Best hotel in town with all amenities you would expect - pool, room service, concierge 24/7, multiple restaurants and bars, as well as a casino if that's your thing. But the best thing for us was to be greeted each morning by the smiling Chef Owen who always had time for a chat and always willing to suggest local places to visit for the best experiences - we wouldn't have seen some great spots if it wasn't for Owen - he even took us to some cultural areas and as a First Nations person he was able to help us understand the stories as well as the cultural significance of the areas. Owen did not charge for this service, he offered and I'm glad we took him up on the offer. If I was Crowne Plaza I would make Uncle Owen their local Customer experience Manager immediately, thanks Crowne but thanks to Owen we'll definitely be back !

This hotel was booked for us by our travel agent as part of a package, so not sure of the specific cost. It was on the outskirts of the town which, based on the current unfortunate news stories about disturbances in the town centre, was good.
The location of the room was a little confusing as other reviewers had stated but was not a problem. The room was a good size with twin double beds, had good air conditioning and a nice bathroom. The biggest issue was the fact that the room was a good walk away from the centre and the WiFi didn’t extend to the room. This was important to us as looking ahead to review other potential activities later in our trip made this inconvenient. We ate at The Juicy Rump each of our 2 nights and the food was ok, nothing special. We didn’t feel like venturing further afield for dinner due to the aforementioned troubles. There was a fine dining restaurant at the hotel which we did not use, but breakfast was served there and was very good.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful but because of the WiFi and the average food, can only give 4 stars, but would still recommend.

Large room, small bathroom. WiFi & all mod cons. Stupid light-switches that bear no relation to which lights they turn on and off - a traveller's nightmare. Rooms are on two floors in Blocks distributed around the grounds, and around a central dining room (which is in a different block to reception). The signage to blocks & rooms is poor and confusing. You can tell it's bad because with your key they give you a map.

Response from Wyatt Martin, General Manager at Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters, an IHG Hotel
Responded 22 Oct 2024
Dear AndyF430, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the large room, WiFi, and modern amenities, though we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the bathroom size and the confusing light switches. We understand how frustrating that can be, and we’ll review ways to improve the setup. We appreciate your comments about the block layout and signage. While the map aims to assist guests, we recognize it indicates a need for clearer directions, and we’ll look into enhancing signage to make navigation easier. Your insights are valuable, and we hope to welcome you back with an even smoother experience! Kind Regards,

When checking in, Reception staff told us we hadn't paid and when it was established that we had blamed Flight Centre for their error. The room was tired, the door of the bar fridge didn't work properly and room service was adequate at best Once, the maid even failed to replace used wine glasses. We couldn't make the television work and there no in-room instructions. Eventually the remote was replaced, and we were given oral advice about operating the television. In the course of resolving this issue, we rang the Reception Hotline on three separate occasions, but no one answered so we had to go to Reception to obtain help. We were told to dial 9 instead of the Reception Hotline button, but the staff did not seem to think there was an issue. At breakfast one morning, we waited 25 minutes for two poached eggs to be cooked because it suited the chef to wait until he had a lot of orders that he could cook together. On top of this, the hotel is designed to make guests pass through the gaming area and smoke from the smoking room to access other facilities. We wrote to the hotel about all this on 7 May, but to date our correspondence has not even been acknowledged.

The hotel is in quite desperate need of a refresh. The bedroom cupboards wouldn’t close properly, the chair in the room was very grotty, there was mould growing in the shower that I cleaned up with a face washer so clearly the cleaning isn’t up to standard and the general decor is dated. Some of the tables and chairs in the casual dining area were chipped or torn. We were also told that because we wouldn’t be receiving housekeeping for the 4 nights we stayed (I guess staffing is problematic due to covid), we would receive $15/night in credits that could be used for food and beverage orders. When we went to check-out (2 rooms x 4 nights) we were told that because we didn’t have the vouchers we needed, that we wouldn’t be entitled to the credit. We were never told that we would receive vouchers and therefore we never knew to ask for them. I happened to find 2 vouchers sitting on my desk but missed out on the 3rd because of a Do Not Disturb sign I had hanging on my door (my colleague had his sign on the whole 4 days). We were entitled to $90 worth of credit but received nothing AND no housekeeping, yet we paid ludicrous prices for our rooms! The system feels intentionally complicated and misleading. If you know people aren’t receiving housekeeping, why don’t you just apply the credit off their bill at the end?? Why the need for complicated voucher systems that clearly don’t work! I wouldn’t stay here again.

We stayed in a large two-bed room for 5 nights. The storage was great to unpack. We were on the first floor and enjoyed having a balcony which overlooked the pool. Seating on the balcony.
Bedding was very comfortable and we found extra pillows and blankets in the upper cupboards.
Bathroom was very roomy with lots of storage and hairdryer. Best thing was the night light in the bathroom that allowed use during the night without waking the other person as no light had to be turned on.
2 robes and slippers were provided.
A decent ironing board and quality iron were appreciated. Lots of powerpoints for charging etc.
Due to staff shortages ( everywhere in NT) we were offered at checkin the option of not having room service and given $60 in food/ drink vouchers when we agreed.
We still had coffee tea sugar topped up and some fresh towels changed a few days in plus rubbish bins emptied. We used the vouchers on our last meal at Tali restaurant.
The pool was fantastic and I swam every afternoon with a spa afterwards.
Pool towels are available from Reception. There is a small kiosk on the pool deck but very limited range on offer which was disappointing.
There was no shuttle bus from the hotel and we had to use taxis ($10 ) till our hire car was available. The main street is easily walkable.
Dinner meals are limited to Tali restaurant at the hotel and we had two excellent meals there. You need to book ahead. Large tour groups seem to fill it up quickly or book for later in the evening to avoid the crush.
Other walk in option is a short walk away in the casino. Pub food but we had a nice meal there. Just uncomfortable seating inside. Too cold to sit outside but we froze every time the adjoining door to outside seating opened.
There is a room service menu.
The air con was very good. Had it on cooling during the day and heating on at night.
The layout of the blocks was a little confusing at first and lifts were spaced so we had a long walk to our room but at least there was a lift!
Interaction with staff was always friendly and helpful.
Overall a lovely experience for our first time in Central Australia.

