Great stay! There are so many things to like and love about this hotel despite the chaos we experienced on our way to find its location. It’s 15-20 min walk from the Wynyard Station, quite hilly, but definitely doable and fairly easy to locate as it’s near the junction.

Check in was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and helpful to quickly brief us about the room and property. The hotel has a lift and wide stairs, certainly suitable for families travelling with kids, elderly parents, etc.

Our room was located at the second floor; bed is comfy, room is tidy and clean, has a nice size for morning stretches or performing prayers for Muslims. The room comes with towels, hangers, shampoos, and body washes.

Our floor has a lounge to watch TV, there are also iron and iron board. The kitchen is very interesting, there are microwave, stove, fridge, kettle, basic cooking utensils, and free stuffs (coffee, tea, sugar, jam, fruits, etc.) The bathrooms and showers are fine, there’s hot water. We are also very thankful for the free washers and dryers.

Location wise, it’s perfect for sightseeing if you’re planning to go to The Rocks, Circular Quay area, CBD, Townhall area, etc.; everything is within 1-2km walking. If you need food, Coles, 7-11, marts, cafes are all just within few minutes walk, so definitely perfect for travelers and backpackers.

Family matters took me to Sydney, stayed a couple days on own, booked for family next visit. Lovely reception, simple decor, absolutely spotless, room, common living, bathrooms etc. Free coffee tea mueseli, toast spreads fruit. Nice fellow guests, not a party place. Location terrific, lots of pubs and shops. Not at all fancy, but great value.

Excellent location. I stayed for New Year Eve as my Circular quay NYE evening cruise left from Kings Wharf, which was 5 minute walk away. The hostel was very quiet and I notice that they even had a few free foods provided by the hostel. My double room had towels and tube of shampoo etc… there was a very good fan, table and chair. The bathroom was simple but clean. I was very happy. Lovely Air-Con in common area’s including reception.

I booked this on booking.com and the room was advertised as having air conditioning. All it had, however, was a desk fan. This was not expected and was below my expectation. This room cost over AUD 400 for 2 nights and we were not expecting a fan for air conditioning.

Came here with mates, and made a mistake with booking, canceled one room, and then ended up getting charged for it. Spoke to booking.com about it said shouldn’t be charged. but still got charged for it, spoke to the front desk and response was that because it was canceled to late, nothing can be done, not happy that we needed up getting charged another room that we don’t need. No help from booking.com about this issue

wouldn’t recommend to anyone

We have stayed here several times now, whenever we now visit Sydney. It is the best value for money in all of Sydney. As a couple we opt for a shared room which is still incredibly cheaper than anywhere else for any kind of privacy, you just have to share a bathroom. It is also very central and easy ot navigate anywhere from. Public transport very near, within walking distance.

We stayed here for two nights recently and the bed linen was filthy . Our double doona that was meant to cover us on a queen bed was firstly too small and in no doona cover had brown stains on it resembling human fescues . It was disgusting 🤮

I went to Siesta Inn Sydney to spend my last 10 days in the city after living in Sydney for 6 months. In the first seven days I was a little annoyed with the bathroom light that turned off after some minutes therefore sometimes I had to finish my shower in the dark. I also didn't like the fact that the kitchen facilities such as stove and oven didn't work very well. The internet hardly ever had signal. However, I didn't think those things were a huge problem considering the price I was paying.

The real problem was when I discovered that my mattress was full of bed bugs. There were bug bites all over my body, I spent a entire night with my body inching and I also could see lots of blood spots on my sheets. I tried to get in contact with the staff in the number they provide us for late ours when the reception is not working and I could not reach them. When I was trying to sleep, I actually saw one bug, then other, then a third one. The result was that I couldn't sleep a minute that night and I am still taking medicines and with red spots all over my body.

In the next day I went to the reception with the dirty sheets and the bugs I could capture. I showed them my arms, hands and neck all bitten and asked to leave the hotel, because I couldn't stand another night like the previous one. In a few words, the guys apologised for what had happened and refunded me just for the three days that I would not spend there. They weren't rude, but also were not really attentive. They didn't offer me any compensation, didn't even bother going to the room to see what was going on with the mattress and, which is worse, they didn't try to relocate the other girl that was sharing the room with me and was certainly in risk to have the same problems as I had.

This was the most disappointing and inconvenient situation I have ever been trough in my life. I had to wash and boil all my clothes when I arrived home to kill any possible bug that could be in my stuff. I am still taking medicines and passing cream in my body.

For all these reasons I would never recommend Siesta Inn Sydney to anybody.
