Visited as 2A & 1C. We used the apartments as a base to explore the area. The Apartments are part of the Ayers Rock Resort accommodation available at Uluru and can be considered the mid-level of the three available. You can access the majority of facilities at Uluru regardless of which accommodation you stay at.

We had a one bedroom apartment with a fold out sofa bed. Be aware that the toilet/bathroom is an ensuite to the bedroom so no access to anyone who is sleeping on the sofa bed without entering the bedroom. However, the apartments are of a good size and have a small balcony area to sit outside and watch the world go by or enjoy a sundowner – weather and flies allowing of course.

The main positive with the apartments is having a full suite of facilities including a kitchen. This allows you to organise your own food and cleaning if needed.

Uluru is expensive due to its remote location and lack of competition. It is also a harsh environment. Subsequently, the apartments are tired and in need of some TLC. If you were to pay the price you pay for Emu Walk virtually anywhere else then you would be disappointed but in terms of Uluru then it is to be expected.

We stayed for 2 nights in a one bedroom apartment on the first floor.....the apartment was reasonably clean & spacious, perfect for a couple. The kitchen had mostly everything we needed, a washing machine which we made full use of & basic toiletries in the bathroom. The air con which was much needed even in early october was a little noisy but worked efficiently. The only quibble was the lack of parking- a small parking lot in front which was always full. We had to park in the Desert Garden parking most of the time. If you don't get servicing done they refund you $10 which was pretty decent as we didnt bother with service on Day 2 . There were already plenty of towels & toiletries to cover a 2 day stay. The accommodation was decent definitely not luxurious by any standard which obviously doesnt justify the price but there's really no choice if one wishes to visit Uluru but to stayin one of the hhotels run by the Acor group.

We stayed at the Emu Walk Apartments Yulara Central Australia. It located about 10 minutes drive from Ayers Rock Airport.

There is a free shuttle between the airport and the Yulara village.

At first impressions the apartments look tired but once we entered our apartment it was a different world.

We select a one bedroom apartment which had a king bed and the two lounges in the lounge room also convert to beds

The apartment was very spacious and presented well. It was incredibly clean.

The kitchen is large and has all the modern cons and good quality kitchen tools. Very impressed with the range of kitchen utilities. The refrigerator was fairly new.

The apartment has a separate washer and dryer. Cleaning staff kept the place in immaculate condition.

The little extras like shampoo, body lotion were generous and the free coffee was a good quality Columbian and there was 4 different types of high end Dilmah tea, it was by brand exception tea.

Reception staff welcomed us very well, very courteous staff.

The town is very small and you walk to the town centre in about 3 minutes.

There is IGA supermarket covering most food items. There are 5 different restaurants in the town centre.

There is no pharmacy in the town so ensure you have all of your medical supplies.

Mobile telephone services are excellent at the apartments but limited at the airport.

There are tour operators active at the information centre. However, they only pick up passengers at the resort next door, five minutes walk.

Overall, the comfort of the apartments was excellent and we would have no hesitation to come back and enjoy ourselves at this facility.

Spent 4 nights in a one bedroom apartment from 9 March to 13 March.

The good
Excellent and helpful reception staff
Comfortable bed
Functional room design
Washing machine and dryer in room
Quiet location
Air conditioning works well

The bad
Bathroom amenities/consumables were not replenished when the room was serviced. Had to ask reception for more.
Looked clean upon entering however upon closer inspection the carpets were stained, debris on carpet hadn’t been vacuumed up and there were stains on the bedding, none of which was rectified during our stay.
The making of the bed consisted of pulling up the sheets. The extra pillows we placed on the floor next to the bed remained there for the entire stay.
Air conditioning noisy at night but ok when the two rooms to the bedroom were closed.
Bedding not changed during our stay.

The ugly
The standard of the housekeeping was poor.
Housekeeping staff entered our room twice while we were there without knocking.
On the first day the toilet seat would not stay up so I loosened the seat, moved it forward and tightened it to fix the problem. There was yellow residue underneath the seat back that was visible after this.
This residue was obvious and was not cleaned during any of the room servicing despite the toilet paper having a folded point to indicate that it had been cleaned and serviced.

If a representative of the accommodation replies to this review please make it constructive and not the typical patronising ‘sorry and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay or we are addressing your concerns with our staff reply! None of this will assist us.

