We had to suffer this hotel for three nights over the new year's eve period. As we paid an exorbitant amount of money, we were expecting a reasonable accommodation in terms of cleanliness, minimum comfort and daily room service. What a surprise to find exactly the opposite. With exception of the reception crew, who were friendly, this has been the...

It's a good option if you just want to sleep, but not in a hostel. In fact, in a hostel you have the commodity to have free wifi, what does not happen in the Ibis Budget. Besides, the hall was stinking and the room had not a good smell as well. I would think twice before booking a room again...

It was a very depressing hotel to stay in. The room was dirty and the windows don't open. The floor was never swept or vacuumed during our 6 day stay. The worst thing was the bathroom where the shower floor tiles were slimy and looked like they had not been cleaned for a long time. When showering, water goes all...

6 of us booked into this place because we could get nothing else in Sydney between 29 Dec-3 Jan . We had come for a friends daughters wedding and also happen to ring in the New Year. The hotel is budget but prices in Sydney at that time are certainly NOT BUDGET. The rooms are clean but sparse. There is...

Super convenient location. Walkable distance to all attraction in the center of Sydney, including new year eve firework! Nice cafes and restaurants around as well. We left Sydney on new year day evening. Taxi ride to domestic airport only cost $30!!! Clean sheets and towel every day. Tidy bathroom. Can't ask for more with this price. Breakfast is fair but...

We stayed there for 4 nights, our room had a brand new tv, a clock, a chair, bed, A/C and en suite bathroom. The bathroom was in good condition, clean except for a couple of old mould stains. The housekeeping service was good, every day the room was cleaned. They have a $9 continental breakfast buffet from 7 to 9...

Friendly check in, also helpful with city travel options, however dirty air conditioner filters, dust piled up behind bed head, and was not impressed to find a dirty used crack/meth pipe next to bed. However staff were very apologetic and dealt with it immediately it still made my stay an unhappy one.

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
