Oaks Sydney Goldsbrough Suites is often commended for its prime location near Darling Harbour and the helpfulness of its staff. However, opinions vary with guests praising the comfortable beds and cleanliness, while pointing out that the rooms could benefit from modernization and better noise insulation.
While the hotel's atmosphere and amenities receive mixed reviews, some travelers feel it offers reasonable value given its location and room sizes, despite the occasional maintenance and noise concerns.

Stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the 8th floor and overlooking was the main highway .Other reviews complained of the noise , it was not something we noticed despite, the only downside was you couldn’t keep the window open and had to use the Aircon to cool the room at night. We opted for weekly cleaning due to cheaper price , that was best option as if you need extra toilet rolls, coffee etc you would always see cleaner in the morning on the floor so could easily get extras. Having a washing machine and tumble dryer even meant we could wash / dry our towels every day if we wanted. The living area was a good size for two people , the bedroom was slightly small such that one side of the bed was against the wall . Wardrobe space was sufficient. Location was fantastic, 5 mins walk to Darling Harbour via the 2nd floor walkway and car park , of 10 mins walk up to Pyrmont bridge. We have been to Sydney countless times but never stayed in Pyrmont, the local pubs and restaurants are great. Would recommend Gallon on Harris street for great food and quirky style. For craft beer Quarryman’s hotel and for great breakfast Social Brew cafe also on Harris street and within 10 mins walk. Would highly recommend both accommodation and the area.

Excellent location in Darling Harbour, close to L1 and buses. There are bars and supermarkets nearby and it is a central place for getting around. Breathtaking view from the living room, on the lower floor there are two bedrooms with two bathrooms. It is furnished with simplicity, a functional bathroom with personal hygiene set. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and dishwasher, dishes and pans but no condiments. There is also a small laundry room with washing machine, dryer and iron. The swimming pools (one with hydromassage) on the ground floor and a small gym with equipment are available to customers. Excellent value for money. Lots of wasted space and management needs improvement.

I thought there might be a "catch" finding a one bedroom apartment style hotel with a kitchen for this price, in a prime location, and I found out why.
Positive points:
Friendly staff.
Great location in Darling Harbor.
Spacious.
A/c and hot water worked.
Nice having the kitchen and extra space, although I didn't really need it.
Problems:
My second floor room was on a heavily trafficked floor that was loud with people coming and going late into the night. I don't quite understand the design, but the bedroom room had a window facing a patio seating area in the hallway (the living room had windows facing outside), and I had to stuff a bath towel under the front door to help with the noise problem.
I am on the fence about recommending vs. not recommending this place. I'd say it's a decent value for the location and size of the room, but you should have sleep buds or ear plugs to help sleep if you're on the second floor. Personally I'd not stay here again, but I'm a sensitive and light sleeper.

Enjoyed 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with living area on separate floors so the family could spread out. Enjoyed having washer/dryer to do laundry throughout the stay and kitchen to make takeaway dining convenient.

The Suites were very easy to get to via public transport, super close to the waterfront without the high prices.
I loved my room, perfect for 1 person or a couple. I was able to do washing easily. The suites come with a dishwasher, washer and dryer. The pool was always packed but there are walking trails to water really close by.
I would 100% stay here again. Taxi fares to many different areas of Sydney were no more than $20 each way. It was only $24 to catch an uber to the airport.

The hotel has an overpass to reach the nearby conference center and Darling Harbor via the parking lot, which is very convenient. The room facilities are very complete, almost like being in your own house. The kitchen has tableware, a microwave oven, and the bathroom has a washing machine, bathtub, and clothes dryer. Even dish soap and washing powder are provided in small packets. The overall hygiene level is very good. I haven't seen any guests complain about cockroaches on the Internet before. This is a very cost-effective hotel, especially suitable for families who want simple equipment.

Check in was a nightmare, not busy but the staff were so disorganised. We had booked one 1 bedroom and two 2 bedroom apartments but they gave us keys for two one bedrooms & one 2 bedroom as they had overbooked. Mind you, they didn't tell us until we arrived in the single room and went back downstairs to question it. The one bedroom's bedroom is on the internal wall (and subsequent hallway lighting) and, with the curtain missing, was like trying to sleep in the middle of the day as it was so bright. We stayed here 25 years ago and do not believe any maintenance or upgrades have been completed in this time. Missing curtains & towel rails & very shoddy looking. The towels were replaced daily even though they were hung up, and the tea was replaced but not the coffee pods(?). If 4 different people stayed in this apartment over the four days the coffee would be replaced each day but, if you stay for 4 days, no coffee refills (how stupid is that). This place could be the last accommodation in Sydney & cost $1.00 per night and we would not stay here again.

where do i start, we booked the "executive suite" well they were far from that, old dirty furniture, tiny tv, room was old and falling apart, carpet was that old and smelt so bad we couldnt even stay in the room. Minimum facilities in the room, bathrooms dirty with hair on the walls like they used the same cloth from the floor on the walls. Curtain rails hanging off the wall. Looked nothing like the pictures. We got moved to another room for the second night stay, no smell but still minimum facilities in the room and needed a serious upgrade. Shower head was terrible, needed to run around to get wet (up to my chest because it was so low down) Staff were very helpfull and polite so least they care unlike the hotel owners. Location to town was good but highway noise was so loud you cant leave the windows open at night.

