They take photocopies of your credit card for the deposit. This is a very unsafe practice. They should be using EFTPOS pre authorisation. To keep a photocopy of someone’s credit card in the hotel filling system is a huge risk. When I mentioned about this staff didn’t seem to care, they said this is how we do it. They really need to update/change these old ways of doing things.

We stayed here on a Saturday night recently when we went to see a show so we didn’t have to worry about driving home. We booked because the location was good, the price was right and there was free parking (though it is very limited and very tight, so we planned ahead to make sure we would have a good chance of getting a spot). It’s a bit dated, but comfortable and they have lovely, helpful and cheerful staff. We stayed in a room that looked out over the courtyard / pool area which meant that it was both quiet and nice to wake up to in the morning! We crossed the road and had breakfast at the Ampersand Cafe / Bookshop which was a lovely way to end the weekend.

We stayed here only as a place to crash after my 30th but was so impressed with the service, cleanliness and staff. I had a lovely time and a very nice sleep which definitely improved the hangover. Definitely recommend!
