An elegant hotel with old world charm. Classical music in the dining areas and lounges contribute to a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Visually stunning with beautiful paintings. Fantastic city position. Wouldn't stay anywhere else on a visit to Sydney. Staff are always helpful. Excellent service.

Very pretty hotel with nicely appointed rooms. The la occitane toiletries were much appreciated. The location is perfect to ride the train, ferries or walk to the opera house, the Rocks area and circular quay. We visited the Hunter Valley for a couple of days during our visit and the concierge was so kind to let us leave a suitcase...

Traditional decor but perfectly maintained. Lovely location to walk to Circular Quay as well as the shopping district and being an older style hotel the room was enormous as was the marble bathroom. I always love a good bath in a hotel and this one was no exception.

My wife and I (seniors) were given a voucher for Dinner at the Sir Stamford Hotel in Sydney. We arrived early so took advantage of having a pre-dinner drink or two in "The Bar". At the appropriate time we headed off to "The Dining Room" where we were politely greeted by the staff and promptly shown to our table. Once...

An lovely hotel in a great position near the Opera House. Pleasant helpful staff. The hotel is quiet and has a lovely restful unhurried feel. My second visit was as good as my first. When in Sydney I will always stay at the Sir Stanford.

Wonderful classic hotel with old world charm. Cannot beat the location: close to the opera house, botanic gardens, circular quay, and the Rocks. Outstanding service throughout. Excellent way to finish off a 9 week trip down under.

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
