I think that this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Even worse than Eastern European hotels in the 1970s. The room we were allocated was not fit for purpose and the whole experience ruined our stay in Sydney. Our booking was for a Double Standard and we arrived at 1020 in the morning. We were told that... More

Excellent service, getting us into a room at 6am ( totally not expected!!) Super clean, central to everything and comfortable for the size of the room. Had a lovely time and would definitely come back and/or recommend to people!

This hotel is very conveniently local to the Central Station and just a block-and-a-half from Chinatown. The staff at the front desk are very helpful! My room is small, efficient and comfortable, but might be a challenge for two people. It is quiet. It would definitely not work for a person using a wheelchair or crutches. The entry to the... More

Booked a room here for a 50th birthday party in the CBD. Arrived by train at Central Station and had an easy walk (via some nice cafes!) to the hotel. I had been warned the entrance was a little tricky and that reception was up a flight of stairs on the first floor. Staff were friendly and welcoming. My room... More

We found this hotel reasonably clean and the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom quite presentable. It was close to eating places and convenient to the light rail from Central Station and to Darling Harbour etc. However, the room was very tiny, and the view out the windows was just rooftops. The room was stuffy and thank goodness for air... More

arrived at hotel from cruise, dismal looking hotel, lift rattles when in use. Couldn't move for suitcases on stairs and landing - no storage for luggage as other hotels. Eventually we were checked in after a few hours. Room absymal, no wardrobe, view of air condition and roof, no room to even move around room. Chipped paintwork, dirty marks on... More

Dear MarkKate2015, We are dissapointed to receive your review and read that from the outset your expectations delivered by your travel agent (whom we believe from feedback from many of the guests off the cruise ship advised our hotel was 4.5 stars). First of all, we do apologise that this was the case as we work hard to ensure that... More

Arrived via the back door with about 16 passengers who had come from a cruise ship. Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
