Stayed for 3 weeks in a pre-booking. Regretted that! Hostel has rules posted everywhere on signs about being quiet after 10pm, however dont expect to get to sleep before 2am. Staff dont care, one admitting that they let other guests make noise in the courtyard until late, with a shrug. Night staff are just long termers who do not care...

I arrived in Australia and Kanga was my first hostel. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the free wifi is really good. Plus a free BBQ every week and they organise beach days out etc which is really nice and a good way to meet everyone. The receptionists are really friendly and helpful too. However, I have never experienced such...

Most of the people who are staying there are on a working holiday. I think this created the strickt rules about drinking, using the kitchen and the terras. There was absolutely no fun atmosphere. The building is literally falling apart. Very poor hygiene in the showers and toilets.

We spent an awesome summer and autumn time in Sydney at Kanga house. It was for us the best hostel in Sydney. We strongly recommend this hostel to our friends. The hostel offers many common facilities which were much appreciated: -clean kitchen with an oven (great advantage for people like me who like cooking or just grill food) -spacious hot...

The staff here were very friendly, the wifi is very good and the beds are comfortable, however, that's where the positives end. Cleanliness is minimal with dirty walls and carpets that need hoovering. The rooms are cramped and stuffy and there's minimal space for bags meaning the floor is covered in people's belongings (including dirty underwear). The bathrooms are small...

I stayed here in 2011. I stayed in a private room initially and from what I remember it didn't have a fan so was very hot. I did like that the room had a TV and was close to the bathrooms though. Then I moved to a double room which was really nice and at the front of the house....

Hi Liz, I am very happy that you loved the hostel- GREAT NEWS! As you are probably aware , staff have changed a lot since 2011. Actually I would have to say the staff is one of our strengths. We are more than happy to help you with a lot of things when you arrive in the country.( e.g bank...

“It depends on the time you go there. In summer it's nice to have a room in the basement, in winter I'd prefer one upstairs. I would't recommend the rooms with the windows towards the street because it can be noisy at night.”
