Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After reading all reviews about this hotel, I really expected something exceptional. Was very disappointed with the actual product. The location of the hotel was very good - central to everything we wanted to do/see in Sydney. Tim at the front desk was great - gave good suggestions about places to eat. However, the room was bad. The tiny bedroom had a queen size bed that took up all the space. Since the bed was all the way to the wall, you had to crawl over it to get on it. The wallpaper in the bedroom was peeling in many places and there was definitely some mold on the ceiling (in the bathroom as well). A/C was making some low-screeching noise that was very unpleasant. Window was extremely dirty - not that there was anything to see there - just a gray wall and some a/c units.

Absolutely awful accommodation. Booked a room for 3 of us and the room was so small you couldn’t even open a suitcase up in it. Marks on the walls, dirt of the floors, urine marks in the showers. Showed all of this to the receptionist who said he couldn’t allow us to switch rooms. Ended up not staying at the hotel after how abysmal the room was. The previous reviews must be fake because I don’t know anyone that would think that was good service or value for money. Ended up paying less up the road at Novotel and much better service and cleanliness.

It was a great stay overall, but the outside is all construction so that didn’t make the appearance outside nice. They’re loads of restaurants around it. Bed was lovely but you could hear everything in the hall ways.

I would never stay at this hotel again. The staff were unhelpful when asked even basic questions, like the cheapest way to get to the airport. We were harassed about paying in cash, and even woken up reminding us to pay in cash. When I mentioned that we were woken up by the front desk, they did not care and were rude about it. The rooms were not well cleaned. We stayed for a week and our sheets were never changed and our beds were never made. They room was also not vacuumed. The only thing they did when cleaning the rooms was emptying the trash and changing the towels if they were on the floor. It was a clean room to begin with. It was also quiet, which is why I chose two stars instead of one. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I would never stay again.

The hotel is well located in central Sydney near Chinatown with surrounding shops. The service was appropriate. The bathroom was modern and appropriate. The room itself was awful. Basically a long narrow passageway with a widening at the end with enough room for a double bed and a couple of small tables. Only one chair. The bed was comfortable but up against the far wall making getting in and out a gymnastic exercise likely to wake my wife. I guess it was at least clean and usable.

For a reasonably priced place in a good location at Darling Harbour this very much fitted the bill. It was nothing super fancy, but was clean and spacious, with our apartment cleaned daily, useful washer and dryer on hand and friendly, helpful staff at reception for any queries. Near Cockle Bay and CBD with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby plus walkable (10-15 mins) to all the main sights. Welcome addition of a tea/coffee machine in the foyer where you could help yourself. Would recommend
