57 Hotel garners praise for its prime location near Central Station and the ease of exploring city attractions, with the cleanliness and upkeep of the property consistently highlighted by guests. While the cozy and comfortable rooms are appreciated, some visitors have pointed out their compact nature and occasional Wi-Fi issues.
The hotel's ambiance, characterized by its fun and quirky elements such as a disco ball elevator, contributes to a vibrant stay. Additionally, the attentive staff, along with complimentary breakfast and round-the-clock coffee and tea, are frequently commended, despite some comments on the in-room amenities and bathroom design.

This converted office building is very low-key on the outside but a surprise package in many ways. The rooms are a good size (bigger than they appear in pics), really quiet, good wifi and a well-sorted if compact bathroom. Free coffee all day (nespresso) and morning snacks. Staff really approachable and genuine. The rooms a little dark and the windows don't open but that's maybe the only critiicsm. In a city where reasonably priced accomm is hard to find, the central location and quality of this place is worthy of consideration.

Staff were very helpful and kind the hotel is quirky and well located. The other guests were also very friendly and I will definitely be coming to stay here again when I come to Sydney. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a reasonable priced room with lots of extras like, 24 hours access to tea and coffee machine in lobby, great free pastries and fresh fruit every morning etc. thanks to Pierrre for your help

This is by far one of the easiest hotels to get to for any tourist (aside from airport hotels) that I've ever stayed at. It took me 5 minutes to get there with 3 pieces of luggage from Central station up a slightly sloped road (It would have been faster if I were 20 years yours and 20kgs lighter). Greeted with cheery smile at check-in. I booked a King Room (405) and found it very spacious and comfy. Some other guest were not comfortable with the open concept bathroom, not me, having been to more hotels that I can count that have the same concept. Flat screen TV, bar fridge, iron, hair dryer, writing table with chair and the standard amenities were available.
Breakfast - There's a Nespresso machine, small selection of tea bags and bowl of apples (available 24/7). 7am to 10am - muffins, granola bars, little packs of sultanas. Here's where I can't give 5 bubbles, it's not a buffet breakfast. But it is as mentioned in the hotel information page. They do provide a microwave oven to heat up any packed food that have been bought elsewhere. I would have appreciated it more if there was some bread slices with sides of butter and jam/marmalade and a toaster.
Anyway, there are many places nearby to have a good breakfast, lunch, dinner or supper nearby. All within walking distance or a short ride by light rail or bus.
The disco lift was kind of fun, but I would suggest that they have multicoloured lights bouncing off the disco ball and the music is pumped up a tad bit. Had loads of fun riding in it solo and with some other guest at times.
On the whole, the staff were friendly and respectful and I would stay there again when I go to Sydney on holidays next time. I have to, still have some credit on my OPAL Card..

This was an interesting stay. The hotel is lovely, and the staff were more than pleasant. After flight delays, I arrived late and was looking forward to crashing in my room with a cuppa, wash my face, finishing off some work, and watching one of my shows on Netflix to wind down after a stressful day. The first thing I looked for was a glass so I could take my vitamins and have water beside the bed through the night. No Glass! By this time, I was already in my pajamas and thought, I will put on the robe and go downstairs and get some. No Robe. Plan B.. I will make a cup of tea; surely there is a teabag and a teacup in the joint. NO tea or coffee, and no teacup. Luckily, I found an empty water bottle in my hand luggage and filled that. When I went to the bathroom to wash my face, there was NO face cloth, so I had to wet the end of a towel and use that. After brushing my teeth, there was, of course, NO cup to rinse. Turning on the TV and looking forward to streaming my show, I was met with more dismay when I was limited to the local channels and NO streaming. I was not in the mood for the shopping channels, so I had to watch my show on my phone. I would have killed for a coffee upon waking, but of course this was not possible. On check-in, the kind man at reception gave me a late checkout of 11 a.m., but I was out of my room by 10 a.m. as the only place I could make myself a drink was at reception. Having brought this accommodation online at a special discounted rate, I still paid $160 for the night, so as a regular traveler for work, I would not call this budget accommodation. I don't think it is a lot to ask to have a drinking vessel, tea and coffee, and a face cloth included in the room, and to be honest, I am still a little stunned at the fact that these things were not standard. The hotel was nice, the rooms were modern and clean, and the staff were friendly, but would I stay again? Probably not. It may not seem like a lot, but it was very inconvenient, and when there are limitless options available, why lose a regular over a few things that are inexpensive and, in my opinion, STANDARD? It's the little things that count!

Hi Leah, Thank you for your detailed feedback. Firstly, I am pleased to hear that you found our hotel lovely. It is especially heartwarming to read that our exceptional team took great care of you and even offered you a complimentary late check out. I am sorry that you were not able to make the most of it though. Also, I can see that you were complimentarily upgraded by 2 room types. I hope this upgrade added a touch of luxury to your stay. I understand your disappointment with the room settings not meeting your expectations. While we don't provide in-room tea and coffee facilities, our complimentary 24/7 barista-style coffee station and premium tea selection in the lobby aim to cater to diverse preferences. A quick call to our 24/7 reception would have saved you the hassle of a pajama-clad journey for your caffeine fix. I acknowledge your feedback regarding the absence of bathrobes and face cloths. Rest assured, we take such comments seriously and will explore opportunities for improvement. I'm sorry you had to resort to watching your favorite Netflix show on your phone. While not all our rooms have smart TVs, we are actively upgrading them. Additionally, we offer Apple TV boxes and Chromecast devices upon request, again, a brief call to our 24/7 Guest Services could have made your evening a little bit better. I apologize that our in-room amenities fell short of impressing you. On a positive note, I'm pleased you appreciated the privilege of staying in the heart of Sydney at an affordable rate of $160 a night. Your feedback is invaluable, and we'll use it to enhance our guest experience. We hope to welcome you back for an even more enjoyable stay. Warm regards, Max Operations Manager

