We stayed in a Standard room which was well kept and in good condition. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was good although the sewage grill was a bit smelly. The negatives were the quality of the food at the carmichaels restaurant, slushy risotto, smelly barramundi and very chewy kangaroo skewers. The flavours were also a bit of miss and...

Dear locosfc Glad to read you enjoyed your Standard Room at Kings Canyon Resort. It is disappointing to read your comments about the food at Carmichael's Restaurant - I do hope you were able to advise the restaurant staff of your requirements. I do apologise for any service you may have felt was either abrupt or rude . We certainly...

Despite an emergency on the day we arrived. Staff and the hotel still managed to have everything just about ready for us! Our room was clean and all ready, the restaurant had no problem serving us a wonderful dinner. Lovely setting and nice and quiet at nights. The dingo's were quite respectful as we were to them! Wish we had...

Dear Sheila M Thank you for your review of your stay with us in a Deluxe Spa room . We are always delighted when guests have enjoyed the services and facilities we offer in this remote pocket of Watarrka National Park , even more especially when we have unexpected events to deal with . We are proud to offer the...

Check-in was efficient and super friendly. Our Standard room was large and clean (it came with a real live dingo on the veranda which quickly moved on when she saw us). We parked directly outside the door. The bed was comfy. We ate at the BBQ each night. They cater for vegetarians, vegans etc. The salad bar must be the...

The restaurant is supposed to be a little exclusive and, given the location we understand that the possibilities are limited. But the food was a little too lazily prepared. The prices are high, again, we understand as it is really quite far from "civilisation" but the cook might just try a little harder...

Dear LvdG_12, I do hope you asked the "sweet waitress" to relay your comments to our kitchen team . Our qualified chefs do work very hard to produce quality food offering a variety of dishes on the a la carte menu in Carmichael's Restaurant nightly from 530pm - 830pm . We also have the Outback BBQ restaurant with live entertainment...

A stunning double room which was classed as 'standard' but it should be deluxe!! Nice finishes and a great back drop. Clean and tidy, only the air conditioner should go cooler than 24 degrees. The only thing is about the layout of the resort itself, everything is scattered around so there is a lot of walking - on a hot...

Given how remote the resort is, it was a pleasant surprise to arrive at this resort. We arrived early in need of doing some washing, we were kindly directed to the laundry facilities together with some towels to take a dip in the pool whilst our room was made ready and our washing done. Our room was clean and comfortable, the...

We stayed in a deluxe room, sadly didn't have time to try the spa bath but the room was lovely, clean and spacious. The view from the room of the rocks was awesome. Facilities were great, lovely pool, gardens and Carmichaels for food. Staff member Jennifer was a real gem. Just watching her in the restaurant, her speed, patience and...

Enjoyed the proximity to the township and walking into the town every morning for breakfast and then later for dinner as well. Room was tidy and well maintained and we enjoyed making coffee with the machine.

Only real accommodation for visiting Kings Canyon. Rooms better than look from outside. Large queen beds with all the amenities. Tv reception was poor. No free wifi. Pool was excellent in nice surroundings and very clear water. Dining options very limited - basic or a la carte. Good viewing area for sunset across Canyon.

Thank you quarryhouse99 for your review of your stay at Kings Canyon Resort in a standard room. It is lovely to hear you enjoyed the room and the oasis of the resort pool. Very limited selection of accommodation in the area, so basically this was the option. Beds equipped with typical layers of blankets and sheets. Aircon working after we called reception for maintenance. No wifi provided. Pool ok. Restaurant on premises served good but expensive food. Very friendly and serviceminded staff.
