Mostly lived up to others' descriptions. The building dates from 1912, so be prepared for narrow and steep stairs. Our bathroom was modern, clean, with all useful amenities. A bit awkward for parking our car nearby (not on the streets), but room was found. Gives a great feel for what life was like 100 years ago, especially when you step...

Exactly as described. Old original building. Easy walk to Rocks, Circular Quay and City. Perfect for an overnight stay before a cruise. Breakfast was included. Clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff. Recommend for overnight.

I loved it here. Linda and James are so helpful and friendly. My little cottage was awesome. Great location. I would stay here again. Lovely breakfast. It stayed cool in the room despite no sir conditioning in 40 degree plus heat.

It did not in our opinion, in any way live up to the property description and photos on Booking.com nor its own website. The townhouse loft was not in the main house but in an annex behind. It had very poor facilities, inadequate in all respects as a guest room, in fact it looked more like a storage room. Air...

I stayed for 1 night at the Sydney Harbour B&B. The host was very friendly and the location was excellent. I was a bit worried about the closeness of the freeway but it is a well built building and I had the air con on all night (January has been hot) and it was not an issue. It is so...

We'd never heard of this great B&B until recently so we tried it out for an overnight in town. It is very comfy. The room we had needed the windows closed at night to keep out the traffic noise but the air conditioner had a good quiet night setting to ensure a good night's sleep. Being in The Rocks area...

We had a wonderful stay. Prior to our stay, James was most helpful in answering our questions. We appreciated being able to leave our luggage at the B&B both prior to check in and after check out. As a family-run business, James and Linda have ensured the tiniest detail has been thought of. They provided a very welcoming, friendly experience....

Spacious room, great breakfasts, good location, and friendly hosts. We had a minor air conditioning problem - it stopped working - but James got if fixed as soon as he could, which was right away. There aren't very many b & & options in the area and we liked it much better than we would a hotel. Taxis are always...

Although we arrived ahead of check-in time, Linda was most welcoming; friendly and engaging. Nothing seemed too much trouble to help us settle in. The room was clean and comfortable and it was good to have serviceable internet connection. The opportunity to chat with other guests over (the very good) breakfast was a bonus. A minor criticism was that the...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