They've done a good job cramming all the basics into a relatively tiny space without it feeling like you're in a cupboard. It's a decent price for a very convenient location. Make sure to use your own toiletries - the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were terrible.

the bathroom flooded all the time, even when we had the shortest showers. It was up to us to wipe the floor dry after every shower, to prevent water from entering the bedroom and so we weren't sitting in a puddle whilst on the loo. Why do I need to write so much?

57 Hotel is conveniently located a short walk from Central Station. This is a standard tourist class hotel, nothing fancy, but is very clean, comfortable and modern. The "breakfast" offerings are really just snacks and plastic wrapped pastries, but the coffee is good and there is also fresh fruit. The front desk staff were very friendly, efficient and professional. I arrived very early and although my room was not available (not surprising), they stored my luggage in a safe room while I explored the city. When I returned, they had taken my luggage to my room which was kind. Don't expect the Ritz, but if you just want a clean and comfortable room in a good location run by nice people this is a great choice.

A safe clean space, where you can have a cup of tea 24/7 The Hotel is cleverly decorated it is arty and sophisticated. The shower is a rain shower and for me it really doesn't do the job. I missed not having a face washer and access to air from my room.

I arrived on Saturday 1st July and left on Wednesday 5th. I was on my own and my accommodation was paid for by the NSW Teacher's Federation as I was attending Annual Conference at the ICC- Darling Harbour. I didn't have many interactions with staff due to my time schedule but the staff I did speak to were all courteous and helpful. I noticed a sign regarding the use of the airport shuttle bus. Perhaps it should mention how far to book in advance as I was advised I had left it too late to book a seat on the airport shuttle when I inquired at reception the night before my departure. My room was clean and comfortable despite being snug.I must admit it was a bit confronting to see the clear glass of the fixed window plus the walls of the bathroom area. Perhaps frosted glass would have been a better choice as I can imagine sharing that area, even with the use of the curtains, would feel as though your assets were on display. The options for breakfast were not ones I would choose as I am not a fan of prepackaged snack foods. I did eat 2 apples and made use of the hot water via the coffee machine so I could enjoy my own tea bags in my room. I was a bit surprised not to have a jug and toaster in the room to complement the mini bar fridge. The opportunity to read the Sydney Morning Herald in the foyer was appreciated and taken advantage of. The location of the motel was a big plus as it was only a short walk to Central Railway Station and the light rail.Having Woolies Metro in close proximity was also an advantage. I must say I was very impressed with the disco ball in the lift. It added an eccentric touch that no other accommodation venue can boast about. I would have no hesitation in staying at your Hotel if the occasion arose in the future.

Hi Deborah, Thanks for sharing your experience of visiting the big smoke! It sounds like you had a productive time attending the Annual Conference. It's great to hear that the staff you interacted with were courteous and helpful. I am sorry to hear that you missed out on the buss shuttle. The service is operated by a third-party hence we cannot fully control their schedule. We will, however, certainly take your comments on board. As for the the breakfast, we do not have any food & beverage facilities on-site hence we do not offer breakfast at 57 Hotel. The items you are referring to are complimentary morning bites which we have introduced as an additional value to our accommodation. We do, however, have an abundance of great cafes and breakfast places around us. Please contact our 24/7 Guest Services Team on your next return to Sydney and we will provide you with some great recommendations. Overall, we are delighted to read that you had a decent stay! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and we hope to see you back in the future! Warm regards, Max Front Office Manager

Had a very nice experience from booking to check in to check out. Will definitely stay at 57 next trip. Requested a quiet room when booking, they made a note and where food to their promise of giving me a very quiet room. Having access to 24 hour coffee and also not I g pastries was a very nice touch. Thank you for your car-parking enquiry at 57 Hotel. We have an affiliation with a car park option, just a short 5-10 minute walk away from our hotel.
We can offer you parking at $35.00 for 24 hours this comes with multiple exits. Please keep in mind that the car-parking is very popular and may get full at times.
We ask that you proceed to the hotel and complete the check in process before heading to the parking, as we need to generate you a pin that takes 10 minutes to activate.
I hope you find the above information useful and look forward to welcoming you to 57 Hotel. Please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the team if you would like any further information.
The room we had during our stay included a king size bed and a small pullout bed as a suite. We did not need the small bed but it came with the room they had available the morning we arrived. It was nice because we arrived before the typical check in and they could provide us with something right away.
The layout of the room and bathroom is very open and modern. There was no traditional, separate bathroom with a door. But you can obtain privacy with the use of curtains that act as a barrier between the space used for sleeping and the bathroom amenities.
As for views, our view was of the busy street. I’m not sure whether there are any views of the city from any room. We did not pick this place for its view but for the location to the harbor. We were only there for a night.
There are more places to choose from in the Sydney area.
