Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean and comfortable room, but pack earplugs if hearing is sensitive to ambient noise. Kitchentte is well stocked. Pool is very good. Only real concern is that taxis can;t stop directly outside the hotel, which may make things a bit tricky if you have a lot or heavy luggage

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed at Rydges with children and found everything about the hotel excellent. The location was so convenient to Darling Harbour. An easy 5 - 8 minute walk. It was also great proximity to World Square with easy access to a supermarket. There were also lots of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel room was recently renovated very clean, attractive and more than met our needs. It was very useful having a clean, well appointed kitchenette. The bathroom was wonderfully clean. Having free streaming access and WIFI was valuable. It was also nice having a balcony where we could get some fresh air. Our booking included complimentary buffet breakfast and there was a great selection of delicious food. I would like to also acknowledge the Rydges staff. Every single staff member I encountered was polite, helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. I would definitely look at staying at Rydges Darling Square when we next return to Sydney.

We were very happy with our stay at Rydges Darling Square. We had a Superior Executive room. It was nice & bright and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. An added bonus was the lovely thick fluffy towels. Could not fault the staff as they were all exceptionally helpful. Great location & would stay there again.

The customer service at this hotel is absolutely appalling. We had a very bad experience with the air conditioning not working in the room for hours, waiting for management to get back to us and having to follow up with them, then having to move away from our other group we were travelling with. No apology was given, no offer for compensation, they did absolutely nothing to try to make up for it. The room was quite nice but my experience was really tainted by a lack of basic customer service. I emailed the hotel a couple of days after my stay to give them an opportunity to rectify the issues I raised. I received no response. It has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

The worst experience we had ever staying at a hotel apartment. Me, my wife and son came to Sydney for the 1st time and unfortunately we booked at Rydges darling square. The Ac there was not working properly and they couldn’t give us another room instead they offered a smaller room at different hotel (within the same group which was only 3star). The room was very small. But considering it was hot weather we shifted to the other hotel which they arranged. At 12am, we had to carry our luggage our own the with my 7 year old son and wife. The other hotel was 2 streets away and we didn’t get any help from the hotel staff in shifting the luggage and had to carry my 7 year old son and 3 big trolley luggages through the streets which was really difficult and unsafe. We were downgraded from 4 star to 3 star and the management never gave any sort of compensation. Even the breakfast was very basic. Had horrible experience and I will never book with Rydges. I hope this reaches to their senior management team and no one else have to go through this kind of experience with them.

From booking to checkout, there were absolutely no dramas. Everything was as expected from the Radisson Hotel. All staff must be complimented on providing a totally relaxing stay. The location is excellent for visiting the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, with trams and ferries right on your doorstep. The food, drink, and service are great. Special thanks for providing excellent service.

One would imagine an Executive One Bedroom Apartment would have been equipped accordingly. Listed as a Four Star Hotel while only serving breakfast, it seems odd reading how the ratings are assigned. The room has a maximum occupancy of two, per the website. Therefore, I thought the two-seater sofa, three-seater sofa and two armchairs were a little excessive and cluttered the room. Having a kitchenette, as the 2015 photographs show from when this was a Radisson, there was no dining table or even bar stools to sit at the kitchen divider. I assumed that this may have been because there was no room due to the excess of sofas and chairs. This kitchenette was not clean. The range hood had hand prints, and the kettle (although clean inside) looked grubby and marked. There was a frying pan and a saucepan complemented by three of each cutlery item. The bathroom is old, small, dated and dirty. There was mould on the tiles and the door seal of the shower, which was not pleasant. A light fitting had been replaced in the ceiling, and nobody thought to finish the job. As others mentioned, two towels and one hand towel were provided. The king-sized bed had one side table and lamp. The location is excellent, with access to great food places and tourist attractions within walking distance. No drop-off or pick-up area at the entrance. I wouldn't choose to stay here again. It needs housekeeping supervision to check rooms for cleanliness before occupancy, and whoever is responsible for room furnishings should consider somewhere to sit and eat. I assume that the refurbishment is not yet complete. The Reception Staff are very friendly and courteous. Housekeeping and maintenance staff likewise are courteous and friendly.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The location of the hotel is great. The room was nice, however some simple downfalls like no soap for the bathroom, a kitchenette but no frying pans or saucepans or anything to use to cook. The biggest downfall was the breakfast. Both mornings everything was stone cold! The bacon, eggs, mushrooms and hash browns could have been so nice if they weren't so cold. One morning we chose to order our eggs. They were warm which was good but overcooked and took about 15 minutes to have cooked. Food overall was very disappointing.
