Good location, close to the center and a metro station, access by the main avenue is by stairs, but there is another option by a smaller street, where you access the reception without the need to climb stairs.
The hotel is reasonable, but I really liked the service of the staff who checked in, who got a room with affordability that was very good for my mom who is old.
It was possible to see Sydney Bay and the Harbour Bridge from the window of the room I stayed in on the sixth floor.
The breakfast that is paid apart is extremely simple, with very little variety of products, but can break a branch.
The value of the per day is expensive, like almost everything in Sydney and Australia, but compared to the other options, this hotel has a reasonable cost-benefit, even more if you consider the possibility of paying part of the value with All points.

My room was quite clean and bed very comfortable. Room was small and bathroom very small, but well presented, and functional. Good bedding and air condioner easy to adjust.
The position of the hotel is fairly close to public transport and about 1 kilometer from the central part of Sydney. No traffic noise from my room, but I did experience noise early in the morning from the corridor with Hotel cleaning staff talking quite loudly whilst cleaning or servicing nearby rooms which were probably vacated by early departing guests. The walls are not well soundproofed.
My booking included complimentary breakfast, but when I presented myself in the dining area in the morning at 9 a.m. I was informed that breakfast was only served between 7 am and 9 a.m. and had closed a few moments before I arrived there. I conveyed my disapproval to the Manager as I consider that is far too early for breakfast to terminate, and no mention was made at the time I checked in, but he just apologised and indicated that was hotel policy.
I travel to Sydney quite regularly and have stayed at this hotel previously as an Accor member but will not be returning to the Ibis Sydney East in the future.

Booked this knowing it was a small space…Fairly easy to find and is close to kings cross station. We inquired about leaving our luggage until we returned to check in and even though it was quite early in the morning our room was ready and they allowed us to check in early. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Room was very clean, furnished ok. Bathroom tight but doable. Linens clean, large fluffy towels. WiFi worked well, A/C good, mattress quite comfy, breakfast more than adequate and certainly more than we expected. Good room to eat but at times quite busy so you need to eat in the waiting area. Reception helpful.

There's lots to like about The Ibis.
(Stayed 29MAY-03JUN 2022 room 517)

Patient and helpful Ibis workers made a difference to how I got through those challenging days.

Late night check-in & very early morning checkout easy due to 24 hour reception.

Plain simple consistent $10 optional breakfast offerings suited me as I didn't need to think too hard early morning.

Short walk to everytning I needed: St Vincent's Hospital precincts; medical services; buses & trains; all types of eateries; and an excellent fresh produce mini-mart.

What you see is what you get. Value.

I'll be returning to Sydney soon and I'd stay with Ibis again ... if they'll have me back?

Great view and base to explore Sydney. Lots of ba knackers in this area, very basic but does the job for a couple of nights as I was in Sydney to explore city. After long uk flight we arrived at 8 am in morning and we were so grateful that we could check in so early so we could refresh ourselves, amazing! Most 5 star hotels wouldn't have allowed that! Our room had a view of the opera house which was great. Few tips: get uber from airport and not a taxi as I mistakenly got a taxi and it cost me twice as much as my return taxi to airport from uber. You can walk to the harbour to get on the ferries to manly Island and watsons island views are stunning. Great rooftop bar where u can have food at reasonable price named Glenmore Hotel. Book a table as the views are amazing! Great job ibis hotel!

I was very impressed , especially with the friendliness and kindness of the staff. They were always ready to help. Especial shout out to Menad who was kind enough to offer me a more spacious room that suited my needs perfectly. I even had a far view of harbor bridge, very pretty.

The room was clean and house keeping took care of it every day during my stay. Location was good . I mostly walk to the most touristic spots and I felt safe at all times, even at night.

If I have to come, I’d definitely choose this hotel. You get a good value for money.

I was booked with this hotel for my 2 nights 3 days holiday on 02-04 Dec 2020 at room 503. I was really happy with service and the room, really good for the price. They did charge for breakfast included in booking when I booked online, but I was told by reception this is not available due to COVID guidelines they are following. This is really understandable and happy to get out to other businessess nearby for breakie.

However, my unpleasant experience happened on my 2nd night of stay around 3AM in the morning. There was a random guy who just barged in and invaded my room at f*cking 3AM in the morning. Sorry for the language but who wouldn't be angry anyway if a random stranger just has access card to your room while you are sleeping at 3AM! All I could decipher while I was sleepy and and very angry on suddenly waking up when a stranger flung my door open and walked into my room at f*cking unholy hours of 3AM, is that he had a face mask on, had a luggage, spoke of an indian accent.
I 1st thought he might be planning something evil, coz why would he invade a room at 3AM, so I planned to tackle him to the floor and break his neck or arm if he does something unpleasant after invading me. SO, I gave him a very angry look to his face, while planning to defend myseld at the same time. Then he realised upon seeing how angry I look, that he apologised and walked away.

Later at around 5Am, I told reception about it and a male night staff said that the person who invaded me ealier had a booking for the same room for the same last night of my stay, but for NEXT YEAR!? So, I am still confused as to why he was given a f*cking access card to my room and why he would f*cking be permitted to check in at 3AM!

It would have been handy if their rooms have a secondary deadbolt lock just in case a random stranger invades your room at f*cking unholy hours. I would recommend to anyone to always use a secondary locking mechanism of your hotel room if there is any, if you don't want to experience what I had.

Again, I am supposed to be happy in overall with the hotel's service and room but disappointed and angry about that unpleasant experience on my last night of stay.

Very small room. Our room on a cruise ship is bigger.
No safe
No closet
Two entrances, don’t use the William Street one. Use the Premier Lane unless you like walking up stairs, lots of stairs.
Staff uncooperative when it came to trying to use the washing machine. We ended up not being able to do our washing.
Checkout time is 10:00. A bit early
No face towels or flannels
No phone in room
No international news on tv.
Parking expensive and limited. Best not to have a car here.

Was anything good? Yes.
Great location
Supermarket just up the road
Easy walk to Circular Quay
Easy walk to downtown
Ironing board and iron

Terrible. It was so dirty. The rooms were unsanitary. Not worth the money at all!!!! I do not recommend this hotel. I was looking forward to this location but this hotel lacks good service and standard. I asked for my sheets to be changed and after servicing the room, the dirty sheets were still left on and they simply just made the bed. Bathroom was disgusting. Bed was hard and old.

Firstly, a little bit tricky if you are arriving in your own car, but a quick phone call and all was sorted. The foyer is as you would expect for a Budget Hotel, if you want chandeliers and red carpet stay at another hotel,
The checking in process was smooth, our rooms were fantastic, clean sheets ,clean towels and a superb view of Sydney Harbour from our rooms.
Absolute walking distance to Kings Cross, go down William Street into the City 15 minute comfortable walk, public transport, buses and trains a couple of minutes away from Hotel. OH, and the cafes, restaurants in the side streets are fabulous, we felt very safe walking around Kings Cross late into the evening
I cannot recommend this Hotel as a base for when you are next in Sydney
The staff could not do enough for us, Thank yoU

The hotel has a storage room for luggage and the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even printing off flight boarding passes for us. I wouldn’t like to say if they’d let you store luggage if you aren’t there that night so if I were you I’d email the reception and ask. If our experience is anything to go by they will try their best to help.
