First impressions were a bit disappointing as the overall look was a bit old and tatty but that's really a little harsh as the place is very spacious and well equipped but the appliances are showing signs of age and general damage, hence the tatty feel.
It felt clean overall..... although the top of the cooker hood hadn't been cleaned in a while and there was a bottle of water under the bed which wasn't ours! That's being really picky though.
There was no one at reception when we arrived mid afternoon on a Sunday and we hadn't received our arrival email as it was sent while we were in flight. Consequently we had to use the emergency phone there and someone talked us through opening the key safe and all was well.
The smoke alarm had been removed leaving just the base plate on the ceiling. I am guessing possibly because it's outside the bathroom and the shower steam had been setting it off.
It wasn't a worry to us as the building is only 2 floors and we had steps right outside our door, but I suspect this would be in breach of rules and regulations for rentals.
It was nice to have a shower that was easy to operate!
It wasn't full during our stay but it was very quiet to sleep and we generally didn't hear any noise from neighbouring rooms.
It's only a small property with a central pool area which again wasn't noisy.
The other thing we felt on arrival was that it was too far out of town. I think being Sunday it felt quieter but in reality it's just a 5 minute walk to Woolworths and proved to be a great location.
We really enjoyed our stay and were sorry to leave.

Clean, tidy, secure and conveniently close to Mitchell Street. Two bedroom apartments, beautifully airconditioned with lush tropical greenery surrounds - a rare find at such a great price. Very friendly and helpful staff with the Manager being so accommodating and generous in supporting our travel movements. Highly recommend +++ We will absolutely be back – thank you!

A great place to stay. Pretty setting with lush foliage around. I was fortunate to have a ground floor apartment which also had a small private outdoor area. Easy to access after hours by collecting the key from the lock box out side of the office. Rooms were clean and seemed to have everything you'd need for a stop over. But the very very best part was the jug of cold water that was in the fridge when I arrived. I was so parched after travelling all day, that all I could think of was getting something to drink. It was an absolute relief to find that cold water waiting for me. Stayed in Room 2 and the hot and cold mixwe on the shower is the wrong way around. H is actually cold, and C is hot. Took me while to figure this out and get the shower warm enough to get under. Otherwise a 10/10 place to stay.

Clean, tidy, had everything we needed. Conveniently close to Mitchell Street, without the noise. Great security. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money when a second bedroom is required. The best part was the owner's super flexibility to accommodate a late check-out.

A combination of price and suitable accommodation led me here - 2 bed apartment at a reasonable price, kitchen, laundry and a pool.
I’m pleased we found it, very clean and everything you need really, with lovely staff too.
Also walking distance to most things in CBD but on a quiet street with leafy surrounds.
One thing - PLEASE fix the internet, it’s abominably slow and means sitting outside or using 4G, which is ultimately expensive.
Otherwise great value, I’ll recommend to visitors who spend twice as much elsewhere!

My family and I stayed across 2 2-bedroom units for 10 days. They also were able to accomodate my elderly grandparents by providing them with a ground floor unit. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and well-appointed. Excellent service from Guy, who went out of his way to help us on a number of occasions. Located an easy walk from the main shopping area as well. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

We stayed in room 7, 3 adults and an 11 month old. The apartment had everything you needed to be self sufficient. The grounds are beautiful with all the lush gardens and central pool. The staff were accomodating , lots of parking and close to the city centre. Would choose this again.

We stayed for three nights at City Gardens Apartments in a two bedroom ground floor apartment. The complex has a lovely tropical feel with lush foliage surrounding the rooms and a shaded pool area. We were in a deluxe two-bedroom apartment which has a full kitchen and laundry facilities in the bathroom. The living areas and the bedrooms all have air conditioning and ceiling fans, which are definitely required. The town centre is an easy ten minute stroll from the property and nearby buses run to other areas you may want to visit (Parap etc). The staff were very friendly and helpful, the property was well maintained and the rooms very comfortable. This is a good value option when visiting Darwin, particularly if you are intending on a longer stay and want to cook your own meals. Highly recommended.

This was my third stay here in the last two years. If you want luxury go down to the Esplanade or waterfront. If you want affordable stay here! This stay was for 5 nights. The apartments are clean and well appointed and fully air conditioned. The pool area is great although we didn't make use of it this visit. Each unit has laundry facilities. CBD is within walking distance. We felt safe and secure at all times. Yes some things are a little "tired" perhaps but rooms are being updated. Our bathroom was lovely and new! Accommodation in Darwin is really expensive. The City Gardens Apartments are a wonderful option for something clean, comfortable and spacious l

Hello. My thoughts were Yellow Water Cruise in Kakadu and or a Corroboree Billabong cruise. They will be operating unless we get a big few days of rain. You could hire a car and drive out there and there are still a few other things you can see along the way. Litchfield National Park would be worth a look and may be able to swim by then. NT Wildlife Park is worth a look and a Jumping Croc Cruise will be good also and will be available. I will let you know if I find out anymore information. Looking forward to seeing you and have a safe journey. Guy
