I always enjoy staying at Meriton properties. You always know what to expect. The 2Bedroom suites are massive and well appointed. They are split level so if you aren’t used to stairs it takes some adjustment. There is everything you need in regard to stocking up for your stay within a 2 minute walk. It is also close to great public transport links if using busses and trains. I was disappointed however that there was not a gym and pool on the premises. It is apparently located off site…somewhat inconvenient so we didn’t utilise it this stay. There was quite a lot of miscommunication with getting toiletries and cleaning supplies replenished but after a few goes they got it right. All in all a very comfortable stay, as usual the bedding and furniture was super comfortable. Meriton apartments are a home away from home, with room to spread out and really enjoy your stay.

I recently spent a month in one of the 2 bedroom Park Suites at the Waterloo Meriton. The location was great for us as it was a short drive or bus ride to the CBD, and very easy walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies and pretty much whatever you need. The view over Moore Park from our suite was beautiful and the apartment was a great size, comfortable and mostly well appointed. We had excellent service from all Meriton staff during our stay - they could not have been more accommodating when we asked for maintenance support and for additional bathroom and kitchen items. My only criticism is that the apartment was clearly not vacuumed once during our stay and in fact needed a good vacuum upon our arrival. When you book a long stay with Meriton the room is only serviced once a week and for the cost (not cheap even at the discounted long stay rate), we found this to be disappointingly superficial. The other comment I would make is that the balconies on these rooms - given they face Moore Park - also face the Eastern Distributor, so the traffic noise made sitting out on the balcony pretty unpleasant. The bedrooms are really nice and quiet, but if you are planning to spend time outside maybe another room (facing inwards or back further) would be a better option. We certainly enjoyed our park view from inside though.

Hello jennerwalls We truly appreciate the time taken to share your detailed review. It's lovely to hear your one month stay in a 2 bedroom park view suite with Meriton Suites Waterloo was in a great location for all your requirements needed over the month. I'm delighted the team offered excellent service from all staff including maintenance support when required. Excellent customer service is something the entire team strive to provide and they will be very happy to hear this special mention. I'm however sorry to hear of the housekeeping issues experienced, this is not of our high standards and I shall pass this on internally for further review. At Meriton Suites we value our guests feedback, from this is where we can continue to learn and grow, to provide our guests with the best comfort during their stays with us. We thank you once again for the time taken to share and look forward to seeing you in the future. Kind Regards, Amanda S

I stayed in a studio apartment on the seventh floor overlooking Moore Park and unfortunately a major, very busy road. The noise was considerable and spoilt an otherwise good room. While the staff tried to solve the problem, in the end I chose to stay put as it would have meant changing rooms on the second day of a a four night stay. The accommodation was spacious and clean with everything you could need for a holiday including a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and iron. The separate bedroom included a TV and a huge bed which was very comfortable. For the size of the bedroom, the bed was too big as it was difficult to get to the wardrobe. I doubt a large person could access the wardrobe as the space between the bed and the wardrobe was very limited and I had to turn side on to hang up clothes. I would definitely stay here again, but next time I would book a room that did not include the traffic noise

Hello tarla Thank you for the time taken to share your detailed review. At Meriton Suites we pride ourselves on offering guests more space than a traditional hotel room, each oversized suite has a fully equipped kitchen and internal laundry along with modern comfortable furnishings to offer that home away from home feel. We're so happy you enjoyed the additional space and had everything you needed. However, we're sorry you experienced considerable noise from the outside traffic. It's pleasing to hear the team offered you a room move to a quieter suite. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome back to Meriton Suites Waterloo when you're next in Sydney! We chose this hotel based on its location … great for a night out at a FIFA World Cup game at the Sydney Football Stadium. We could walk to the game. There were a few cafes nearby for coffee or brekky. The nearest public transportation is about 20 mins away (light rail at Moore Park). On-site parking was available (fortunately, as you can’t reserve it) and reasonably priced st $25 per day.

The positives:
Our 1 bedroom apartment (on the 4th floor, overlooking the Eastern Distributor) was spacious for 2 of us. The king sized bed was comfy. An extra layer of glass on the bedroom windows blocked out the substantial street noise, which made for a good night’s sleep.

The negatives:
The traffic noise came through the single layer of windows into the living area. The big outdoor balcony was covered and extended the living area, but was really too noisy to use. The apartment smelled of fish, which was noticeable every time we came into the room, but we did get used to it after a while. The shower door didn’t close properly, and a carefully angled shower head was needed to avoid flooding the bathroom floor. The bathroom really needs a good deep clean … mould where the shower joined the floor and the grout on the floors was black (and should be white). Ick.

I booked a one bedroom modern apt for a 6 night stay while my floors were being redone. Despite booking several weeks when I arrived I was "upgraded" to a 2 bedroom apartment as no 1 beds were available. The 2 bed was split level with the second bedroom and main bathroom on the entrance level and the kitchen/living and one bedroom on the lower level with a smaller bathroom. As I was staying alone this didn't really help as I had to walk upstairs to use the main bathroom plus a desk had to be brought in as there was no study nook like in the 1 beds.

