Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I stayed at the Belmore Suite for one night and I can't wait to go back. The bed was perfect. Period. The pillows divine - the very best I've ever enjoyed at a hotel. The entire space was spotless and included a small modern kitchen with room to sit at a table, separate toilet with sink, separate room for the shower and sink, and a large bedroom with an old (non-working) fireplace. In the kitchen were two eggs in egg cups, two small jars of muesli, yogurt and fruit. As there is a small hob, my husband hard boiled the eggs for me to take for a snack in the car. He enjoyed the muesli and yogurt.

If one thing could be better, it would be the towels. But I will not complain - I slept well and felt that as a guest I was appreciated. Thank you Houston Wagga! BTW I discovered Wagga means "crow", Wagga Wagga is plural, so it means crows.

A lovely little apartment in a beautiful, old house in an attractive part of Wagga Wagga - what's not to like? The main room was warm and comfortable with a sofa as well as the bed. The little kitchen included a table and chairs, crockery, cutlery and a light breakfast. The toilet was in a separate room from the bathroom and both room have wash-basins. We were able to check in and out without contact with staff. Altogether an excellent experience.

Very happy with our stay at The Houston a boutique hotel in central Wagga Wagga. We had a small bedroom with comfy king bed, with a sitting area. Coffee machine was welcome as was the glorious courtyard. It was peaceful. The breakfast items in the room are just muesli, yoghurt, fruit and some eggs you could cook (no toast). But the nearby Trail Street Cafe offers a lovely breakfast. We will be back.

We were very pleased with our last-minute decision to stay in Wagga and our choice of accommodation. The hotel was well located for cafes and eateries and for a stroll along the river. The room was a little dark but very comfortable and clean with quality furnishings. A light breakfast of fruit/granola/yoghurt was supplied and we had a neat little kitchenette in which to prepare our own snacks or a light meal. After exploring the town we were happy to relax in our room or on the front porch, making use of the good internet or front veranda chairs. Sadly we had to leave early to get across the Victorian border before restrictions tightened. Mark was very helpful & understanding.

We only stayed one night, great to stay in a location with charm and character The room tastefully decorated And the bed so welcoming. Everything is first class from the bedding to the towels. Best night sleep in a long time. It’s the little touches like Netflix being available Great location around the corner from the main centre, and walkable to a range of restaurants

This is a great place to stay. The suites are spacious, comfortable and quiet so no traffic or neighbour noise. Granola, milk and yoghurt is provided along with a selection of tea and coffee. Restaurants are within easy walking distance. We will stay here again when we next return to Wagga.

Chose to stay in a Mini Junior Suite for $189 per night which included a continental breakfast. Good value and friendly owner.. We were lucky to get an off street parking spot as they only have room for about 5 cars. Any overflow must park out on the street.
The mini suite was quite roomy and having the bedroom separate to the lounge area was a plus. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The lovely courtyard gave a relaxing feel to our stay and looked beautiful with the lights on at night.
Suggest booking dinner at a restaurant in Kincaid Street so that you can walk to dinner thus removing the need to move your car if you are lucky enough to have parked in the grounds of the hotel.
The current owners have put together a folder on the history of the Houston which was fascinating to read.

What a lovely retreat/studio. Roomy, full of ambience and comfort. From the the fluffy white towels to the feathered pillows. The room just looked beautiful and inviting. It has a modern bathroom with marbled floors and a very large shower cubicle with modern touches.
Loved our stay!!!!

The property is described as a Luxury Boutique Apartment Hotel including a Continental Breakfast.
The Houston is not a Hotel and the Continental breakfast consists of 2 packets of porridge and 2 small containers of preserved fruit.
The Houston is and old house converted into a few rooms with added bathrooms. No reception and servicing of rooms consists only of a change of bath towels.
Rooms are dark and not well appointed.
Not sure where the good reviews come from. Must be friends of the owner.

Response from The Houston Wagga, Owner at The Houston Wagga
Responded 3 Aug 2020
Thank you Peter for your comments, youre entitled to your own opinion. However I'd like to clarify your misleading and incorrect comments: we provide a "complimentary light continental breakfast" for our guests. Generally guests will contact us for additional or special breakfast requirements. Dark rooms ? not sure how bright youd like your room when all curtains are open, however its often commented how light and bright our hotel suites are. All suites are serviced daily whether a depart or stay. Your suite was serviced daily, although you'd pulled your own bed up our team remade your bed, provided fresh towels, removed the trash, washed up any crockery - this is a typical hotel stay service - we're at a loss what more you'd have wanted - again contacting us would've rectified your angst. Our reception is manned every day and when not, our team are contactable as directed by clear and prominently positioned contact signage - our team are at a loss if you required assistance why a call wasnt made. Given covid19 we, as with most accommodation providers, are practising safe distancing through zero contact checkin/out so as to limit and control the spread. Peter, by no means are we perfect but it is our aim to provide an enjoyable experience for all our guests, and with that I believe the guest reviews speak for themselves. Obviously our property doesnt fulfill your preconceived expectations. As noted above youre entitled your own opinion, as are all our guests with whom write their own reviews after staying with us, guest reviews we appreciate - we wish you well and wont be welcoming you back to The Houston Wagga.
