If you are looking for somewhere basic to rest your head this Ibis will work well for you. It is in a good location, with a short (but hilly) walk to Kings Cross train station. There are small shops nearby for basic food/drink. With nicer bars and restaurants towards Kings Cross. Our room was very small (but all we needed....

We last stayed here when it was still a Formula 1 and it needed a make over. It is now rebranded as Ibis and is excellent. Our room had a "loft" feel to it, was comfortable and spacious. The staff are beyond helpful. The location is a short walk to vibey Darlinghurst full of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Loved it.

I needed a place to freshen up after a red eye flight before my meeting in the morning. This serves the purpose in a convenient location. Rooms are clean with a decent shower. It was however not well design if you need to get some work done.

We booked a room at this property via Hotwire for a 5-night stay in Sydney in early May. We were quite happy with the hotel and we think we got very adequate value for money. If we were passing through Sydney again we’d certainly try to stay at the Ibis if we could get the same rates. The hotel is...

The hotel is just off the main Kings Cross intersection and an easy 5 minute walk to all that Kings Cross and Potts Point offer. Our room was on the 6th floor facing the street and had great views of the city. The room was quite small but very clean. It contained a queen bed, a small side table and...

Room small but very clean. Bathroom tiny and all floor got wet when showering but this was not a great problem. Indian ownership and most staff Indian. Inconsistency of service with some staff very good and some just couldn't careless. Breakfast deal 2 for 1 and small area of basic buffet format was surprisingly good. Good coffee made by service...

Dear Michael S, Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate positive as well as negative feedback and this gives us the opportunity to make our service even better. Just to rectify one of your points the hotel does not run under Indian ownership and no Indian Staff is working. We have a few Sri Lankan staff working plus other nationalities....

This Ibis Budget hotel is the second one I've stayed at in Sydney and while the local at King's Cross is good for restaurant and shopping options it's not a nice area. I stayed at the Ibis Budget in St. Peters which was terrible. This one was clean and safe. The rooms are tiny and the washroom is so small...

Budget room for 3, v small but we were only sleeping there so didn't really care about size. Free wifi everywhere in hotel with fast connection and no noise at all from busy highway outside. Supermarket, Kings Cross station and restaurants within 5 min walk. Would recommend if you're not too bothered about size of room!

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
