We booked this is a last minute night away so unsure what to expect. Small clean tidy rooms. Not very modern, small clean bathroom, shower was good. Thick curtains kept light out. No air conditioning but had a fan. We were at the back so it was quiet although there was a noisy bar across the road so I wouldn't...

Came across my information on Alishan Guest House from yrs back. It is one of my BEST memories-one of the VERY BEST places to stay if in that area.My room-mate and I even chose to make another vacation by taking the Japanese room for one night. You see, this house has different kinds of rooms. My last night-when I had...

The hosts at Alishan International Guest House are friendly, eager to please and accommodate your wishes. I required the room to be quiet as I was preparing for an employment interview. The room was quiet, had a usable desk and the lighting was good. The room was small, but adequate. The bathroom was on the tight side. The room did...

Whilst the rooms are slightly dated, this hotel was very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. It represents very good value for money in a great location close to the city. It is adjacent to a convenience store, bottle shop, bars, cafés and restaurants. Highly recommended.

We booked the guest house as we only stayed 1 night before we departed for a cruise. No other accomodation was available for 10 of us to all stay together. We were greeted by a friendly staff member on arrival, Showed us our rooms. They were not what I asked for in my initial booking. We had requested 3 rooms...

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay at Alishan. You made your booking for two rooms back in August last year. At that time there were plenty of rooms available and it was explained by e-mail to you all the options that could be booked. February is usually the hottest month of the year in Sydney and you happened to...

We stayed in one of the shared-bath rooms and felt like we were in a hostel. The room had 2 bunk beds, luckily one of the bottom bunks was a double but still, did not enjoy sleeping under a bunk. The balcony off our room, although also not private, was lovely. The room was clean but smelled stale/musty. There was...

The place smell of old carpet and you could also smell the musky dust in the air. Was very disappointed in the rooms I've book for my family and myself. We were given 3 separate rooms each on different floors and area of the house. The pantry, common area, backyard and side garden for outdoor seating was decent though. I...

A large hotel, many family rooms. Could do with updating, but clean and comfortable. On a main road, bus route, busy although quiet. Good kitchen facilities and helpful staff. Laundry facilities are available.

This was booked for us by someone else so had no idea what we were getting. But pleasantly surprised. Clean - good kitchen facilities - helpful staff (and usually very available). Linen was of good quality. There weren't as many cafes open for brunch on the weekend as i'd hoped but we managed

Staying in Glebe

Neighbourhood Profile
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
