Fortunately we had very low expectations for our stay in Uluru. All our friends who have been there said to stay as little time as possible but see as much as possible. It's good advise. Uluru is fantastic but the hotels and restaurants are what you would expect from an artificial village, This hotel reminded me of dorm rooms at...

We had a rock view room which most certainly did what it said on the label. The views were magnificent. Sadly this hotel was not. It is not the 4-5* it proclaims to be, more like 3. The room was large and mostly clean. However, from the terse greeting at reception, to the moldy shower curtain, via the unswept balcony...

Hotel could be described as 'adequate' overall for the short duration. Nice restaurant for dinner. Absolute rip-off on the price of water!! The pool area was grubby. No drinks/food service as the pool bar was closed. The mesh over our patio doors in the bedroom was damaged, so we encountered too many cockroaches for my liking that could have been...

We, very luckily, had a large, comfortable room with a view of Uluru from the balcony which was excellent. The hotel is part of the larger resort which include several hotels and restaurants. There was a lovely pool and the grounds were sympathetically laid out. Thee is also a free on-site laundry and free wifi. There are several types of...

Team We absolutely loved our stay. Friendly staff great location. Some suggestions add a guest compendium to the room on the facilities available for guest. On our last night we discovered a laundry and ice machine by accident. These are fantastic services so don't forget to tell guests how and where they can be accessed Just a small opinion on...

Inefficient facility that caters well to the tour companies and treats other guests like crap. To pay $425 for an average room and get the sort of crappy service this hotel provided is unacceptable. We got to the hotel around 12:30 and were told our room was not ready, that guaranteed check in is 3pm but we should check in...

The Desert Gardens Hotel is a good mid-range choice at Yulara. Other options include going full out and staying at Longitude 131 for over $1k per night, or backpacking at the Outback Pioneer Hotel. You are a captive audience in terms of entertainment and supplies in the resort, but there is a post office, supermarket, restaurants where you can pay...

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. We had a handicap room which was a nice size and easy to move around. There was a safe, fridge, kettle, teapot, coffee and tea, iron, ironing board, hair dryer and heater as well as air conditioning. We had a nice view of Ayers Rock even though we were on the ground floor....

This hotel is the only one in the area. If you plan on going to Uluru and seeing the rock, this is it! The hotel had all the amenities we needed, as well as a wonderful buffet breakfast. Couldn't ask for a more convenient location to see the major sites! Hotel staff was pleasant and room was clean. Lovely patio...

Ayers Rock resort is essentially a holiday village built to support the tourist industry for Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon and the Aborigine sacred sights. There's a choice of hotels each providing for varying price/luxury needs. The Desert Gardens Hotel promotes itself as 4-5* but actually feels more like 3-4*. We felt it was the middle of the road choice...