Due to last minute Covid related flight changes I ended up in Alice, unexpectedly, one night on the way to Uluru with my partner and teenage kids.
I booked direct with the hotel call centre and saved $50 compared to hotel websites and had 4 full breakfast included at under $190.
We has a superior double double room overlooking the pool with two queen beds and a full refit of the bathroom, fittings, fixtures and carpet.
The new bathroom was beautiful although it did not have a bat, but I don’t really expect it in the desert.
If you have mobility issues or were staying longer a ground floor pool side room would be fantastic as the lift layout is limited due to the low level nature of the hotel.
One of the reasons I choose the hotel was the heated spa as pool temperature can still be unpleasantly cold in October, we were not disappointed.
Despite being poolside we were able to sleep with the balcony doors open which was fantastic. No late night pool noise and a lovely cool breeze rather than needing the room sealed and aircon pumping.
I found the reception staff really helpful.
We would happily stay there again especially on a longer trip.

We've stayed here before and it's OK although expensive. The service isn't great and the rooms need a bit of attention. When we arrived we found we couldn't open the door to the balcony and tried to ring down to ask about it. But the information on the phone is incorrect so we couldn't call! These matters could so easily be addressed by a little card in the room! As the hotel is so spread out, one doesn't want to walk to reception constantly.
We had a Mountain View room which was nice and spacious with lots of storage space.
The pool area is nice, but it was odd that bar service was promised till 7.00pm but both days we were around, the staff went home a long time before that. They could at least have walked around guests to see if anyone wanted anything before they left. (We did!)
Breakfast was OK but the scrambled eggs were totally rubbery! (I did try two days, to see if it was a one-off the first day.)
We asked for a late checkout, as this is part of being an IHG member, but the staff were not very helpful, claiming the hotel was 100% full (it clearly wasn't). Grudgingly they said we could have till 12 noon-which is all we had wanted anyway!
The housekeeping staff were very friendly.

Response from Wyatt Martin, General Manager at Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters, an IHG Hotel
Responded 7 Oct 2024
Dear Ert53, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet expectations, especially in terms of service and room upkeep. I understand how frustrating it must have been not being able to open the balcony door and having trouble contacting us due to incorrect phone information. We will certainly address this issue by updating the in-room phone details and ensuring clear communication. I also appreciate your feedback on the pool bar service and breakfast quality. I will follow up with the relevant teams to ensure service is available as promised and address the quality of our scrambled eggs to prevent recurrence. Regarding your late checkout request, I’m sorry that this was not handled with the level of hospitality we strive for. I will review our communication processes to ensure that our IHG members feel valued and their requests are accommodated wherever possible. Thank you for acknowledging the housekeeping team’s friendliness, and I hope we have the chance to improve your next stay. Kind Regards,

This is a nice property with good location. We arrived at 4.30pm and the room wasn’t ready even thought checkin is 3pm. Breakfast is basic but good and the service was fair. The upmarket restaurant was good but the other dining option was nothing short of appalling, serving cold food with at least a 90 minute wait. Most diners complained the night we were there with many cancelling orders and requesting refunds. Housekeeping in the room was non existent with low staffing levels being offered as reasoning. The management company seems amateur and most staff looked as thought they had no idea of what they were doing. We had a great meal at the neighboring Hilton and will try their accommodation next time. Our trip was still fantastic as Alice has so much to offer.

We had a really good stay at the Crowne Plaza Lasseters last week at the end of 10 days in the Northern Territory. Travelling as a family of four, our room had two large double beds in it, a balcony and was quite spacious.
The bathroom had a spacious shower and separate bath, there was a fridge in the room with milk and tea/coffee supplies. We were on the first floor, and there was a lift to take our luggage up. Our room had a balcony where we sat each day at dusk before going out for dinner.
There is a resort style pool at the hotel, including a spa, which we used on both days. There is a also a bar at the pool where one can buy a range of drinks and snacks. The pool was very pleasant and there were ample chairs around the pool area.
Check in was quick and easy, and friendly, as was check out. There are 2 restaurants at the complex (Tali and Juicy Rump). Tali is fine dining style, Juicy Rump is pub style. There is also a casino on the premises, but we didn’t go in there. Fast and free wifi is provided.
Be aware that the hotel does charge a surcharge for credit card payments, which we avoided by settling our bill in cash at checkout, which was accepted with no issues. I’m happy to use a credit card for booking and preauthorisation, but I don’t see any value in paying extra as a means of payment.
Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot, the most comfortable place we stayed in the NT over 10 days, and it would be our first choice again if returning to Alice Springs! Highly recommended.

There was no hidden tax, but there is a ~1.5% surcharge if you pay by credit card. This can be avoided by using a credit card to guarantee the room / authorisation only, but settling the bill in cash at the hotel. (We did this).
Yes they do
Sorry, I forgot to mention the dress code. No specific requirements, just tidy casual in all areas. When I was there in April of the 5 eating areas, only one was closed. They do have room service, and I mut say the light snack food available at the service bar was excellent.
