Another week of staying in Sydney hotels, it was the Westin hotel for a return stay after a 3 year absence. I got a very good prepaid rate via the SPG website for a Heritage room in the old post office building. On check-in I was given a Martin Place facing room but opted for a quieter atrium facing room....

Decent hotel in downtown Sydney, right on the main shopping street (Pitt St). Rooms are clean and look like any other Westin everywhere. Nothing much to complain about, what you'd expect from a Westin in a major city.

I like to have weekends away with my husband, close enough to the teens to get home in a hurry but hidden away in luxury, surrounded by the best shopping and restaurants Sydney has to offer. We have stayed so many times I've lost track, in fact sadly my last visit for our wedding anniversary ended in tragedy with my...

I had a fantastic stay at the Westin Sydney in July 2014. The location of the hotel was the main appeal. It was in the centre of Sydney with public transport close and most places in Sydney CBD being within walking distance. The room was large and very well appointed and the bathroom/shower was great. No issues with check in/out...

I regularly use this hotel for work trips to Sydney. I find that it's location on Martin Place means that virtually all my clients are within walking distance from the hotel. Even though I am Starwood Gold it is rare to get an upgrade to a club room, but access to the lounge is not that important because I am...

If you want to get burnt by scolding hot water after you have set the shower and all seems well then try room 307. The shower cycles from normal to burning hot to cold and back again. When you are on a short time line and off to the opera you have a cold shower. We complained and were moved...

This is a truly wonderful place to stay in Sydney. It is right in the centre of the CBD and close to everything. The combination of the old architecture of the former General Post Office and the crisp modern hotel building gives the Westin Sydney a special charm. We love it. The staff are great from the moment you get...

We have stayed in many hotels but there was something special about the Westin. Lovely ambience and wonderful staff. The breakfast buffet was tasty with numerous choices. Our room was very comfortable, super king bed, bath and shower.

It's not a romantic hotel. It's big, luxurious, everything works and the service is consistently good. It's the place to stay when you really need a good night's sleep (and a calm place to work). Even the gym's superb. No complaints. No suggested improvements. This one is the real deal.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
