We stayed here for 4 nights, but it was a bit disappointing. Firstly the room we were allocated had no view because there were large palm tree crowns right in front of our balcony which also blocked the natural light (we were on the 1st floor), and in any case the view was of the side of the hotel and not the garden as we had expected when we'd booked. On the website they advertise that all rooms have either garden or mountain views.

The room itself was fine, and was quite spacious and well cleaned. However, we were very surprised when they didn't come to make the bed or clean the bathroom. Since we arrived on a public holiday weekend we didn't say anything to the management on the first morning, we thought it was because of that. Then, on our third day there we discovered a tiny notice stuck to the bathroom mirror at the opposite end to the hand basin, saying that they didn't want to disturb our peace and quiet (or some such description, I can't remember the exact wording), so if we wanted our room serviced we had to request it at the front desk!! Since when have you needed to ask to have your room done? This is patently ridiculous. And if you are supposed to ask, the notice to tell you should be larger and placed in a much more prominent position. We ran out of tea and milk supplies and had to keep asking for more.

Also, neither of the restaurants at the hotel are open for lunch at present, and if you want dinner there it's always booked out far in advance. We didn't try to book until we'd arrived so had to wait until quite late on our first night there before a table was available for us - and we were hotel guests! If you don't have a car, as we didn't, it's quite a long walk into town. Or you can settle for room service, with a very limited menu. Or you can go to the Casino down the road if you want to eat elsewhere because they can't fit you in at the Bistro or Hanumans, which is a good Asian restaurant within the hotel, but which is operated as a separate business. After the first night we always booked well ahead of time to ensure being able to get a meal within the hotel at a reasonable hour. When we did get into the Bistro it was very good food and although there weren't many staff, the service was OK.

To sum up, it's a nice hotel, not super luxurious, but the lack of meal alternatives and having to request cleaning lets it down. I have been given to understand that the shortage of trained hospitality staff is the main reason why service is so minimal. This is a common complaint from all the hotels and restaurants we visited during our stay in Central Australia and they are totally overwhelmed with the number of visitors who are attracted by the generous government discounts and packages. They just don't have the people to cope with the numbers, so anyone considering travelling here over the next year or so should be aware of this.

I stayed recently over a weekend. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They were able to accomodate my requests and suggest places of interest to visit in Alice Springs.

The room was modern and clean. However, they do not seem to be using the stickers on the TV control and the door of the room to indicate that they have been cleaned and sanitised, as part of the Hilton CleanStay program during the COVID-19 pandemic. The heating was not working, even when the temperature control was turned to the maximum temperature, so the room did get a bit cold at night and in the morning.

I had the buffet breakfast in the restaurant, which was fine, but it was crowded with all tables taken. It looked like they were only using one side of the seating area so maybe they could consider opening up the other side too. It was also very cold so hopefully they can get the heating working in the restaurant too.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay and will return.

We booked a suite which was basically two rooms. It had one full bathroom and one powder room. There was also a microwave and toaster in the room with a small sink. There was no cutlery or plates etc. so not particularly functional. The spoons left for tea and coffee were dirty and there was no dishwashing liquid under the sink.
Beds were comfortable and we had a nice view over the golf course.
We had takeaway coffee in the morning from saltbush restaurant which was good.
The gym looked to be well equipped and people were using the pool where towels were supplied poolside.
The hotel is about 5 mins in a car to Todd Mall.
We played golf at Alice Springs golf club and the course was great.
We ate at Hanuman , the food was good but service not great.
The hotel as a whole is clearly running on minimal staff which is understandable.
Unfortunately when we asked the front desk about Simpson’s Gap they pretty much had no information and no knowledge of the area, which was disappointing.

We stayed a 2 night stay with a tour company as the start at Alice Springs of our travels down through to Uluru by coach, & found this hotel to be extremely good.

Meals in the restaurant were all delicious - plenty of choice in the included breakfast, the evening A La carte had plenty to choose from as well. There is another Asian influenced restaurant there too, if you want a change or something different, which you need to book in for as it gets busy.

The pool was great & a peacock was seen strutting around & enjoying the quiet surroundings as well. There's a spa there as well.

Rooms were generous in size, & beds were very comfortable.

Would recommend staying here as it has a lovely feel about it, is well maintained & very clean.

Staff were friendly & check in was efficient. Drinks in the bar were also good & were fairly priced. A lovely stay all in all.

We stayed at Double Tree for two nights. At first we walked in without booking a room but were told they were completely booked out. When I said that I had seen different rooms available on their website, the supervisor at the front desk shrugged her shoulders with little care and said there must’ve been a mistake because there were no rooms available. We walked outside and went online, booked our room and walked back in the doors to the front desk with our booking confirmation (the supervisor quickly got on the phone to avoid us) and collected keys. I spoke to the Duty Manager (Roman) and he said they are advised to not suggest clients to go online even if it increases their occupancy rates.
We booked a “King Room with Mountain Views”. Photo below shows the actual views.
Apparently we were meant to request for our room to be serviced, however, on check-in front desk staff failed to advise. When we saw housekeeping and asked when they would be coming in to make up our room they told us they were unable to do so because it wasn’t on their job sheet. They gave us clean towels and apologised.
Dinner at Saltbush Restaurant was disappointing. Food was just satisfactory (except the stale bread roll), restaurant appeared to be understaffed with disorganisation evident.
Dinner at Hanuman restaurant was great! Food was delicious and service efficient. This restaurant is very popular so best to book at least 24hours in advance.
I’d suggest staying at the Mercure down the road. We won’t be back as it certainly didn’t live up to the Hilton’s standards.

We stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs for 2 nights on our tour of the outback and we enjoyed our stay. Our room had all that we required, large modern room it was clean, comfortable beds with a good functional bathroom with the usual amenities.
There is a guest laundry for a small fee unfortunately one washer and dryer weren't working which meant you had a longer wait to do your laundry.
We at ate at Saltbush asian restaurant on site the first night after making a reservation earlier in the afternoon, just as well as it was fully booked and had a nice meal.
The next night we had a 3 course smorgasbord meal which was delicious as was the buffet breakfasts.
The only thing I felt could be improved was the grounds around the hotel needed a really good clean up however due to the staff shortage in the NT I guess this wasn't a priority for the moment.
The staff we encountered were helpful and friendly which is always a bonus when staying in this class of hotel.

We had a nice room that suited our 3 night stay quite well, but the service was very disappointing.
As others have stated, we arrived at 6pm, having travelled all day, but were told we needed to make a reservation for dinner. We walked past the Saltbush restaurant on the way to our room, and were told we could be seated after 8.00pm. We returned at 8.00pm, to then wait an hour for our order to arrive, noting many upset diners who had also been waiting a long time for their meals. We decided not to return to this restaurant, but booked for the other two nights at Hannoman, which was excellent.
On the Saturday we returned to the hotel between tours, to quickly grab something to eat for lunch, to find nothing open and the only option room service. With a very limited menu ( I'm gluten free) we ordered, and only just managed to eat, before our next tour left form the hotel. The beer for hubby arrived with no bottle opener in sight, and he had to go hunting to find someone to help. The lovely maintenance man was sympathetic, and uncapped for him.
Our room was not serviced, and I had to keep going to reception to get one small carton of milk ( and they had to search all through reception to find that one), each time I wanted tea of coffee in the room.
My main complaint, is that if you can't service your guests, then you shouldn't fill the place, at $370 a night, and just say because of Covid, you are short staffed. Usually short staffed, means you cut back, but like others, I wonder if this is just an excuse to take high room rates, with very low costs.
Nice hotel, good facilities, very poor service.

At check in I was expected to pay for the entire stay up front, this was a first in 5 years of staying at this exact same location.
I did expect to pay @$300 deposit but not the entire amount.
Eventually came to an agreement but it wasn’t satisfactory.
The next morning I left a request on my pillow as I had been very cold that night. I came back that night from being in a all day meeting and sadly had to use a doubled up blanket as request not fulfilled. I did call housekeeping, but call went to reception as all of housekeeping had gone home.
The duty manager very kindly brought a gift to the room.
That night I decided on room service...
I ordered a clear soup broth with vegetables and some bruschetta, with a drink.
Once order placed (this had to be repeated a few times due to a communication problem) I asked how long it would be. I was told 30-40 minutes. After an hour I called to ask where my food was. The reply was, what did I order? I repeated the order and was told it was in front of him. Again I asked how long? 5 minutes, 20 minutes and another call, again told 1 minute and you’ll have it, 10 minutes later food arrived with no drink, another call was made and another 10 minutes the order was complete.
On night 4, in the lobby bar, 1st cocktail was ordered, on payment I was about to be overcharged by $2, I pointed this out to the waitress and she seemed annoyed, saying that was the price, I showed her the price on the menu before it was reluctantly corrected.
The 2nd cocktail I ordered, once the foam was stirred was basically only half the glass.
I asked if I could take my remaining entree of Olives to my room as a curtesy, only to be told they “don’t do room service” and if I wanted the olives I had to go to the restaurant next door to see if they would do it as room service for me. I walked out, with my olives and back to my room.
I’m really not sure at this point in time if I will return to Doubletree Alice Springs.
This stay was a huge disappointment after so many positive visits.
This place has been quiet for nearly a year and really need to wake up before they loose all their customers.

I will speak to duty manager before making my mind up for the future

This is a large and comfortable hotel. I had a bit of difficulty checking in as there was a small problem with the booking. Anyway, we were assigned a room that was the furthest away from the lobby, which was spacious and had a small terrace. Initially, the bathroom did not seem to have any toilet paper until I found it ‘hidden’ under the wash basin! The hotel has two restaurants. One is an Indian themed eatery and the other is more international cuisine. We chose the latter as my wife is allergic to garlic and spices in general. The Saltbush restaurant turned to be good. It is managed by a very friendly Indian, who recommended that we should get some anti-fly netting. This was certainly extremely useful advice, not only in Alice Springs but also during most of our trip in Australia. For lunch, my wife had pan seared duck but in spite to telling the waiter that my wife was allergic to garlic, the dish arrived with garlic. To their credit, the staff quickly acknowledged their mistake and very soon afterwards brought a grilled breast of chicken with green beans, which my wife loved. I had linguine with prawns but it was a bit greasy for my taste but still good. Breakfast at this hotel is also very good. The poached eggs were very tasty. There is also a good assortment of fruit, bread, pastries and hot drinks. Look out for the friendly peacock that exhibits itself every morning in the garden.

The rooms are comfortable with efficient a/c (much needed in Alice Springs), comfortable bed, a good desk, good wifi, good quality toiletries and a good pool area. The two restaurants open in the hotel are also very good. Room servicing and cleaning was very good. I understand that COVID-19 has placed constraints on businesses but it was disappointing that the bar was closed and the pool bar was also closed, I've stayed in several hotels recently where the bar is open. The gym opening hours are also reduced ( due to cleaning requirements etc). 8.00 a.m. is too late to open. I was staying for business and an 8.00 a.m. opening is too late to be of any use. I like an early morning gym visit rather than an evening visit as I either get back too late or I'm too tired to go. One of the reasons I chose the hotel was because it advertised a 24 hr gym. The website didn't mention anything about reduced hours (On the weekend, I went down twice at 8.00 a.m. and nobody came to clean until at least half an hour after the gym doors had been unlocked.
