The Sydney Boulevard Hotel is often celebrated for its warm, family-like atmosphere and historic charm. Guests have called out the spacious and clean rooms, which offer comfortable bedding and impressive views. Its central location garners high praise for its proximity to attractions and public transport. While the hotel offers friendly service and a range of praised amenities, including a delightful breakfast buffet, some guests note the decor can feel dated and have mentioned occasional inconsistencies in housekeeping. Overall, the hotel is considered to provide good value for the money.

Lovely helpful staff, fresh well ventilated room, good hot breakfast. Location is great - top restaurant across the road with more a few blocks away at Stanley St. 10 minutes walk to museum station or the art gallery, less than half an hour walk to the opera house through the botanic gardens.

Touches of history have been kept such as art deco mirror and silver dining room giant teapot. The view was pretty. Remember to ask for fresh towels when needed, rooms are usually serviced every three days.

The Sydney Boulevard Hotel was the perfect place to stay for our trip to Sydney. Our room was clean and comfortable and spacious. The hotel is conveniently located near several public transport stations and an easy walk into the centre of the city. It's also just on the edge of the Darlinghurst neighbourhood, where there loads of great places to go for dinner. We splurged on the Harbour View room and it was so worth it - we had a fantastic view of the opera house, the botanic garden and the bridge! The staff on reception were so helpful with any questions we had, which we really appreciated.

I like to do my research and read all the reviews before staying somewhere, so I was already prepared for what others have labelled the “negatives”. Sure, some of the decor is a little tired and dated, but I wasn’t here to stay in my room and stare at the walls. I only slept here. The hotel was clean, the bed was comfy, and the curtains blocked out the light well.

Yeah, the room cleaning isn’t daily, but all you need to do is push a button on the phone for new towels or toiletries or whatever. I also don’t trash my room, so it wasn’t an issue!

The staff were all polite and friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent - there’s a Woolworths metro around the corner for anything you may need, heaps of shopping and dining and tourism in walking distance.

Overall, I’d definitely stay here again in future visits!

I stayed at Sydney Boulevard Hotel for 6 nights. The hotel stay as such was good. No problems as such. Check in process was smooth, though they didn't allow check in till the actual time of check in, despite rooms being available.

Rooms were clean, tidy with all basic amenities. Rooms upto 10th floor are in standard category and from 10th to 24th floor in deluxe category, whicb give a better view of city. I stayed at 17th floor and view from the room is attached. Rooms on other side also offer harbour view.
Though, hotel is at walking distance from main CBD area, metro/train stations, it is at least 15 mins walk to the nearest stations and the park street area. So, it feels little far to do it everyday over a long period and causes unnecessary tiredness. If any other hotel in the main area is chosen, the hustle can be saved.
Another downside of the hotel is that there is no swimming pool, which can be helpful sometimes to make one feel fresh after the tiredness of the day.
The staff was prompt in service and helpful.

Also, on the last day of check out, though we planned to roam the city after check out, my friend fell it and we felt it would be better if we stayed at hotel for little longer. However, hotel was not very supportive with its check out policy, despite we already having stayed there for 6 nights and asking for late check out due to health reasons. They asked for 50 AUD per hour from 12-3PM and full day charge post 3 PM. Though, luckily we didn't utilitise it, however, they could be little more helpful in their policies especially when the hotel was at very less capacity and we had already stayed there for 6 nights.
Would recommend to stay at other options near cbd, if they are at same price and if if this one is little cheaper, then it is also not a bad choice.

I stay in hotels 40-50 nights a year, and this was the best in recent memory. The location is terrific, with many major attractions and restaurants/pubs within walking distance. Public transport is fairly close, and a supermarket is literally just around the corner. My room was excellent, with a comfy bed, nice furniture, and impeccable housekeeping. I recommend getting a room on a high floor with a view of the Harbor Bridge, Opera House, and more. The vista is actually inspiring. While booking, select a package that includes breakfast. It is very much worth the extra cost (you can purchase it separately each day at 42AUD per person). The breakfast buffet is wonderful in terms of size, quality, and variety. The dining room staff is very attentive and friendly. Actually, the entire hotel staff is great. I reported that my TV remote had failed, and a new one was delivered in 5 minutes. I rented a car for a few days during my stay, and was pleasantly surprised at the low fee to park on-site. Really, all the rates for this hotel are a bargain for this quality level. If I am fortunate enough to return to Sydney, I will unquestionably stay at The Sydney Boulevard Hotel.

