Love this new hotel. Very comfortable bed and great bath. An excellent array of restaurants around Kensington st and we enjoyed Kensington st social. The gym is basic and the pool bar was closed for the colder months and I want to return when it is open. But you could still use the pool and the water was quite warm.
It's funky, edgy and incredibly comfortable. Stayed in a King Clare room which was perfect in all aspects. Beautiful comfy bed, spacious, quiete with top class amenities. The toiletries are all top shelf. The staff were attentive and real whilst not being over the top. The area around the hotel has lots of great restaurants and bars which gives a better feel of what Sydey is about. If your looking for a a place that is typical of one of the "five star" international hotel chains feel, this is not the place and thank god for that! If you stay, take time to look around at all the little details left behind as part of the transformation of this old brewery in to this beautiful hotel. How they managed to design the carpet in the main bar to look like the old stained floor of the…
I was put up at the old Clare hotel in March for a couple of days and it was a fabulous experience! I have stayed at all the premier hotels in Sydney in the last couple of years but this little gem was a standout because of so many factors.... The excellent staff, faultless service, stylishly appointed generous sized rooms, the most comfortable bed, spot on location, great bar and restaurant! Will be making it my regular from now on.
If you want a different Sydney experience without the normal touristy pitfalls visit The Old Clare it's in the heart of everything art food and community. Oh if you do want to do everything touristy central station is few min walk down the road. Alice from reception was a treasure and very informative. I normally find poor quality bathroom amenities in hotels but only the best at The Old Clare, triumph & disaster shampoo & conditioner delightful. The bath tub is a dreamland. Very happy customer.
This was a great, new, stylish hotel right next to Central Station. The hotel was converted from an old bar and concert space, and has a pretty great bar and restaurant inside, as well as a salon. The rooms were spacious and our bed super comfy. The only thing I didn't really care for were the open bathrooms (FYI the shower is clear glass and the toilet room frosted glass), but that's just me and it didn't affect my attitude about our stay one bit. The biggest positive, however, is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
