Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location just a couple of minutes walk from Circular Quay. Rooms were clean with adequate facilities although they were a bit dated they were made to look much older by the horrendous carpets that look like they’re from the turn of the century (the 19th)!

Hotel's Favourite
Our usual hotel was closed for renovations however The Rendezvous was more then adequate. Great location and a clean and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It was cheaper then our usual hotel too which was a bonus. There is a parking station underneath for validated parking (Wilson Parking) however we were unable to use it due to many reserved spots and the rest of the carpark being full - you cannot book parking through the hotel either so we missed out and paid a small fortune for parking further down the road :( Apart from the parking everything else was great!!!!

The location was amazing and the staff lovely. The rooms although good in size are very tired and in need of a lot maintenance and upgrading considering the price per night. The bed was very comfortable.

We stayed in one of the historic Terraces. The location was fantastic as we were joining a cruise ship in Circular Quay. Lots of bars and restaurants very close by and easy to get to by train from the airport. The bed was very clean and comfortable however the air conditioning unit in the bedroom was very noisy. The kitchen was in desperate need of an upgrade, doors wouldn't close, shelving falling apart etc. Would probably stay again because of the location.

Perfect place to stay if cruising. A short walk all down hill with your luggage to the cruise terminal. Large rooms with everything you could want. Many restaurants within walking distance and Circular Quay with the ferries is great for exploring the city.

A big room with a large balcony overlooking the bridge etc. We loved the location as it was so near everywhere. Great pubs nearby, Circular Quay nearby. The cafe down the road that was recommended for breakfast was brilliant…..we went there every morning. Clean towels and bedding changed most days….we refused to have them changed everyday. We didn’t get woken up at night and we were at the front of the hotel. Probably needs a bit of modernisation re carpets and curtains but it was clean and we would stay here again. All staff were pleasant and helpful.

Really really disappointed with this hotel. It's a great location and the room came with a view but from 9 pm until about 3 am there was construction in the street outside conducted by the city. There is no possible way that this level of work would have been done without notifying businesses in the area but the hotel provided no warning when booking or when checking in. This was not minor works, jackhammers and heavy equipment, I was completely unable to sleep. I called the reception and got no information or even basic courtesy. In the end I had to get information from the city, I had make a noise complaint. The work stopped not long after, can't be sure if it was because of the complaint. When I checked out the guy at the front desk didn't even ask how my stay was. Perhaps he knew it had been bad. It takes nothing to acknowledge a bad situation but that seemed too much to ask. This seems like basic customer service.

Air-conditioner vents were clogged with dirt and grime, absolute disgrace and the air-conditioner was barely functioning. Carpets filthy and worn out, curtains hanging down from the rails and cabling hanging down the walls. The only comment I will make on the 1960 bathroom or so called ensuite is mould, mould, mould! The kitchenette was an absolute disgrace. No wonder they had to self rate, though heavens only knows how they came up with 4 stars self rated, I’ve stayed in backpacker accommodation better than this! We paid $250 for a night in what I would only regard as a flea pit. We won’t be back and we won’t recommend.

I thought this hotel was very near all the major sites in Sydney, close to circular quay where all the ferries went from close to Sydney Opera House and the Bridge. The restaurant's were near and the food was very good. The market is a short walk away so everything is close-by. The hotel is small but the rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable ideal place to book.
