Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked at the 11th hour last Saturday and were delighted to have stayed, we found our hosts very friendly and ever so willing to ensure a comfortable stay. As we arrived early evening we were offered a hot meal, however our host Margaret soon whipped up toasted corn beef and pickle sandwiches well how can a man resist that.
We found not only the room clean and comfortable but the whole house was,our bedroom was comfortable and with an excellent bed, the breakfast was delicious and with many choices.
In the morning our hosts Margaret and husband Alf an AFL Melbourne supporter took us through things to see and do in Alice Springs.

Finally ... if you require a very comfy homely stop over this is the place.

A Good Rest B&B is the perfect place to relax and recharge while you are staying in Alice Springs. The hosts, Margaret and Alf, go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable and feel welcome in their beautiful home.
Breakfast is a treat which is tailor-made for each guest's requirements.
The guest rooms are beautifully presented with a fine attention to detail - with super comfy beds and pillows, gorgeous linen, and soft fluffy towels. We highly recommend this accommodation.

My partner & I plus our much loved Maltese Terrier, Aimee, were ill-prepared for a truly amazing one night stay with excellent hosts Margaret, Alf & gorgeous dogs, T.J. & Molly.

We were very warmly greeted at the front door by Margaret. Within ten minutes Margaret had us seated at the breakfast bar with a 'welcome cuppa'. After ten hours of outback driving, this kind gesture was soooooo appreciated by us.

Talk about being unprepared for what lay ahead. A spacious, immaculately presented, spotlessly clean, pet-friendly villa with everything weary travellers could wish for. Even a washing machine in the villa. Now folks that's service at it's best.

The amazing hospitality, generosity, warmth, friendliness, helpfulness plus kindness from Margaret & Alf was second to none. Breakfast, superbly done by two lovely folk who truly enjoy what they are doing, that is opening up their beautiful home to travellers & their pets.

'A Good Rest BnB' is situated in a quiet location about 3k from the hustle & bustle of the town centre. A glorious garden full of roses, sparkling clean swimming pool, outdoor facilities is in a word, stunning.

We have absolutely no hesitation in praising this magnificent gem of accommodation in Alice Springs. Hey folks as the old NT expression goes ... You'll Never Never Know If You Never, Never Go to ... 'A Good Rest BnB'.

Margaret, Alf, T.J. & Molly, many, many THANK YOU'S.
Stay healthy & happy. See you on the downtrack from Darwin.

Gayle, Roc & the beautiful Miss Aimee.

I arrived in Alice springs late on a Saturday night only to find out that there were no rooms available due to the football being played in town.
I usually do not stay at B&B's but was desperate and contacted the hosts. I explained that I would need to leave by 06:00 the next day they were happy to have me for the night.
I was greeted like an old friend and immediately felt at home. The room and shared bathroom room were so well appointed and the bed was so comfortable.
As I needed to leave early I was so surprised that Margaret insisted that she cook me breakfast before my departure. At 5:30 I sat down to such a lovely cooked breakfast and was on my way by 06:00, well fed and well rested.
I will certainly being staying here on my next trip to Alice Springs.

Margaret and Alf are a lovely couple who have been hosting guests in their B & B for several years. They are very friendly and we loved their hospitality. The breakfasts with several menu options, were cooked to order and delicious.
We stayed in the private villa which offers its own entrance around the side of the house through the back garden and pool area. The villa includes a comfortable queen bed, (plus a single bed which we did not use), fully equipped kitchen, and living room in an open floor plan, plus a private bathroom. We also took advantage of the clothes washing machine and outside clothes lines. (Clothes dry fast in the Australian sun.)
Would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I went from Adelaide to Alice Springs in the Ghan train. We spent seven nights in Alice and we stayed at A Good Rest B&B. We were met at the train station and taken to our accomodation by Margaret. What a wonderful choice of accommodation. Very comfortable bed, a wonderful breakfast and the hospitality of Margaret and Alf was amazing. We were made to feel just so welcome and part of the family. We had our own kitchen, lounge, laundry and ensuite. We could not have asked for more.
Accommodation is so important, it can make or break a great holiday, and in our case totally made it. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

we recently stayed at a Good Rest B&B, but never again, not good value for our money, not very welcoming, and my husband stood in dog piss. we felt the $250 per room was a little expensive. and didn't feel comfortable with the dogs

The Two Stars in Alice are the hosts
Margaret & Alf . Clean, comfortable and
Private are the rooms . The breakfast is
amazing, the hosts are personally getting the breakfast prepared for all the guests and with a smile . Genuine hospitality .
Alf is a wonderful story teller - ask him about his “ Cyclone Tracy “ experience.
They shared their nice bottle of Red wine, fed us and other guests pizzas and most of all we felt like home .
We were also invited to baby sit their residence when they go on holidays.
Margaret & Alf - your blood should be bottled . Great times wonderful memories.

What wonderfully nice people and what a lovely oasis to arrive at especially after a long drive. We stayed out the back in the self contained unit which literally has everything. Shortly after arriving we were given drinks and nibbles which was a really nice touch. I think our 2 little dogs liked it there as well. This will be our place of choice next time we come and will stay more than just the night so we can explore the area more and come back for swim at the end of the day. Margaret and Alf are a wealth of knowledge on the region. Thanks to you both for making us feel so welcome.

A good rest B&B was the best place we stayed on out journey up through the Territory, we booked the self contained unit out the back, it was very clean and comfortable. Margret and Alf had good recommendations for Alice, and were very easy to talk to, it was also great to see our dog Luna enjoying herself and able to relax after a long hot drive. Despite our eagerness to get up really early to get back on the road Margaret and Alf ensured we had breakfast available for our early start. We felt very accommodated for and loved our stay, we will definitely be recommending it!
