Darwin Esplanade Central is the ultimate hotel for kicking back without leaving the convenience of the city. While staying with us, you'll be next door to services, including Coles (groceries), Liquorland, car rentals and chemists. Restaurants, cafés, bars and fast-food outlets line the nearby streets, so if you're feeling a date night or just hungry after a long day, you don't need to travel far. You will also find several local attractions within walking distance of your accommodation, including Crocosaurus Cove, the Deckchair Cinema and the Aboriginal Fine Art Gallery. Alternatively, you can rent a car to visit the famous Kakadu National Park, Litchfield National Park, or Katherine Gorge. Take a calming stroll through Bicentennial Park and visit many memorial locations and beaches to dive into the area's rich history or enjoy the ocean breeze as it sweeps in. Along your walk, you'll also find children's play areas, a fish feeding sanctuary, picnic areas and beautifully manicured gardens. We recommend visiting at sunset to enjoy one of Australia's rarest views; watch as the late afternoon sun hides behind a distant shore and bathes the sky in rich hues of red and orange. Enjoy ultimate comfort in the best-value hotel on The Esplanade.

Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good location but desk was never attended. On arrival in middle of day I had to ring a mobile number and wait for someone to come. There was no one there at check out or on the one other occasion during my 4 day stay that I wanted some local advice.
The apartment was spacious. The bedroom was in an alcove not separate from lounge.
No oven. An irregular assortment of utensils and crockery, cutlery in the kitchen - only one drinking glass but 5 wine glasses, one breakfast bowl but 4 saucers. No scourer for saucepans, no tea towel.
Shower over bath and awkward to get in

This was the cheapest accommodation we could find in Darwin for a CBD location for 8 days. What a bargain!! On the Esplanade with all the other top class hotels, close to Shenanigans pub, Coles, Bicentennial Park, Peel Street with all its restaurants, shops etc. And that’s not all!! The room was older but was beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean, had everything that opens & shuts- washing machine, drier, dishwasher, iron, hairdryer, iron but no board, really comfy lounge, all you need for any length of time in Darwin. The air conditioning was excellent - just on and off, no fiddling, no dials, worked perfectly! This is so so important in the extreme Darwin climate! Reception daytime staff were excellent and the security guards on duty after hours leave a bit to be desired. They do their best but are quite inept. On the side we were on, we overlooked the youth hostel and Shenanigans Pub which were noisy till the curfew 10.00 pm so we couldn’t use the veranda, however, we didn’t hear anything when the door was closed. If we visit Darwin again, this would be our first choice!

No parking allocated to apartment meaning when the few carspaces were taken, we had to park on the street. We got booked!!! because it's a street with only a 2hr parking

Stayed a month, paid $3,000 and got No change of linen for the first 2 weeks!!
Poor service from desk clerk, very rude. Kept saying, " I'll refer it to the body corporate"
Pool has no key or card security and anyone from the street can jump in AND they did!!! 5 local boggans got in. We exited and asked the desk clerk to escort them out.
He wouldn't.

So basically our 1 month $10,000 holiday got ruined because of this stupid accommodation.
It's expensive I'm comparison with others yet there's no service or quality.

Not a nice place to stay

Thank you Esplanade for the worst time ever!!

Mark and Rodney were amazing hosts and even assisted by providing insightful and practical tips and suggestions with our DAR to Uluru itinerary.
We loved the 1st stay so much, we came back on the return. Mark and Rodney went above and beyond in facilitating this. The apts are well-appointed, fully equipped and comfy. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed!

Plenty of other apartments in Darwin to stay. We stayed a week and NO room service the entire time, 2 towels supplied, sheets not changed to last 7 days….seriously!!
Interior old and worn, tears in upholstery, shower fittings leaking and faucets loose on the wall.
Plates and glasses missing, minimal kitchen utensils, no frypan, no oven.
On arrival, toiletries =1 bath gel, 1 shampoo, 6 conditioners. 1 washing detergent, 2 dishwashing powder…… this all for 7 Days stay!!!
Swimming pool closed
