The staff are super helpful whether that’s on the phone to make the booking or at the front desk for checkin / checkout.
We have stayed here for two weekends in the past month. The first time we had two queen sized beds in the room, this time it was a King split in two as twin singles. The benefit that brings is space for a sofa and a table.
We Roughly measured out the rooms at 4m x 10m, the bathroom has a large shower (no bath to climb over). The beds are very comfortable and there is a safe in the wardrobe. The kitchen area has a fridge, microwave and a two pot electric hotplate. The room is quiet courtesy of double windows, not just double glazing I.e to get out onto the small balcony you open two sliding doors. So outdoor noise is almost imperceptible, you will hear the quiet shoosh of the elevator as it goes up and down.
The location is excellent with so many dining options in the immediate vicinity, it’s an easy walk to the Sydney International Convention Centre, the Darling Harbour precinct, Chinatown and QVB / Town Hall with train station and the Lightrail on George Street.
Passenger unloading is not possible on Liverpool Street, you need to be around the corner. Parking at the cinema centre car park (entry off either Sussex or Kent streets) is a very short walk and the price at $45 per night is quite reasonable. (You can spend a little less on the weekend just using the parking stations weekend specials).
A great place to stay with the extra space that an apartment hotel provides.

We were very happy with our stay at Rydges Darling Square.
We had a Superior Executive room. It was nice & bright and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. An added bonus was the lovely thick fluffy towels.
Could not fault the staff as they were all exceptionally helpful.
Great location & would stay there again.

Fantastic location close to everything. Chinatown is just around the corner and it was a very short walk to Darling Harbour.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable.
The only negative is that breakfast isnt served until 7am on weekdays. Our room rate included breakfast but due to having to leave at 6.30am on our day of departure we weren't able to have breakfast or get coffee from the restaurant. We weren't aware of this when booking.
Would definitely stay again if visiting Sydney.

If you get room 519 refuse to stay. For $247 per night the accommodation that Rydges provided to me was in the budget class -2.5 star. The room was nothing like the images that were displayed on their website. I arrived late on the Tuesday evening at 8.30pm and was tired after a long day at work and just wanted to go to shower and go to bed. Walking into the room it appeared old, carpet had rolls in it (possibly from wheelchairs) and was fraying around the skirting boards. The room was a disabled room but that was not the issue. The bathroom had no towel racks to hang towels or clothes, there was no vanity to place toiletries, the disabled seat in the shower would not stay up. I was only sleeping there so accepted the situation. Things got worse when trying to fall asleep all I could hear was the plumbing next to the bedroom from other floors. This seemed continuous for hours. After waking up in the morning with not much sleep the view from the window was of a back laneway littered with rubbish. The hotel was booked out (checked booking.com) and I was not going to take the chance on getting another average room. I packed my bags and checked out at 8am and booked into Meriton on Kent (for the same price) that was a few doors away. I told the reception at Rydges who was nice the room was not acceptable and I did not have time to speak to the manager as I was tired , wanting to check-in to alternate accommodation and I had a conference to attend. I suggest management should have their staff stay a night - I am sure the room would get an overhaul because it needs it. Very disappointing as I have stayed at Rydges before in different locations. My only regret I did not take photos to share

Main positive is the great location. Close to Darling harbor, China town etc. We stayed a one-bedroom apartment, Rm 519. On arrival all the windows were open. As it was cold , we closed them and that's when we noticed the odour. Very musty and smelly feet smell. The view from the lounge was a rubbish filled small alley. In the bathroom the toilet leaked at the back. we let the front desk know but nothing was done. This meant every time we went into the bathroom, even at night we needed to put on shoes. The sink in the bathroom was a stand alone sink, no vanity and only a very small glass shelf above it. No hairdryer. In the bedroom there were no bedside lamps so had to stumble around in the dark getting in and out of bed. Wardrobe door was really stiff and difficult to open and close. We did find a foldable suitcase stand but only one. We would not stay here again, or recommend to others, which is sad because the location is good but lots of other hotels in this area we can try.

We booked the most affordable accommodation we could find for the area we wanted not expecting it to be so fantastic! The room size was as big as it shows online (often this is deceiving), the room was clean and in good condition, the spa was so nice and warm, the location was perfect and the staff friendly. There was no gluten free options at breakfast but other than that the food was good and alternative milk options available for coffee at a cost but plenty of food options around the area if this doesn't suit you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Found one cockroach on bed.
Then had a negative experience with the front Team.
My wife and 12 year old used the breakfast once, at the checkout the bill was for 2 adults, I informed the front desk that my child is 12 years old and that it should be the child price, then the front desk sought the help of the supervisor, the supervisor informed me that the restaurant child policy is 4-12 years old, then I asked if this included the 12 year old, she said no but she could give me the child price. In the end, I was only charged the child rate, but the process was uncomfortable because I know the child policy is supposed to include 12 years old.

The hotel was perfect for our few days in Sydney. It's close to George St, the light rail or train station, and shops , including many eateries close by, and a Coles supermarket at World Square. The room was spacious, with a good size tv, block out drapes, double glazed doors out to the balcolny (so very little street noise), comfy beds, a modern bathroom, and a really handy kitchenette with a microwave and sink. All in all a lovely room which made our trip even more enjoyable.

In need of upgrade. Size of room and location was good. Don’t use the pool, sauna or spa. It smelt like sewers down there and it was really run down and we were scared to touch anything. We were scared of the quality of cleanliness. I could see mould growing on the walls of the sauna, which couldn’t stay hot without you continuously going out to press the button. The spa was so hot that not one of us could tolerate dipping anything more than our toes in. The pool was so cold despite it being ‘heated’. Our kids didn’t want to use it and that’s a first. Reception staff were inadequate, hard to understand. They did not do what they said. Even prior to getting their the emails back and forth were tiresome as staff did not read them properly or understood basic questions.

After a month in Australia and New Zealand we decided to stay here for 5 nights before returning to Canada. After a little research we chose a huge 1 bedroom executive suite with balcony for a great price. A big bonus was the included breakfast every morning and besides being delicious and well run really saved us money. The breakfast was bey well maintained with fresh baked breads, a variety of pancakes, French Toast, waffles, bacon eggs sausages yogurt juices and on and on. Very good and fresh. The attending chef and help were great.
The room was fantastic with comfy beds and a full kitchen and coffee maker. The shower was very clean and modern with strong shower flow. It was also a bathtub if you wanted a bath.
The area is vibrant with many shops and restaurants and close to downtown. If you turn right as you leave the hotel and continue along Liverpool street you arrive at a park pathway that leads you to the wharfs and many more restaurants and shops and parks. Ideal for kids too.
The is limited parking in front on check in due to a bicycle lane but you can easily be dropped of just around the corner on Sussex .
Location is excellent and we loved our stay here.
We went to the beautiful pool after a long day walking and exploring and loved the clean pool area and hot tub to relax our tired muscles.
A+++ and would return in a heartbeat. You will not be disappointed! Thanks again for a memorable stay.
