We're pleased to see you enjoyed the facilities we have. Parking on site is $10 daily which is comparable with parking in the city. We do have the added comfort of being off street and secure. We hope you enjoyed your stay and welcome you back in the future. Daniel - Assistant Hotel Manager

The highlight of the hotel is its 2 swimming pools, Everything else is old and the rooms are so far away from the front desk. I loved the location its a walking distance to most places. The welcome service is not that great, the lady was more worried about her
deposit. The price was alright not too pricey.
2 free water bottles in the rooms would make a difference or free water in the lo bobby.

Hi Alpha m, Thanks for the review. Good to see you enjoyed the pool area. We are always looking for ways to improve the resort to make it better for the guests and update where we can. The location is great and close walking distance to everything in the CBD. I'm sorry to hear you're arrival greeting was not great. The team do try to do their best at being helpful and friendly. We hope your overall experience was positive and would be nice to welcome you back in the future.

We made our trip to Darwin to visit relatives and were very happy with our choice of Travelodge Resort. Our room was neat and clean, the beds comfortable, nice amenities and a great shower in the bathroom. We found the staff to be mostly friendly and happy to help (thank you Priya & Ryan at Reception.) The area around the 2 pools is a great spot to sit and relax and didn't seem that crowded. Pools towels were readily available and there is a poolside bar for drinks and food. We found the included breakfast to be really very good. Cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt, chia puddings, juices, pastries and several different breads for toasting plus the selection of hot food to help yourself to included sausages, fried tomatoes, scrambled eggs, hash browns and (fabulous) mushrooms with spinach and of course, hot beverages. We didn't need lunch at all. We would be happy to stay here again on a return visit.

I've stayed here a lot over the last 5 years. Aspects of this place are great. (Pool, Front desk service.) However.... there seems to be more and more noise and frequently it seems that parents leave unaccompanied kids in the rooms. (Hence the noise) There was a kid last night who must have opened and closed the heavy room door 100 times.
It's had a decent reno but mayne they've rushed the opening. Like cups with no saucers, my room hasn't had light switch covers fitted... For $120 a night I expect a bit better. Rooms are very clean though and location is not bad.

The staff were very friendly and obliging, the room attendants were especially good.
The hotel rooms have been nicely updated, but the pool and outdoor areas are aged and poorly maintained and managed. Our overall experience was satisfactory, and we were happy with value. Some attention to details like explaining how to find information (we eventually found the QR code) and cleaning around pool couldnhave been done daily.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great and the room was neat, very quiet and met our needs for self-catering although there wasn't a lot of equipment and the saucepan and frying pan were too small. The pool was lovely and very clean and we enjoyed the poolside catering area as well.

This hotel is very conveniently located close to the CBD, within walking distance to cafes and the supermarket. Security in and out was very good and comforting to have, although at no time did we feel unsafe walking around Darwing day or night. The price for our 9 nights was very good, we had a Q room with 2 Q beds and although info said the room would be serviced weekly for long stays, our bed was made each day (not clean sheets but that's ok), and our towels were changed each day. Air con worked well. The 2 pools were lovely and refreshing and the complimentary pool towels were good to have. We were there during the wet season and the whole place is very quiet which was good.

Hi Alicat3874, Thanks for the review. Our central location is a perfect base for the city's attractions. We do have security onsite throughout the year to help make the hotel more secure and for peace of mind. The pool area is a great way to cool down from the sweltering Darwin heat. Thanks for staying at the Travelodge and we hope to see you again.

I booked through booking.com as I always do. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times as I love it.
On arrival they asked me if I would prefer a room outside or inside - it was very nice to be able to choose! When I said outside they asked me if I needed the two beds in my room (the room came with 2 double beds but I was travelling alone). I said it made no difference to me, so instead they decided to upgrade me to a 2 story unit! I was amazed. It had a kitchen, washing machine and dryer, a lounge, outdoor seating area, and upstairs there was a bedroom with a second tv and an ensuite. There was so much space and loads of storage areas. I already stay with this hotel when ever I'm in Darwin but I will most definitely be a returning customer now. The staff were amazing and I felt very lucky. I have already recommended this hotel to several people since.

Arriving at the hotel after a long flight, we found the room pleasantly cooled during the Darwin heat. Then you open the fridge expecting to find a cool drink. But no, there is nothing but a jug of cold water, no soft drink or juice. And only 2 little tetra type packs of milk. Then you are expected to pay $$$ for breakfast even if you only want cereal or toast. It seems the trend since Covid to maximize profit and minimize any sort of extras that were once the norm when staying in a hotel.
Saying that, the pool and pool bar area is nice and inviting after a long hot day of site-seeing.

Hi johnwR2643IN, Thanks for the review. It's great to see that you found your room pleasantly cooled. We don't have complimentary drinks or minibar in the room. We do offer beverages for purchase at reception or the pool bar. Breakfast is always an expectation to be paid if consumed. We do offer bed and breakfast rates, and this would have been an option available before your booking was confirmed. If you do stay at the Travelodge again including a continental breakfast on your package may be beneficial. The pool area is a perfect way to end the day relaxing after all long day of exploring. Thanks for staying at the Travelodge and we hope to welcome you back again.

We stayed her for 4 days and unfortunately we were only able to sleep for one of those days due to noisy and inconsiderate neighbours. In saying that, whenever we complained, staff did take action and they did give us a complimentary breakfast on our last morning there. The pool is great and open for a good period of time to get the most use! The rooms are clean and cleaned every morning and coffee, milk and other essentials are replaced daily.
It was reasonably priced and breakfast was actually quite good minus the horrible coffee 😂

Also you can see what’s going on with the Uber. You can order a bigger car to accomodate you all. Some hotel offer pickup but the quote I got was $180 for a 10 min trip.

Hi. There is a shuttle bus that hotels will book for you for $15. I presume that you can take the same shuttle FROM the airport.
I had taken the Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin. There was no free shuttle in Adelaide to the train station, so I would presume it's the same in Darwin. The station in Darwin is a very long way out. Best to ask the hotel the most economical way of getting there. There was however a free shuttle included in the Ghan fare from the train to central Darwin hotels. Probably the same deal in Adelaide. Sorry to be vague but I did this trip the opposite way around. Maybe call the rail company.