The room was being 'cleaned' right up until I checked in just after 3pm on Sunday however the kitchen floor didn't appear to have been mopped and there were crumbs under the dining table, and a used tissue in the bed downstairs so felt it was rushed at best.

Kitchen/crockery supplies were limited and cheap. No tea towel. Microwave was the only new appliance. The tumble dryer had a black substance inside and the door fell of while in use. The washer was an old top loader. The fridge was missing shelving in the door. Net curtains in the upstairs bedroom were missing on the main window. The bedside table lamp upstairs was missing a bulb. There were stains on the bed head rests and sofa cushions. The walls were in need a coat of paint. Generally the apartment presented as worn and average.

The TV was OK and had an HMDI cable for connecting streaming devices. WiFi was an acceptable 20-25 Mbps and worked throughout the apartment.

I was in building D which faces the main road so there was a fair bit of traffic noise. I chose to sleep in the downstairs bedroom facing the courtyard at the rear for this reason, but the sound of air conditioning units and water running down the pipes from adjacent apartments woke me up on several occasions. I had to resort to noise cancelling earbuds to get a decent sleep.

During my stay one of the kitchen lights started flashing and this was replaced quickly. I was also offered a new fridge but given I had already filled the fridge I declined.

Certainly, not the 5 star luxury it's advertised to be. 3 stars would be more fitting. Cheaper than a four star hotel for sure but you get what you pay for.

Booked online. NOT clear that PARKING needed to be booked as well. NO parking on arrival Saturday evening.
Hand sanitiser machine in Reception was empty on Sat Sept 5th. Staff advised. STILL empty on Mon Sept 5th
Door key needed to be activated three times . Staff eventually decided that battery in door lock needed replacing. Was not advised if replaced. Maintenance could prevent this .
Crockery placed in high cupboards making it extremely difficult to use as I am of short stature. Plenty of room in easily accessible cupboard beside kitchen sink and would be safer to access.
No dishwashing detergent to allow for hand-washing if required
Disappointing for a premium location

Regarding customer service, these issues are totally unacceptable and we will be investigating this feedback in order to prevent future reoccurrence. Recently stayed here for 1 night to go to the SCG as it was relatively close only a 20 min walk or quick taxi. Check in was extremely slow, there was a 3rd person at the desk who just observed not sure if it was there first day but they just stood there which I felt was strange. First room I was assigned had a broken balcony door so I requested a new room, 2nd room was non damaged but it was right on the road, I could hear the traffic even though I was 7 floors up. If you have a car ask them which gate you should go in and if you are in building C or D as it can be quite confusing. You can order a taxi through reception but it could take 20mins so you a better off calling an Uber. It would be great if in the room it listed things like shops or restaurants near by, or have some local menus of places that would deliver. It would also be handy to have public transport listed or even a map of what is close and how to get there.

Unfortunately the air conditioning in the bedroom leaked so it couldn’t be used. It was “fixed” but it wasn’t, it kept leaking. The main air con also didn’t work however this did get fixed luckily. Although not having AC in the bedroom on a weekend in Sydney heatwave (30+ *) was not ideal.

Staff were lovely upon checking in & out and stored luggage for a couple of hours so I didn’t have to take it with me into the city to kill time.

The location of this service apartment is very strategic. Supermarket and restaurants are within 3 minutes walking distance. Bus stops are within 10 minutes walking distance. 10-15 minutes drive to the city cbd, 20 minutes drive to Bondi and 20 minutes drive to Sydney Airport.

The hotel is very complicated with maze like structures. If your unit is located above 8th Floor, you have to take another elevator from the main lobby. Signs are pretty limited and at first it will confuse you. The parking lot definitely needs more signs to give clear directions to the guests. It isn’t that difficult to add signs.

The room itself is quite spacious. I stayed at one bedroom apartment. The room looks like they need a touch up. Signs of wear and tear were quite visible. The AC on the living room was kind of malfunctioning. Bathroom looks clean but there were few times the hot water wasn’t working.

Bed is comfy with direct access to balcony. However, the wardrobe is ill-located with only few cm space within the bed and the wardrobe. Safe deposit box is located within the wardrobe.

They provide different pans and cutleries should you wish to cook. They provide washing machine, dryer, iron and iron board as well. WiFi is bad that were constantly disconnected.

My main complain was it was super difficult to connect with guest relation. They simply don’t pick up phone calls from the guests.

Family trip, booked 3 rooms, one Bedroom Type for 3 nights. The three rooms have their problem. 1. The floor is very dirty, got mopping on the day before I left. 2. Rusted washing machine, dirty drum, need self-clean before used. 3. Missing one piece of glass door in the walk-in shower area. This hotel can only be named spacious, but unfortunately, not luxurious! The Housekeeping team and Management team need more attention to the room readiness for the guests. It’s not as good as I stayed before, i.e. before the Covid pandemic.