If the bad and ugly points could be rectified this would be a great place to stay. These points unfortunately outweigh the good points and I could not recommend staying there to any of my friends or family

3 night stay
We were supposed to be in Vanuatu now but with travel restrictions pulled on us we decided to bring out retirement holiday plans & do some domestic travel & ended up here
Well over 40% off rates was a big attraction as by great.
Nice queen bed (mattress just right), new clothes washer, excellent sun block curtains, quiet & fridge is located well away from the bedroom so you don't hear it switching off & on in the night like other hotels..
Great supply of towelling & those towels are big, thirsty & fluffy
Just a good level of people around - not overcrowded
Nice spot & glad we made the effort 👍

First impression did not last.
Upon walking in I was happily surprised. It appeared clean, modern and the airconditioning was great. The bedroom was also lovely. The End.
The bathroom was putrid and in disrepair. The grout had so much black it was rididulous. I was that concerned I went and spent $25 (cheapest available in the town square while I was staying) on a pair of thongs to wear in the shower. Not sure when the last time the toilet was scrubbed either. Sitting on the toilet you get a great view of the broken off tiles under the vanity. I could see all of the dust in the hairdryer from my same view point.
Thought I should check out the kitchen when something on the carpet stabbed me in the foot. The long part of an earring - not mine. The kitchen had food drops on the bench, inside the cupboard needs work and the stove top had been wiped down but not cleaned.
The sign in the apartment said it would be serviced daily (but our own dishes). Fair enough. But what do they consider a service? After my first night I returned to my room to find I now had a couple of toiletries added - and a bobby pin - not mine. Nothing else had been touched.
By the second night as I returned from a great outing, I noticed other rooms had Do Not Disturb signs on their doors. I didn't have one of those.
It was great to have a washing machine, and it's a small detail, but clean it between guests. I don't need left over washing powder in the machine.
Very diappointing apartment. With Covid and all of the time resorts were shut down in 2020, management had plenty of time to get onto maintenance but they didn't.
I would like to say though that the recption staff were lovely, helpful and efficient.

As a family we always stay in self contained holiday apartments and Emu Walk Apartments are probably one of the best we have stayed in anywhere in the world.
The two bedroom apartment was spacious across three levels and very well appointed. The living spaces were comfortable and high quality. The air conditioning worked well but was not intrusive.
The only minor issue I would raise is the lack on cupboard hanging space in the bedrooms- just once small wardrobe in the twin room and nothing in the main bedroom. The bedrooms were on the smaller side, but as we didn't spend alot of time in these rooms, it didn't matter.
The overall resort and amenities were first rate and provided everything you needed for a wonderful holiday. Highly recommended!

The apartments are great for a bit of extra space. They are very tired looking though. A fresh coat of paint especially along the skirting boards would be great. And I'm not sure why they have carpet in the rooms as the insects get stuck in there each day. If it was just plain fake floor boards it would be so much easier to clean. The apartments need a vacuum cleaner and a clothes horse in each room. There's a tv in the bedroom and another in the Lounge but only one remote to be shared between them. Just for noting. The back balcony patio areas are very un inviting with leaves, dead creatures and overgrown plants. A tidy would make sitting out there more inviting although there's no view. The cleaners are really hard working but like most cleaners probably under strict timeframes to get the rooms cleaned. It would be great if a deep clean was done before a check-in (walls wiped down, furniture moved and vacuumed underneath, blinds and curtains cleaned, window sills clenaed, patio cleaned up etc). A toilet brush in a proper container would be good (can't stand the ones that hang out and you have to see it) . Toilets have some stains. We went and purchased our own bleach. The AC is in farenheit for some reason. Reception staff are so friendly and welcoming. Its only 5 min walk from the town square. The pool at desert gardens hotel is nice and big. Its conformable but just need a spruce. The dust and the bugs are unavoidable but could be cleaned up a little.

We were very happy with our stay at Emu Walk Apartments. The apartment was spotlessly clean, modern and spacious. The kitchen was very well set up and it is a short walk to the local IGA if you'd like to cook in. The IGA isn't expensive so it's a great option to save a few $ here and there.

Regardless of where you stay you can use all the facilities in the resort and we made use of that. We did art classes at Sails, took dips in the pools at both the Desert Gardens and Sails and visited a variety of restaurants around the resort. At the time of booking Emu Walk and Sails were the same price but I'm glad we chose the apartments as we really appreciated the extra space. I'd definitely stay here again.

Tip for families and groups - book a hire car. It's well worth it even with the extra "premium location" costs and km surcharge. We self toured the entire region and I'm so glad we weren't stuck with the tour group options.

I stayed at Emu walk apartments with my family.( 5 adults). Our apartament was confortable and very spacious. It was clean and had a home feeling. It had two big bedrooms and a big lunchroom with a queen sofa bed; another big sofa and a long table for meals. Every room had a big screen tv. The kitchen was well furbished and we cooked a few meals while we were there. The only annoying thing was the air con: very noisy. The apartaments are close to everything. In a few minutes we could walk to the local cafes o use the swimming pool from the nearby hotel( included in the price). I highly recommend this place.

Hi Leopard555 While Emu Walk Apartments does not offer an onsite restaurant you are welcome to enjoy a buffet breakfast at the neighbouring Desert Gardens Hotel. Alternatively Emu Walk Apartments is also situated next to the Town Square where you will find lighter alternatives. All of above can be charged back directly to your room.
