Authentic old pub, sometimes called the Esh, with a proper Darlo/Cross feel. We were there Saturday just in time for the oyster special. Lovely Sydney rock oysters, very fresh, $1 per oyster (limit of 6 per customer, oyster lovers, so pace yourselves). Excellent beers, some brewed on site and some away. I had the XPA from the pub which was great with the molluscs!!

Stayed five days in January 2023. Staff were very friendly, communicative, and helpful. The room was nice enough, and three shared baths down the hall were available. Water and coffee were provided as well as soap in the showers. Our only complaints are the that is it very noisy due to location and the the pub located below the rooms. The ventilation is poor in the rooms and there is no air conditioning. There is a fan, but effectiveness is very limited. The doors have transom windows which could help if they were operable, but they are not. You can’t get air inside without opening windows, which allows all the pub and traffic noise to enter. Owner really needs to add AC units to the rooms. A lot of noise also comes through the interior spaces. The pub food and beers we sampled were very good!

Aliyah provided fantastic service, there was a good selection of drinks on offer and prices were fair. I visited in December and had a fantastic night out. It was refreshing to have a bartender who was attentive and happy to make recommendations for the menu and the rest of our trip!

Visited with my friends and it was a lovely atmosphere! Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were very attentive and gave good service. We enjoyed the music and cannot fault the experience overall. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

2 night stay in Sydney which we booked at the last minute for New Years eve, this was the only affordable metro location. Not knowing Sydney areas at all I took a punt and was glad as its walking distance to Kings Cross and big parks etc. Great little Italian restaurant across the road. The hotel meals looked very good but we did not eat here as were never back at meal times. Good choice of tap beer. Room was large enough, older furniture in good condition, but no Air Conditioning. Shared bathroom (X3) which were clean. We paid $200+ per night, which was a bit steep for what you got, but, we did book on the 29th of December for NYE and we cannot complain.

Our annual Anzac Day lunch and this year after the March there were 18 of us.
The food is good, the wines are good and the pricing is realistic.
Seafood stands out as fresh and perf3ctly cooked.
The service standards are of very good quality and it’s a pleasure to return here 25 April each year.

Escaped the rain and called here, loved it.
Lots of character, typical Aussie pub. Great beers at good prices.
Excellent place to stop for a beer.
They did have a restaurant which we didn't use, maybe will call back for a meal.
