The location was convenient as the train station and supermarket were close by. It was near the sights and it was pretty close to Chinatown if I'm not mistaken. The bathroom and bedroom were relatively clean and basic, but very small. It wasn't really a problem for me as I hardly stayed in my room. It had an old and...

The Castlereagh Boutique hotel is an eclectic hotel. The decor is from years ago and being such adds to the ambiance. The breakfast room was elegant and a la carte menus had lots to offer. The rooms are not large but well laid out, clean and comfortable. I would have given an excellent review but there was a very faint sewage...

Let me start by saying the rooms are quite small, when compared to other Australian hotels. However, if you have travelled to countries where the hotel rooms are standardly small (i.e. Japan), then you will be fine. There is still enough room for your luggage to be laid out nicely, and there was also a small table and chairs to...

Stayed here with my husband for a long weekend. Was a great location with easy few blocks walk from the airport train. Only 2 blocks from David jones and the other big shopping areas. Room was small but bed was comfy and all we needed as we were out most of the time. Friendly and helpful reception staff.

The hotel is in a nice location, and affordable. I think if you're traveling by yourself, it's totally worth it. The room was definitely very tight/small for two people. And, I think perhaps the word "boutique" is thrown around to say "old"...there's old cute and then there's old old. My room had a tall window, but it was completely frosted...

Unfortunately the room we stayed in was very small for 2 people & basically (unworkable). The bathroom vanity was in need of repair & shower tap fell off every time it was used. In my opinion I think the price we paid was more than what it was worth. The disappointing thing is that the Hotel does not advertise the...

Well placed right in the middle of the city, we chose to stay here after a day at the Rocks, the Quay and the Opera House. Easy walk - leave the car at home. The staff were efficient & friendly - smooth check-in/checkout. The building & décor are a bit "old world", but that's part of the charm of this...

Enjoyed a big breakfast in this stunning heritage establishment. The decor of the building was a standout, the chandeliers hung high creating an opulent feeling. The food was delicious and cooked to order. The service was 5 star and very welcoming considering I was under dressed for the occasion. I will happily return on my next visit to Sydney.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