While no longer a tier 1, 5 star hotel the location and views from harbour side rooms are spectacular. The rooms are spacious and clean with reasonable furnishings although a better quality shower head would of been appreciated. Some of the common areas are a little tired, but given the price point it is understandable. Every staff member we encountered was welcoming and helpful. The lack of bar restaurant facilities on site is not really an issue with plenty of options within walking distance. Reasonable breakfast offering although a little pricey. If I was planning to stay in Sydney again I would certainly book at the Boulevard again for the value and the view.

The Sydney Boulevard Hotel is a real find. It is close enough to the City and the lovely suburb of Surrey Hills and with transport options within walking distance you can get anywhere you need to. Public transport is cheap and Ubers were too.

We stayed in a King room on Level 3 and it was very clean, bed was really comfortable and our view was good looking towards the Harbour Bridge.

We had the free breakfast included and this was great with lovely friendly staff to greet us each morning and knowing who we were very quickly.

The cost of the hotel is good (we stayed over a concert weekend so prices were higher but expected) but the Monday night rate was really reasonable.

Only negative would be that the hotel is a little dated and could do with a paint on each floor in the hallways but this didn't affect our stay.

Highly recommend.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights the week before new year and had a great experience even thought we were informed on arrival that due to staff shortages the rooms would only be cleaned every 3 days. We liked the location so we rebooked for our return to sydney after a week away but the second time our room obviously didn't get cleaned at all as we only were there 3 days. however when our flight was cancelled and delayed us for 10 hours, we asked to extend our check out time for 5 hours (ahead of a 33 hr journey we needed some rest). The hotel reception lady was very adamant we could only do that at cost of 30 AUD per hour. We paid (reluctantly) 120 AUD for 4 extra hours in a room that hadn't been cleaned or had towels replaced for 4 days which was a bit of a put off. Given the hotel was very quiet in this period (only 4 people at breakfast) we thought it was a bit short-sighted of the team to not show any flexibility or empathy with our situation

Rooms are Good Size and comfortable. Breakfast is not bad if it is a part of the package ( infact is excellent) but not worth if one has to pay $38. I liked the breakfast as had decent choice even for vegeterian. Location is good (central) as everything was 15 to 20 minutes walk. Now the minuses - No room service but as location is good was not an issue and another issue is they do not clean the room daily but every three days (not a surprise as was mentioned when booking and mentioned on their website but some people may have problem with arrangement) , which too was fine (though not advisable) as they said that were ready to help and provide towels, shampoo........when required. Lastly, the hotel is not at all flexible with early check in and do not give room before 3pm ( cannot prove as they will say that are running full/ maximum capacity and maybe they are but have doubts) though did offer check out till 1pm.

Would I recommend - yes I will as happy and found value for money.

Dear Gvipin, Thank you for your review of your most recent stay with us at The Boulevard. We are pleased to learn you enjoyed your time with us and appreciated the selection at our daily breakfast. The location of our property is certainly one of our main attractions. Although we do not provide room service, we are always happy to provide you with the best spots to head off to for any meal; this is one of the best aspects of Sydney and we have found that most of our guests prefer to go out rather than stay in their rooms. Although we do not provide daily cleaning, we are more than happy to arrange this for you upon request, or provide you with anything required any time. This is a step we have taken towards building a more sustainable brand, and to limit the usage of single-use plastics. The hotel is flexible with early check ins, when there are rooms available. As mentioned at the time of your check in, the week was at high occupancy, thus the wait for your room to be available. We do try to ensure our guests are provided with their keys as soon as possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly if you would like to share further thoughts on your stay. We look forward to seeing you again next time you travel to Sydney. Best regards, Jayani Wijeratne Assistant Operations Manager- Front Office

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with family and booked two city-view rooms, and our experience was absolutely exceptional. Every single staff member we interacted with—from the front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant team—was friendly, approachable, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Every request we had was met promptly and with a smile.

The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, especially impressive for an older hotel. The beds and pillows were so comfortable, ensuring restful sleep every night. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay—of a high standard and thoroughly enjoyable, particularly since it was complimentary each morning with a hotel membership.

The hotel’s location is fantastic—easily accessible and close to everywhere we needed to be. It made getting around Sydney so convenient.

We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city. It’s now our go-to accommodation whenever we return to Sydney.
