Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed in this motel as a stopover from our Uluru travels before leaving the next morning. The place is quite outdated, but that being said, rooms are spacious, very clean, reasonably priced and in an amazingly convenient location. Seriously, the location is great, walking distance to a grocery store, lots of cafes and stores.
Also felt very safe as it is gated which locks at a certain time of night and then you use a code to get access.
Also, even though it is off a main road, we did not experience any noise level and had a good sleep. Beds were comfy too.
No issues with wifi either
laundry is also available
The employee that checked us in was also very nice, polite and helpful :)

Elkira Court motel is centrally located in AS, close to Thrifty car rental, Stumpy's very good cafe and providing easy getaway to tourist places. Motel is old and showing its age but rooms are clean and well appointed. Secure parking is offered although spaces are limited.

This Hotel is exactly how is shown in the pictures: a bit dated but very clean and cozy. Also they have a swimming pool very appreciate during summer time, and a laundry witch is $4 (if I am not wrong) great thing if you have traveled for a bit. Lastly the hotel is very closed to the mall where you can find nice restaurants for lunch and the supermarket in case of any needs. I loved spent my time there even if I traveled solo I felt really safe and the reception personnel was very kind!

The best thing about this motel is the location as you can walk to many parts of Alice Springs, unfortunately it’s downhill from there. Ask to see the room before you part with your credit card. Although the room provides most of the things you expect from a motel, the whole place is out dated. Our beds were very uncomfortable as the mattresses and pillows had no support and looked about 30 years old. The shower was in the bath which shows how long it is since the bathroom has been updated. Outside areas needed cleaning and the pool area was not inviting at all. Parking was a nightmare every evening after we came back from having dinner.

Very basic but it's a room. You get what you're paying for, 3star at best. It's not exactly the cleanest, usual mold in the shower, water damage around the toilet, bedding is pretty ordinary, even brown to cover any well?? Yes, it's that sort of a motel. The parking is secure with the entire compound locked at night, the reinforced lock bars on the doors from previous kick in's or the like are a little in your face. BUT if you want something cleaner and better appointed you have to pay $100+ extra a night so just weigh up what you're getting and be educated unlike me! Don't believe the photos on the website 7yrs ago, that's not what you're getting. Would I stay here again, I don't think so. My colleague stayed in the Diplomat and stated it's worse so be aware in Alice!

Stayed in studio room. bed was terrible uncomfortable. Could feel wire frame on bed. Furniture is out dated, pay the extra money and stay somewhere else with comfortable bed and more updated room. Housekeeping is once every 5 days, they don't work weekends. I wouldn't recommend staying here

This structure is made up of three blocks, two of which are newly built. It is located a couple of blocks from the pedestrian center of Alice Springs which can be reached in 7 minutes on foot. The rooms are quite large and the bathroom functional. At guests' disposal: TV, fridge, hairdryer, kettle and tea and coffee set. The towels are of good quality and the mattresses allow for a good sleep. Prices are average. Staff a little inattentive but kind. Booked by booking and despite the "pay at the property" option they charged (in three parts) before the stay without any real reason.

Elkira is right in town which makes it easy to get around without using a taxi. The rooms are fairly basic but bed comfortable, hot water and good security. They close the gate at 7pm and it is easy to get back in after hours. The staff were very friendly and helpful and organised a car pickup to the airport after check out. As our flight was delayed they also allowed an extra hour to check out which was much appreciated.

We went to Simply Korean for dinner, a nice walk, maybe 20 mins, and then walked home but took a different route on the main road.

Breakfast the following morning at a fabulous cafe in Arcade. (can't recall name) but highly recommend it. fabulous coffee and tasty food.

For a 1 night stay would recommend.

I am really disappointed to have to write this review but the decline in the standards of this motel mirrors the sad decline of Alice Springs itself. The photos on teh Elkira Hotel webpage GROSSLY overstate the current standard of the motel.

I used to stay at this hotel pre-COVID on business trips and it was a nice place and good value as it was part of the Golden Chain of motels. I stayed this time on a personal visit because the YHA was not only booked out but the prices there have blown out to motel level prices. Not really a place for backpackers anymore!

It appears that many of the rooms at Elkira have been turned into an emergency or longer term accommodation hostel with a few kept for motel room bookings. The standards of cleanliness in the hotel surrounds and in the room have declined markedly and I would suggest at best a 2 STAR level.

The low standards start at reception which is dirty, stacked with unused furniture and with untrained staff. The grounds had rubbish strewn everywhere and the rooms have not been updated or maintained for some time.

It's unfortunately a very average facility these days.

And just by the way, I have always loved Alice Springs but I was shocked how many shops and facilities were closed, boarded up and there were very few tourists or locals in the streets. I hope it makes a comeback but it'll be a slow climb out from where it is currently.

Apart from the noise from the outside (street below our window) the adjoining rooms were also very loud, you could hear the toilet flush and the kettle boil, not to mention the neighbours conversation. Luckily for us the neighbour was an early sleeper.
The parking situation was also a mess!