Great location out of the hustle and bustle of the city but still close enough. A Coles supermarket is in easy walking distance. We had a two bedroom apartment for our stay that was in good condition and clean and all necessary kitchen items needed in quite a large kitchen. As a two stores apartment, you enter into the living areas, then head downstairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms with the main bathroom including a laundry (washing machine and dryer). Reception was quite slow with not enough staff available. You are charged a credit card fee which was disappointing for such a large chain.

Where do I start. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment for a 9 day stay based on what it looked like on the website. The room we got was not even close. Kitchen was falling apart, phone did not work, TV wouldn't allow us to connect our devices for streaming, TV resolution with free to air was only 576, not even 720 or 1080 yet Full HD TV. No alarm clock in the bedroom or anywhere. The lounge room was devoid of furniture save for the 1 2 seater couch and a small round coffee table. No side table, lamp table or anything other than the TV stand. This place had 4 metre high ceilings and around 7-10 metres of large expanses of bare walls with only 1 picture on 1 wall and 1 on the opposite one (you had to see the room to appreciate what I am saying) There were chunks missing out of the skirting boards, the kitchen had tiles missing from the splash back and the kick boards were missing on half the kitchen and had only bare particle board. The bathroom had damaged walls which were extremely badly patched and the shower rose ( not the outlet from the wall) was at my nose height at full height so I had to kneel down to wash my hair. (I am 178cms tall in case you were wondering.) On arrival there were only 3 teabags and 4 coffee sachets for the entire stay of 9 days as they didn't turn down the bed or replace towels until we asked after 5 days and even then did not replace the itty bitty shampoo bottles or soap, only put out fresh towels and made the bed! There was a Foxtel box, it wouldn't connect only saying that "this service isn't available" and when we rang the front desk to complain, the attendant had poor English skills and couldn't understand my issue and could only offer for "maintenance to check it out tomorrow". They came and were very polite and apologetic but wasted an hour of our time when we had to go and catch a ferry to meet up with friends which we duly missed. The noise through the walls from the next room made it sound like they were in OUR room because the walls were so thin and not sound insulated. When the floor above had a shower the pipes groaned and whistled so loud we couldn't sleep. The balcony is unusable because they are literally 1.5 metres away from the next balcony and the view is a blank brick wall straight in front which is only about 10 metres away and was 3 floors higher than ours. Because of this there was not alot of light at the back of the apartment as there was only the one glass sliding door at the end of the lounge to outside.

Dear verydisappointed2023 Thank you for your recent feedback and I am terribly sorry the stay was not up to your expectation. Your reservation was confirmed on a weekly serviced rate whereby your room will not receive daily housekeeping servicing during your stay. For guests staying 8 nights or more a complimentary weekly service is included in your stay as part of your booking conditions. Reception is 24hrs and extra items including tea/coffee could have always been requested throughout your stay. The developers strongly considered the rich Heritage of the Goldsbrough inspired by its Woolshed History. Agree this is not everyone's cup of tea but will certainly forward your feedback for improvement purposes. Alarm clocks are no longer featured as most guests have their own devises these days. Had you wanted one we could have supplied this to you had we known. TV resolutions have been set to the feed being received from FOXTEL. I will however look into this further to see how this can be improved. The phone has been checked and is working. We are striving on a daily basis to improve the English understanding and speech at the reception Rest assured that your comments have been shared with the team and action will be taken to ensure the issues you experienced are corrected moving forward. We are committed to providing memorable experiences with exceptional service and therefore we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and improve on your experience in the near future. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and for your time in sharing your feedback. Best regards, Tissa Wickramasuriya Hotel Manager

On the second floor as you head over towards the bridge that crosses over towards Darling Harbour.. you will see a small convenience store. Walk out of the apartments, turn right towards bridge and you will see it.
Thank you for your questions.
Servicing frequency depends on the rate selected. We advise you check the inclusions prior to making the reservation. If you are still unsure please do not hesitate to contact reception.
Kind regards,
Goldsbrough Team
